Story goes they used to sell good cakes here but I was only able to try their cookies. The cookies however, were home made (by someone else) and they left a nice lingering taste four hours after I last consumed them. Note that this is a chinese bookstore first and foremost (on topics not many can accept like feminism and LGBT rights and acceptance) and not a cafe selling books.

Located on the 1st floor of a shared building is this little gem. Shoes off! Moontree House is a safe haven for members of the LGBTQ community, bookworms and people who just want a quiet place to relax and enjoy a a great cup of coffee. The proprietor has the demeanour of a librarian but the talent of a top barista which you'll find out from taking your first sip of coffee. Prices for coffee range from 12RM to 15RM for one cup or 30RM to 36RM for a pot (3 cups). Go upstairs, take your shoes off, pop your head in and enjoy a great cup of coffee as you peruse through the selection of books.

This is a nice quiet, working space where you can get a good coffee or tea and work in peace. Toilets are clean and many different books available for purchase also, free WiFi. It's located up 1 floor of stairs, you'll need to take your shoes off before entering an and many power sockets available which is handy for digital nomads.

Very quite place, suitable for reading and working alone. There are very less people there even during weekends. LGBTQ themed 🌈

Quiet place, very outstanding coffee and cake with lots of Chinese books (not for free, of course). LGBT themed, so probably not for some of the people out there. I'll be back to this place for sure. Quietness is a big plus.

An interesting bookstore concept amidst the busy-ness of KL. Time slows down once you step into this quiet and serene space. If you're looking for a hushed cafe with soothing music and nice coffee, be sure to time travel in!

(Translated by Google) I am a traveler from Taiwan. I later learned that the work of the owner has also been heard. The owner is a poet. And she guards the corner of the Chinese writer, and is partial to the Malaysian side. The homeowner is cheering! (Original) 我是台灣的旅客,後來才知道屋主的作品我也曾耳聞。屋主是個詩人。而她守護著華文作家的一角,在馬來西亞這邊偏安呢。屋主加油!

Books are priced reasonably. So happy to find qiu miaojin books n I bought one ❤️ Nice n peaceful atmosphere. The charm is in its humble and cozy decorations, simple yet comforting choice of food and beverage, the LGBTQ and feminist literature books (albeit most of them are in mandarin), little handmade trinkets from local artists. A cute little place to unwind in the midst of chaos of kl china town. Would love to visit again.

Nice and quiet place to read a book. Cosy but needs an upgrade, furniture are old and squeaky. I would give a higher rating if there are some books that we can read while sipping our coffee

This place is a hidden gem among all the more prominent cafes in the area. Its a quiet space for you to chill and have great coffee. Maybe read some books or work on your laptop. If you want to have a rowdy chat with friends, you should go elsewhere or sit outdoors at the balcony. Filter coffee is available here. I quite enjoyed the Yirgacheffe and complementary biscotti. Cookies are nice too.

Hidden gem. Quiet, clean, and cheap. All great things. There's also a very progressive feel to the place, with inspiring quotes and forward looking literature readily available. Add to that a bookshop and a bunch of goods made by local artists and this place really is an excellent stop to unwind.

Interesting coffee and nice orange chocolate cookies. It's a bookshop far away from the hurry-scurry of Chinatown. A place to take a break and redesign civilization with a friend or two.

Safe space for LGBT couples to go on cute dates. Owned by an amazing owner who is even more hipster than your pretentious vinyl playing, vintage clothes wearing friend (Read: Does not care about social judgement or placing social judgement ) A piece of oasis within the hustle and bustle of Chinatown yet very close to the MRT so if you don't drive or prefer not to drive this is amazing. When you step in you will immediately be frozen in time, voila before you know it, it's closing time. You will leave charged with more than the daily reccomended amount of caffeine with their amazing coffee & teas. Small snacks are available as well. Pro as well as con would be that it will be a sacrilege to even raise your voice more than the normal speaking volume, a godsend for introverts, probs will make extroverts uneasy.
