One of the nicest and friendliest crews working in this cafe. Service is the best. Fast and efficient, never left patrons unattended and no disappointment experience. The food is good. Highly recommended is the Kale Salad with grilled prawns, Common Full Breakfast, and Brioche Toast with Raspberries. As for drinks you must try the Nitro Cold Brew. The sweetness in Nitro Cold Brew is the coffee essences not from sugar! And if you are an alcoholic, you already can order cocktails right at 8am in the morning! Very good experience and will definitely come back for more near future 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great ambiance, service and coffee! Enjoyed the mocha and fluffy brioche French toast with berry compote, maple syrup and premium vanilla ice cream. The pancakes with compote and crumble were a big hit too! Though the prices are above average, it is worth the try!

If based on food quality and taste alone, I would have given a 6 star. However, we were there last weekend and there was no attempt from the management to implement any social distancing at all. The other restaurants we have been to sacrificed revenue to ensure the safety of their customers by only using every other table. Common man roasters packed the whole place. Although we like the place, we will not come back while there is still the risk of contacting the virus.

Used to avoid this place because there's always people outside queueing/smoking - assumed it's always full. Was going to head somewhere else for a new year's day brunch but everywhere seemed packed. Thankfully, we went to Common Man and were seated after we came in. Ordered their coffee, full breakfast, beef cheek Benedict, pancakes, herbed fries, hashbrowns. I feel I need say this on a megaphone so the world knows. THE FOOD. DELICIOUS. STELLAR. *Standing ovation* Ginormous portion. Ox cheek was tender, packed with flavour. Lovely crusty sourdough. For their full breakfast, I would swap out their vegetable rosti for something else the next time. It was good but not really a fan. The sides, hashbrown + harissa magnificent. Herbed fries - always a treat. Friendly staff. Another standing ovation for their service, please. The atmosphere and ambiance - warm and intimate, gorgeous bar area. The inviting smell of coffee lingers around. Price is on the high side but totally worth it. I would love some waffles on the menu but they have a great selection of brunch and lunch items. Nitro Iced Tea - they should call it iced tea from heaven. It was so refreshing. Excellent coffee.

The food is consistent and good. Always find that they offer good food and good coffee. However it is not the best I tried but is a good place to bring your friends as there is bound to be something for everyone. Atmosphere is pleasant and the service is fast and sincere. The downside is that the price is on the upside and if you are picky there are more value for money places

I would give 6 stars for service! Such friendly welcome and care! Coffee is excellent! Will come here again for the food and coffee. Parking can be challenging depending on time of day. 😫

Food is at slightly expensive range but it's very appetizing & worth the bill. Waiter there is friendly and ambience is totally great and chilling. Seating all quite far apart from each other. Not forgetting to mention the interior of the shop is fancy. I have ordered big breakfast & CMCR. It's gonna be the best sandwich I ever had in my life. Will definitely return to explore other menu! Cheers!

Great selection of Western breakfasts and coffee! Portion and taste-wise - very satisfying. They have a number of options for vegetarian dishes too. I went on a weekend at around 10am and there was already a large crowd and a number of people waiting in line, but the staff was efficient and we didn't have to wait for very long. Very cosy and nice ambiance. From outside, it didn't look like it had much space but it does hold a number of tables inside. It was a little pricier compared to other cafes, but based on my experience, it was worth it. Would love to go again and try other dishes on the menu.

Didn't look like much from the outside but as we came in the ambience was very cosy & inviting indeed. They have non dairy options with coffee & food was solid. There's a side entrance though the back road & parking is ample at the basement but a short climb though up the stairs. Of the many breakfast places in KL this place is one of the pricey ones.

This place is definitely not for the common man, they should change their name to rich men! The big breakfast was alright, but the hash brown was served undercooked (it was thick so the middle was still raw and hard) and definitely priced too steep at RM46++ which comes to more than RM50 with taxes in. Drinks are between RM15-18. The churros was RM27++ and a disaster as it was oily and hard! The oil was obviously too hot when they made it so it was all oily and hard, and served with very basic ice-cream. Be prepared to fork out RM100 for a main, a drink and a dessert for breakfast/brunch. For the price paid, I expected better use of ingredients and execution. When complained, the staff just nodded in agreement. Ambience is very good as the place is brightly lit and well decorated but not returning for the expensive but mediocre food and drinks.

my husband tried their uncommon coffee-villamaria. love the fruity notes so much that we decided to buy their beans and brew them at home. food wise, flavourful but nothing to shout about since the price is a bit on the high side

Common Man Coffee Roasters somewhat feel the most like an Australian-type bistro than a normal coffee shop in KL. It is fancy, the interior is probably one of the best for its kind in town. The food is fantastic, the coffee being a roaster, is flavourful. We had the big breakfast there, and it is BIG. Each part of that big breakfast took a lot of effort - the spinach, mushroom, beans and eggs are well cooked. Still, I don't find the name fitting enough. This is not food or drink for the Common Man, and this is reflected in its quality and by that logic, the price.

Went here at around 10:30am on a Tuesday for brunch & to get some work done and surprisingly, it was packed! And it got really busy & loud by 12pm. Food & coffee were really good although they are a little pricey. My favourite would have to be the sweet potato, carrot cake! Waiters were friendly & bathroom was squeaky clean. Would definitely come back!

A spacious cafe with very nice ambience. Service was good and staff were attentive and friendly. Perhaps the lunch menu can be further improved with more variety for customers to choose from. Ordered the full big breakfast and it was good but price on the high side. Tiramisu feels a little lacking in effort at the price of RM25. It was very creamy and too much cream for a piece of cake.

My last visit was few years back but hardly remember the taste of food. Love their iced black (more to bitter taste with a little hint of sour). Brioche french toast smells heavenly, but i wish they put more cinnamon powder. Dont really like the sour cream that comes with it, doesnt pair well with the toast. CMCR club still the bomb, love their sourdough is not chewy but crispy on the edge and fluff inside. Down point is very little smoked beef brisket 🥲 beef brisket is tender and super flavorful. Went on sunday brunch hour (11am) and i like that it is not too crowded, seating is comfortable too not too close to each other. don't need to wait for seat. Kenny hills tbh is overrated.

Street parking difficult. Can park at basement car park. Service good. Western dishes. Unfamiliar names. Selected Some vege (kale) chicken and clam pasta with squid. Mocha ice and hot chocolate. The place was packed since it is Sunday morning. Everyone is talking at the same time so very very noisy. Chicken ok but dry. A lot of greens. Hot chocolate normal. Pasta in tomato sauce. Sour. Best is the mocha. Pricey but might come back.

Went for breakfast during public holiday. We were there by 8.30am and we were lucky there were few people at that time. Breakfast menu were greaatt, portion was generous and filling for 3 pax. Coffee was especially fragrant and good. We stayed there for 2H, and the place was filled up fast. Will definitely come by here again, wanted to try their lunch menu.

Worth the hype, though definitely on the higher end of cafes. Great service, delicious food, and it’s spacious inside, enjoyable for a midweek brunch. Veggie Wonderland was really good, everything seasoned well. Croissant bread and butter pudding (RM25) was soft and moist, and it’s quite a big slice.

Ambience 5/5 , decor and furnishing is astounding, the bar stools are comfy Staff 5/5 Latte 3/5 had those single origin exotice beans sour note like from drip coffee. Personally I like it more neutral. 2nd visit the latte was different and more palatable. So i guess coffee here also falls to Inconsistency. Burger 5/5 great bun, juicy patty no frills. Fries were a bit overdone too crispy. Croissant 1/5 straight Garbo, Iooks like it's from Kenny hills bakery, nothing like it's European counterpart. Size is the only thing it has going for it, might try other offering to better gauge food quality. Price is about avg, coffee is expensive end. Male toilet stinks.

Lousy service. There are 5 staffs on duty. Only 3 tables of customers. I asked for the bill for 20 minutes. It didn't come. I asked second time. They didn't bother to reply me at all and started speaking among themselves in Tagalog because they are Filipino. When the bill came, no apology. I thought cafes with the high price point has better service than hawkers or fast food. Apparently, it's the same.

Common Man Coffee Roasters Another #brunchspot that we loved! Been here twice and enjoyed the food! Here’s what we tried! 1. Eggs Benedict: probably one of the best hollandaise that I have had, soft toasted English muffins that still had a crunch, with perfectly poached and runny eggs. This originally comes with beef but you can swap it to chicken 2. Fish burger: golden fried panko breaded fish patty, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with burst of tartar sauce and salad. This comes with fries (guilty 🥲) 3. Chilli chicken - grilled chicken breast with avocado, sweet potato mash and burnt lemon and harissa. A healthy meal with a balance of proteins and carbs! 4. Okinawa black tiramisu - this is a MUST ORDER dish! The kinako powder (roasted soya bean powder) that gives a mild heat and the toasted sourdough crumbs gives a contrast texture to the smooth tiramisu that has a strong sweet and bitter flavour from the black sugar sauce. You almost feel like you’re eating a healthy dessert (as if that’s even possible 😅) 5. ☕️ their coffees are some of the best that we have, they also sell their own signature specialty coffee blends. * The wait time for your food is about 15 mins and the people are absolutely friendly and helpful. * The quantity of food is also a lot, so we usually buy a main and share, just so we have room for dessert (some strategy huh? 😆) Definitely a good meal after a weekend hike or a morning workout! Can’t wait to go back to try more dishes (specially the decedent chocolate cake and their banana cake that’s always in demand)

We ordered 2 food items and 2 drinks; 1 orange cake, 1 granola bowl of some sort, a coffee and 1 fresh orange juice. As far as we were aware, there was no mention of an ice cream/sherbet sort of thing for the granola bowl. What was supposed to be a healthy bowl felt less so due to the sherbet. It also tasted.... interesting but not necessarily in a good way but let's chalk that down to I not preferring such flavours. The orange cake on the other hand was disappointing in many ways. It was very dark on the surface (possibly due to over-baking), relatively dense, relatively dry, and lacking much of the orange flavours. Disappointing even in every way possible. The coffee (can't remember which it was) was fine, and the orange just was largely fine. It was slightly bitter, probably due to methods of extraction but that's not a problem to myself. The seating arrangements were rather uncomfortable unfortunately. While the overall space/room is large and spacious, the seating placement makes it less private and intimate. The 2-seaters were very close to one another that it almost felt like sitting in a canteen. Sound proofing would go a long way as well as the room became very loud and noisy as more guests arrived. Nobody was speaking exceptionally loud but the room was filled nonetheless. The staffs were great. All polite, friendly and got things done without any issues. All in all, both of us agreed that we will not be returning any time soon.

We were here in the weekend. There's crowd during lunch time, so there's limited table for two of us, Which is okay 👌🏻 the only thing is I think their menu is a bit overpriced. Rm50+ for a sort of breakfast plate. All the ingredient is kinda normal Which i can get it from other cafe for Rm30+. Chai Latte is not my favorite, sorry. Fish burger is good. Acai bowl is perfectly done. Overall the atmosphere is noisy for me, Coz is weekend. I will prefer come on weekday instead. But for price Wise, i will not back again, Coz their dish is quite normal for me, i would rather go somewhere else 😇 Also tiramisu is too much icing up there, probably not my fav.

The coffee had been just amazing and better than my expectation since my last visit. Such great combination of chocolate and coffee. However pizza wasn’t my go-to. Doughy and the sauce doesn’t taste homemade. Gotta say it’s a let down and to add on there isn’t much chorizo taste. The okinawa tiramisu? That’s actually nice and surprisingly good! Fries are well made even the fried chicken yums! The sandwich tho a little too full and yucky with all the sauces and runny yolk. Perfect taste but just “jelak” by the end.

Love coming here normally for good coffee and excellent food. Today, the coffee was terrible, and when asked the barista why the coffee was a lot more sour than usual, he started getting defensive and explaining to me what a latte was vs a piccolo. I know what the difference is or I wouldn’t have ordered it. I used to go there at least once a month and I know that it tasted different and awful today. Instead, I got a lecture on what a latte is vs a piccolo. Terrible service attitude that looked down on customers when I wasn’t even properly complaining in the first place. Not sure I’ll go back for awhile with that attitude. The waiter was excellent though!

  • 5/5 d c. 11 months ago on Google
Their brunch selection was quite interesting. Sadly I went only for dessert and coffee. The service was terrific. You can park in Plaza VADS and there is a covered walkway directly to here. Parking for 1 hour is RM3. I parked for 2.5 hours and it was RM5. After 5.30pm this place would be a bar but you could still dine in since they have quite a selection of menus for dinner too.

Great place that serves great coffee and brunch selections. The marmite mushrooms were sublime. Perfectly balanced. The avocado spread calms the sharpness of the marmite.

A really nice coffee and food bistro if you are in the area that has great service! We were here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy. The Big breakfast was cooked well with great ingredients that showed on the plate (and the price tag). My wife had a piccolo (not on the menu) which was balanced and the espresso shot that was pulled for it was excellent. I had a slow brew (pour over but done by a machine!) which was OK. Not the best I've had, smelled better than it tasted and for some reason, the bottom of the jug tasted more bitter than the first cup that I poured out. I will give their other single origins a try the next time I'm there but at rm24 a serving, I was hesitant. For me what was most impressive was the service - prompt, attentive and informed. If there was any reason to return it would be the great service first and the ambience next.

Had the smash burger and mocha during my first experience here. Price was towards the more expensive end of the scale but it's an industry standard for cafe food and for the ambience of the place. Staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive. Highly recommended for people who enjoy decent food with a good ambience. Would visit again on special occasions. Overall, 8.5/10.

A spacious cafe with elegant bar-like deco. When we went there it was so packed but since I had my friend with me, I survived our lunch session. Crowded and noisy places would make me feel anxious. My friend said early in th morning it'll be quieter I decided to go with a cup of cappuccino. Nice foam work on a cappuccino that was more of latte in view of the foam ratio being off, but the coffee beans were so fragrant. And the roasting was on point! My friend's hot chocolate was good too although if you're one of those people who prefer huge amount of shaved chocolate going into your beverage, you might not fancy it, but for a person who wants to feel less guilty and still want to indulge like me, it's perfect I had Grilled Juicy Chilli Boneless Chicken while my friend had CMCR Club sandwich Mine had two butterflied chicken breasts which altho were not marinated, the chilli rub went right in thanks to light tenderisation. Served with avocado salsa which at first tasted too plain but as I tried it with the overseasoned chicken, I understood - the cook actually did an excellent job balancing flavour profiles! I prefer this over having two components that can stand alone I cannot comment on my friend's sammich but the french fries are... I am pretty positive they are store-bought. Unless my palate deceived me I certainly would come again. Perhaps when it's quieter

Decided to check this place out after our hike in Kiara Hills. The staff are very welcoming and efficient. We had the big breakfast with a side of fries. I’m not sure how they do it but the food came so fast even with a full house. Despite the breakfast costing close to RM50, I think it’s well worth it considering the taste of the food, quality of ingredients, ambiance and excellent service. The portobello mushroom was so meaty, the sourdough crispy and buttery, the chicken sausage juicy and so much more. The fires were great as well. We also had the soy milk latte and it was great. We’ll definitely be back.

Had lunch here a few days ago. People are fairly friendly and helpful. There’s a leg operated hand sanitizer which is good. All of the restaurant staff are on their masks during this pandemic. I checked into the place using Malaysia’s app, My Sejahtera. It’s so easy and convenient. After that, I was attended to in less than 5 mins. Food is still good and fresh. Serving size is just nice to me. Prices are reasonable considering the type of quality food is served. And coffee is always good here. If you are coffee drinker, highly recommend to drop by this place.

Service was good, the coffee and the food too. Had the CMCR Club, only issue with it is that it's way too large to fit into my mouth ? but I like how everything in it had its part to play in the overall taste experience. Very packed for a weekend but managed to snag some counter seats.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We went there at night so nice ambience as well with clean toilets. Good place to hang after work. Chai Soy Latte: Unfortunately overpriced. Orecchiette Pasta: Overall taste is good but not worth the price. Okinawa Black Sugar Tiramisu: Poured too much syrup so it was too sweet but if that was reduced, definitely a nice twist to the tiramisu. Yuzu Cheesecake: Couldn’t really taste the yuzu but a good cheesecake in general. Not Your Common Chocolate Cake: Naming was good but it was just chocolate cake with ice cream. Tasty though albeit a little dry so just eat it with the ice cream.

A rather upscale cafe with higher than average prices for wealthy patrons in TTDI. Attentive waiters, quality food and drinks. Expect to spend RM40-60 per person on the lower end (if you were to take a dish + a drink). Menu tend to be refreshed every year based on my observation for the past 5-6 years. - French toast 👍 - Good vegetarian options It now serves dinner since April 28, 2023 - menu as attached.

We walked in for lunch on a Friday and were seated immediately. Placed an order for big breakfast with poached eggs and churros to share. When the poached eggs arrived, we found it overcooked, informed the wait staff and he asked did we mention we wanted to soft boil(?). Erm … well… I had never needed to request specifically soft boiled for a poached egg. Anyway they sent it back to the kitchen. When it came back out, again it was overcooked ie the yolk was not runny and beginning to turn firm, so they offered to send it bank again. The third time was slightly better but by then we decided to accept it. Apart from that, the breakfast plate was 6/10. We asked for the churros and there seems to be a communication problem with the staff as we waited for a really long time. When it came out, I could smell the greasiness of it and it was very oily. I used at least 3 tissue paper to dab the oil out. From reviews I read, the churros was highly recommended. Service wise was good in spite of these incidents as I felt that the staff were really doing their best to provide good service. Unfortunately the kitchen staff needs to really improve.

So disappointed. Ridiculously overpriced, and food was tasteless. RM45 for the shrimp and squid pasta (it's just normal portion like other cheaper cafes, not big portion) but it was so tasteless and bad. Definitely not worth paying so much at this place as the food was disappointing. Might as well spend your money at Kenny Hill Bakers.

It gets Uber noisy when crowded… my main takeaway… Coffee is pretty good and the cake we had was big and good. So as a coffee place it’s thumbs up. I didn’t expect them to be a full fledged foodie place! Not sure if i will come back to try their spread cuz there’s way more choices all around. But you won’t get disappointed. Oh! It’s a lil pricy… you pay a rm2-4 premium for all your choices… so hmm…

Very good restaurant to dine in with the comfort environment. Although the food is on the higher side, however, u get the best service and environment here. The SOP here is also followed well, and they will sanitize the place for next customer.

    Good place, chill environment

Pricey, definitely. But so good. Try the vegan marmite mushroom avo toast. Last time I went the coffee was a little flavourless, so minus a star

Food, menu options, decor, and ambiance were great. A tad pricey and packed with people despite the pandemic. Good spot for brunch with friends or family.

The shop occupies a large area at the ground floor of VADS building . Similar to Kenny Hills Baker at the Greens, the place gets very crowded during lunch time . Yet, the cashier / hostess at the entrance works swiftly to get us a table . We requested for a table with a better view but the hostess was reluctant initially . So we stood around until another table was cleared and she relented . The flavours in the food is probably fusion, which requires one to get accustom to . Serving size is okay but the food does make you feel full . Food takes longer to be serve due to peak hours. Ambiance is lovely - nice lighting and a Christmas tree !

Ordered for 2 pax, flat white for myself, French toast, prawn & squid bolognese pasta for sharing. Food tastes great, along with the presentation and portion size. French toast however will need to eat fast as it becomes wet and soft towards the end. Overall good service and ambience

Nice coffee but the food can be temperamental

Finally here for lunch! Mixed bag experience, let’s talk about the goods first. The Turkish Common Man breakfast was excellent, properly flavorful and nice pita bread. The biggest disappointment was the beef cheek eggs Benedict, although the beef is fork tender, it was seriously lacking in flavor. The hollandaise was bland as well. Average croissant too. No matter, will be back to try other dishes and desserts.

The ONLY highlight was their houseblend coffee. Distincitve notes of chocolate and hazelnut. However Pasta was too salty to my liking with very poor amount of seafood. Some pasta were raw and stuck to one another which was very unprofessional For the price you pay I expected something more luxurious and wholesome. Not forgetting the waiters were rude and appeared authoritative as id they own the place. Had that unfriendly vibe since the first step into the cafe (more like a gang lair). By the way please note this place closes at 5PM. I mean what sort of place closes at that time?

Good customer service, comfortable, cozy environment, nice coffee and their Fish Sandwich taste delicious. That will be great if they have more choices of their food menu.

Food and ambience was really good. Coffee was too complicated for me. Maybe I’m just not used to the bitter coffee that was served. Overall I’ll visit again for the food.

Big food portion of food and great coffee. Best part is actually the staffs, which are attentive despite the crowd. Packed on weekend and public holiday, so take note of that.

one of my go to place for a nice breakfast/brunch place before/during MCO and now. got to say their food is awesome. always on point and delicious. during MCO, i often come here with my own plate. cause this is how best i can enjoy their food without sacrificing the taste/texture quality. i guess they too understand my needs and they are happy to accommodate my request. i think i tried almost all of their food in the menu given the MCO period. the staff here is super super friendly. even during the peak hours, they take their time to make you feel comfortable. only down point i feel is the price a little on the higher side. but well, their quality and outcome somehow make me feel okay with it. must try is their club house sandwich. see like normal sandwich, when you bite them down…you’ll understand what i say.
