Totally Enjoy it! Love it! I bring my Boss n cliques from Thailand and they love it as they know what Malaysia cultural is it. It ain't easy to draw & painting the batik. But i managed to do it on Silk Scarf. You guys should try and do bring your friend here! The staff also so friendly and guiding us patiently. Great place!

We called to confirm seats before arriving for the batik workshop. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole workshop and we had a lot of fun drawing and painting. There is parking outside the shop as well so it was nice to not have to worry about where to park. There is a workshop area (pictured) and another area selling lots of batik items. Highly recommend if you're interested.

We enjoyed our visit here. When you first go in, they take you in the back and show you how batik is made which we found really interesting. There was an artist working on an amazing dragon piece. Then they guide you back into the shop. All of the workers were very helpful answering my questions and they had gorgeous materials and products made from the fabric. We got some beautiful gifts and fabric to make our own items.

I didn't do any batik here myself but just had a look inside. All very nice and friendly with beautiful nail items on cotton and silk, saris, dresses, shirts, fabric,.... and great to see the workspace with artists working. Toilet facilities and a large range of adorably priced pewter souvenirs and Chinese year key rings, lots of choices and reasonably priced. The batik seemed a little $$ but that is because you are buying art, hands made and presumably original.

Visit to Batik factory is highly recommended if you are visiting Kuala Lumpur. It is also a part of some tour packages (check TripAdvisor for details). They give first hand viewing experience of batik art, how batik prints are made of fabrics. They show the entire process of drawing motifs from wax, then dyeing etc. Apart from the workstation, they have a retail outlet, which sells a vast range of ready made and fabrics of batik prints, which is produced in there. Apart from these other souvenirs, silver articles are available.

Came for the batik painting class - it was a great experience in a comfortable, clean environment. We got to pick our designs, draw them, go over with the wax, and then paint them. They were later sewn into masks that we could come collect. Staff were helpful throughout the process too! Personally would suggest a courier/delivery service for the finished products because it’s a bit of a hassle to come back and pick the items up.

We had a visit to this great shop as part of a city tour and we enjoyed the traditional Malaysian clothes making. Apparently this batik store is run by an experienced family spanning generations. It is a must to experience Malaysian culture by designing and buying a batik or scarves. The store also sells many other local products worth exploring. Plan for a 30-45 minuets visit which worth the stop.

Our batik coloring workshop experience at Jadi Batek was absolutely delightful. The booking process through Klook was hassle-free, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The friendly staff members exuded a genuine passion for batik, and the well-organized workshop allowed us to explore traditional techniques with clear instructions and guidance. Spending hours coloring the batik fabric was incredibly satisfying, and we wished we could have continued the activity for even longer. The warm and inviting atmosphere, along with the impressive retail section offering high-quality batik fashion and gifts, added to the overall charm of Jadi Batek. We highly recommend this workshop for a memorable batik experience.

It cost us rm80 each for our experience here, and we brought a tourist friend with us and we felt it was priced high but ok for the service and the environment. It was clean, the staff were very helpful and explained everything to us and off we went. We picked from their many stencils and traced in pencil the lines for our drawing, then they showed us how to use the wax to draw. We had to split our experience in two days due to our time constraints, and the staff were very accommodating. They helped go through our wax outlines again to make sure there were no gaps and leaks. The next day, we came back to paint with the dye. We were told that the dye is industrial dye, so there’s no chance it’ll wash out, which we were very assured by. Three days later. We came back to collect our work, nicely packaged and ready to go! We all chose t shirts (you can pick a tote if you want) and we love them!! Very pleased with the experience and will bring my future tourist friends here too!

Lots of good quality batik products. There was an on-going workshop when we arrived. Want to try it also but was not able to book one. Anyways, batik products here are much expensive due to its high quality.

Highly recommended people to visit this place and experience their workshops! I did a batik tote bag and coloring, the staff members were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed painting on canvas cloth more than the smooth cloth. Hopefully they can have a canvas cloth frame art in the future.

If you are looking for a fun and unique experience to do while traveling in Kuala Lumpur, this workshop is highly highly recommended. The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic about teaching us the techniques of Batek painting. They provided us with all the necessary materials, including the tote bags, paint, brushes, and template design, to trace. The class began with a brief introduction to Batek painting, then, we were given the template design to trace onto the tote bag, which was a great starting point for those of us who were new to Batek painting. The instructors were on hand to help us with any questions or issues that we had during the tracing process. Once we had traced the design, we were shown how to mix the paint and use the brushes to apply the color to our tote bags. The instructors took the time to show us the different techniques for applying the paint, such as using different brush strokes and layering colors, which really helped to bring our designs to life. Overall, the class was a fantastic experience, and it was great to be able to take home a unique and personalized souvenir from our time in Malaysia.

Went for a class which was a lot of fun. Artists were lovely and helpful and fixed my mistakes. Next time I’ll start a lot smaller as I ended up being there for about 4 hours.

Brought a sarong on from them online, the pattern is really pretty but the material of the sarong is quite bad, feels like the bedsheets from the hospital. It wasn’t cheap cost RM198. It’s a shame such beautiful batik patterns use it on a very bad material. Disappointed.

Good experience for batik drawing and colouring here. The workers will explain the procedures nicely and teach us the techniques as well. Well spent time here. Recommended 😊👍

I am a batik lover! I wanted to learn more about batik art and check out the store since batik is different from country to country. I pre-purchased the batik painting class online. I chose the package where you select a pre-made 7”x7” design. The class was ~1 hour which was perfect for me to learn something new and manage my energy at the same time (I am not an artist). The class started off with a brief tour of the studio. Then the instructor walked to my table and gave instructions on mixing colors and how to paint/watercolor; they would walk around throughout the class in case you needed help. Overall, I had fun. I wouldn’t recommend this activity for small kids as it requires patience and some level of artistic dexterity. The shop itself has an overwhelming selection of pre-cut batik fabrics, sarongs, bandannas - and beyond. I purchased a few souvenirs and will be testing the quality of the products in the coming months. Worth stopping by if you’re a batik lover, want to learn about batik, and or just want to grab some souvenirs.

Ordered their face masks online in bulk for presents. Very responsible staff that contacted me immediately when a few of the items ordered were out of stock with suitable suggestions for replacement. Delivery was fast and the face masks were beautiful and exquisitely made. Thanks! P/s: thanks for the free face masks too

No-frills batik workshop with patient and clear instructors who can speak a variety of languages. Able to work at our own pace and stayed beyond the class timing. Do include an extra 3-4 hours' wait (or collection on the 2nd day) if you want them to wash off the wax and chemically set the colours on the fabric for you.
