Dimsum always lies in the freshness of prawns and here, prawns are real deal. The prawn dumplings, fritters, even in fried rice, are fresh, succulent and juicy. The steamed fish is delicious too. Most importantly, the place is clean, newly renovated, ambience very delightful and customer service very welcoming. Melinda in particular, was very attentive and made the whole dining experience like super VIP. Thank you for the good service and sumptuous meal

Came here by occasion. service was good. it's a pork free or halal Chinese cuisine restaurant. I was surprised that the Cantonese noodle was good comparable to those good Chinese shops that cook with pork lard. service was good too, attentive. accept e wallet but maxis line was a little choppy to pay with e wallet. The free wifi may help.

A Chinese dim-sum restaurant located at the basement of Starhill Gallery. Gorgeously decorated with rattan and wood furnitures with a touch of minimalism mirroring their luxurious and yet simple dishes that surely becomes memorable to you. Enjoyed their egg fried rice, fish head noodles and especially the scrumptious salted egg prawn. Everything was executed professionally and flavours were top-notch. By far the best prawns Ive had in years. Staffs were kind and helpful. Great for groups.

Premium halal dum sum and chinese restaurant at Starhill gallery. This Luk Yu has no connection to Luk Yu in Hong Kong. Deco is clean and simple. Seating is spacious. Service is friendly but lacks attentiveness. Food is ok, not too bad but nothing really special. Worth the visit for a quick meal without queue. I love the cutlery.

October 2023: food so so only. I remembered it to be much better. Or maybe expectations were high. Felt like the food was not (heat) hot enough (apart from the desserts). Still generally tasty.

Maybe it’s because I was hungry. Or maybe it was because it was really that good. But I find myself unbelievably liking pork- free dim sum. In contrary to popular beliefs - it doesn’t lack flavour and texture at all. So it really can be done ! I feel so happy that my Muslim friends get to try Chinese delicacies like this. We ordered the typicals: siumai, xiaolongbao, hargao, and custard bun. The crab soup was really refreshing, with real bits of crab inside which I could bite and taste. The fried rice is definitely a must try - pair it with sambal belacan and thank me later ☺️ Actually, eat it with everything. (other than desserts of course)

Ambience was nice (except if your table is next to some dont-mind-parents of their kids shouting and running and throwing stuff). Totally ruined my experience here. Food was ok ok. Nothing wow. A good place to do a catch up. Staff was friendly but might take a while to get their attention. Understaffed. It gets worse during peak hours. It’s a bit high on the price tag but I guess you can expect it from this location.

That’s not 干炒牛河 to begin with. It taste more like a screwed up char kway teow with over-cooked beef added instead. 煎萝卜糕 has got weird taste. And it’s supposed to be 煎 (pan fried) and it came deep fried. The chicken dumpling is supposed to be pan fried too because it’s 煎饺, but it came deep fried instead. I don’t know man. Low effort from the chefs. 3 items + 1 pot of tea … total RM110. First time, last time. One star for the service and one star for the environment.

A quieter than usual dim sum place. Good when you need a restaurant for chit chat and discussion with halal dim sum. Most of the dim sum items I find it tasty. I like the one with spinach and chicken xiao long bao. Find it better than the one at Din. For dessert mango pomelo sago comes in very nice dainty bowl with cover. Classy.

My first time coming to Luk Yu Tea House since the remodel, although have been coming here for many years. The food was as delicious as always and the new layout and design of the restaurant is very nice as well. Staff are attentive and friendly. In particular love the dumplings which are simply delicious. Recommend this to anyone in KL.

Coming back to KL after a long while, I just needed to come back to this gorgeous establishment that's dedicated itself to serve Cantonese cuisine that's delightful and Chinese tea, which for its namesake is a sipping splendour that pairs well for the diner's enjoyment. I had the Yong Chow fried rice and it's fragrant and delicious especially with the recommended house delight, the amazingly fragrant and crunchy chilli oil!!!! The portion is huge and worth the price. Service is excellent and you get your good in less than 15mins. To those who've never experienced the multi story Luk Yu before the renovation, I must say that place has a special place in my heart. This modern design stands out but sipping tea to the chitty chattery and smell of fresh dim sum and a design that brings you back in time is magic! I'll definitely recommend this place and I'll be back for more!

We were very disappointed by the quality of the dishes they served. Stir fried dishes were warm rather than hot. Felt like the food been in the kitchen for a while to be served to us. We did ask kitchen to warm it up but still not the standard of Chinese food should be. Service was not attentive at all. Anyway this is my first and the last visit.

Comfortable and modern eatery that serves a good dimsum. Can really taste the fresh ingredients they use in making the food. Prawn dumpling was super good. Though it may be slightly pricey, it definitely was worth the price.

The ambience was good after the long-awaited refurbishment....but food was still on the average scale. The only dish that was slightly better was the beancurd but apart from that, mostly were subpar. Even the Chinese tea that we ordered was diluted and it wasn't aromatic. It's a ripped-off to be charged at RM20/pot...

Luk Yu Tea House has reopened at Starhill basement with a bigger more spacious area with a nicer ambience. So 4/5 for ambience & decor. Service was ok but may be inadequate during peak hours as there were only two waiting staff on duty while we were dining around 5pm. We ordered some dim sum items - siew mai, prawns dumplings, fried turnip cake, etc. Most of the dim sum were of average taste and were not warm or hot. Feels like not freshly made. Ingredients are fresh though with fairly large prawns used. Prices though are at hotel price, so no cheap dim sum here. Importantly it remains pork free which means much of the dim sum will taste odd. Sorry I may be biased but I preferred dim sum that’s with pork. So my rating for the food 3/5. To be fair, there are also many non dim sum items on menu but we didn’t order. This place is not for those dim sum connoisseur seeking the most authentic delicious dim sum. It’s a place that offers halal dim sum that caters to both Muslim and others. It’s a nice cosy comfy place for tea as long as you don’t expect much of the food.

Have a craving for traditional Chou Chow cuisine that is also #Halal? Head over to Luk Yu Tea House for an unforgettable dining experience, surrounded by a beautiful #Chinoiserie inspired interior! Ms. Melinda from the restaurant was kind enough to hand select the best dishes that the restaurant had to offer such as Steamed #CheongFun with prawns, steamed chicken and prawn #dumpling, steamed #ChickenFeet in Chu Hou sauce, salted egg #FriedRice with prawns and to finish it off, mango sago. We also had the Premium Taiwanese Jasmine Lily Tea which was a great palate cleanser throughout our meal. Every dish was bursting with flavour and I absolutely enjoyed how fresh and juicy the prawns were. Not gonna lie, we were absolute FULL by the end of the meal but we had to make some space do the dessert. The mango #sago was the perfect way to end the meal.

A beautiful pork free dim sum place in Starhill. The Chinese food here is delicious despite it being pork free. It's a beautiful ambience but dishes can get a bit pricey and range from RM20-30 per dish. Most of the food items were great and well made. Loved the chee chong fun and the tea. I was a little disappointed by the crab omelette. But the rest of the items were made well. Not the best but very good.

I recently visited the newly refurbished Chinese restaurant and was blown away by the attention to detail in both the food and the atmosphere. The dim sum selection was fantastic and the choice of teas was impressive. The modern oriental aesthetic added to the overall dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious dim sum and a unique atmosphere. Overall, a great dining experience that I will definitely be returning to.

Food is ok. Not amazing, but not bad either. I expected more from a restaurant in the hotel. Atmosphere and service are good. Staff are professional and attentive. They'll refill your tea/tea pot and take away empty plates almost instantly. They played these old school Cantonese songs when I was there, which was a nice vibe with the decor.

Very normal halal dim sum restaurant. Food so so, nothing to shout out. Only dry beef hor fun exceeded expectation.

We were served by Mary, a Burmese lady, and she was lovely! Extremely helpful and attentive. The place looked nice though the seat cushions were sagging, so try to pick the wooden chairs if you are able to. The food was just so-so honestly. Still, it was a welcome change from the heavy food we have been having in KL. Won't be returning.
