It
is
best
to
come
on
weekends
as
the
streets
are
not
so
busy.
Pau
Kee
is
one
of
the
handful
establishments
that
remain
true
to
Kai
Si
hor
fun.
The
rest,
namely
Lee
Tong
Kee
&
Chan
Tong
Kee,
are
no
longer
in
operations.
The
hor
fun
is
smooth
&
silky.
However,
the
broth
is
a
bit
weak
and
doesn't
have
the
oomph.
Toppings
were
minimalistic
...
The
prawn
&
meat
dumpling
or
siu
kow
was
flavorful
&
fresh.
It
would
have
tango
with
my
taste
buds
if
the
size
were
a
little
bit
bigger,
whereby
the
juices
of
the
meat
oozes
out
to
give
it
a
delightful
rhapsody.
The
staff
&
service
were
great.
Polite,
courteous,
and
offer
suggestions
to
complement
the
meal.
The
food
order
was
slow
as
Uncle
was
the
only
one
doing
the
preparations.
Dumplings
came
15
minutes
after
the
drink
which
took
about
5
minutes.
The
hor
fun
came
10
minutes
later
after
the
dumplings.
Together
with
a
glass
of
Teh
C
kosong,
the
bill
came
up
to
RM
18.60.
Despite
that,
I
gave
it
a
3
star
rating
for
food
and
a
4
star
rating
for
the
services
of
the
staff

the

on
the

list
of
food
she
wanted
to
have
before
flying
back
to
the
US
was
Kai
See
Hor
Fun.
Went
there
almost
12
noon.
Found
a
car
park
in
front
of
the
medical
clinic.
Sat
on
table
#23,
a
non
air-conditioning
table
right
under
the
nose
of
the
owners
and
staff
so
that
they
will
not
forget
my
order.
BAD
MISTAKE
on
my
part.
Lady
boss
took
my
orders
of
my
eat
in
selection
and
take
away
orders.
I
ordered
a
large
bowl
of
hor
fun
soup
and
a
portion
of
chicken
and
beansprouts.
I
asked
for
breast
meat.
For
takeaway,
3
packets
of
kai
see
horfun
soup
and
2
portions
of
chicken.
She
took
the
order
without
writing
it
down.
She
repeated
-
3
packets
hor
fun,
and
2
chicken
to
go.
I
reminded
her
of
the
eat
in
order.
I
ordered
an
iced
Chinese
tea.
The
ice
disappeared
fast
as
the
tea
was
warm.
I
noticed
that
those
who
came
later
had
their
orders
first.
A
couple
who
sat
next
to
me
at
table
#24,
changed
their
seating
to
#32
and
she
can
remember
that.
30
minutes
later,
her
staff
who
sent
the
orders
out,
noticed
me
sitting
like
a
zombie.
She
walked
closer
to
her
lady
boss
and
asked
her
about
my
order.
She
remembered.
My
order
came
in
5
minutes
with
the
noodles
first.
The
portion
of
chicken
thigh
came
3
minutes
later.
I
reminded
the
staff
of
the
chicken
breast.
She
said
they
don't
sell
chicken
breast.
I
guess
it
is
saved
as
kai
see
for
the
noodles.
But
lady
boss
didn't
bother
to
give
me
that
information!
I
finished
the
meal
quickly,
for
I
was
afraid
that
the
takeaway
orders
would
take
some
time
too.
They
were
packing
it
after
I
finished
my
meal.
I
wanted
to
pay
the
staff
but
she
said
Lady
boss
will
"kira."
I
was
holding
a
RM
100
in
my
hand
waiting
to
pay.
Tick
tock,
no
lady
boss.
It
took
15
minutes
for
the
staff
to
remind
her.
She
then
asked
another
Chinese
guy
to
do
the
counting
of
the
amount
on
his
head
mentally.
Note:-
Don't
you
think
it's
funny
that
the
staff
has
to
prompt
or
remind
the
lady
boss
of
her
"job."
Lady
boss
ever
so
busy
with
the
prepping
for
the
husband
(so
that
he
won't
run
out
of
it).
Her
back
is
always
facing
the
customers.
She
blanched
the
beansprouts,
the
chicken
whole
leg,
the
dumplings,
etc.
Actually,
a
staff
could
be
taught
to
do
it
but
she
wants
to
work
as
a
staff
and
not
the
boss.
Maybe
it's
their
"family
trade
secret."
On
the
other
hand,
the
staff
is
free
to
"act"
like
a
boss
to
remind
the
owners
if
the
customers
of
a
certain
table
has
paid
for
their
meals
or
not.
After
1
hour
of
observation
and
waiting.
Came
to
my
table,
holding
a
round
plastic
tub
with
change.
He
said
RM
58.60.
NO
receipt
and
the
menu
were
without
any
prices
written
on
it.
Gave
him
RM
60
&
got
RM
2
back
when
I
handed
to
him
some
coins.
I
don't
think
I
want
to
come
here
again
....
I
will
try
out
the
last
"thoong
kee"
in
ttdi
and
maybe
have
a
much
better
alternative
than
this
Slowest
restaurant
in
town!
