Pretty space and perfect spot for a chill night out. Food however is just normal, nothing to get excited over. Coffee “mocktail” was alright - something interesting. Slow service cause there were just 2 busy souls manning the entire place, but they were friendly though!

Absolutely gorgeous ambiance, 10/10 for atmosphere and choice of bgm. Would be perfect for a low-key escape (for tea or drinks mainly) from the hustle and bustle. It's quiet during weekdays mainly due to the fact it's more hidden away compared to the other cafes and restaurants around the area. Just look for the Jao Tim sign and subtle doors.

One of the best place in town for live music. Different variety or style you call. But try get those seats in front. The back seats (near coffee machine there) is badly affected by annoying low frequency generated by the aircon compressor. Nice and cozy ambient. Food, room to improve however that is not the main focus for this place.

The atmosphere in this cafe is everything you need on weekend night. Choices of performance & live band are great, perfect for hang out either with your friends or lover. Bear in mind, its a hang out space, so you need to fill your stomach first before you come here as they do not have much options on the food menu.

I enjoyed their cocktails. Old fashioned and perfect manhattan. Attended a jazz evening concert. Nice environment. The down thing is the restaurant only have one gent and ladies. So would be a long queue during concerts time.

This is my first visit to this place. Came to watch a blues rock band perform. I was quite surprised to see how well the place was set up and the interior. Really nice high ceiling space, with a bar near the back. There is food and of course drinks but expect to take a bit of a hit to your wallet. Service was pretty quick, and the wait staff was pretty attentive. It's a really good place to come watch performances. They've got a really good audio setup.

Located near to petaling street. Went there for a jazz orchestra and it was SUPERB! Enjoyed the atmosphere very much as well, but the tables near to the “stage” are arranged closely to one another, maybe that’s the reason I chose to sit beside bar. I suggest to limit max audience, that, will be perfect.

Weekday lunch with zero crowd experience. Food presentation and taste was awesome. The attendants are polite and friendly. The hotel hotel-turn-cafe concept is intriguing and fun, nicer interior setup! Will go for dinner and live band next

Had the opportunity to listen to an amazing jazz band called rhythm break. What an amazing night we had! Had the almond cocktail and a gin and tonic. Drinks were good. The band made our night. Thank you.

Happened to walked in to an ongoing show, so I paid the discounted entrance fees. The music, atmosphere and whiskey sour was soul-healing... Even though my wallet took a heavy hit, but I really enjoyed my time here.

First time here and it was great ! Waiters and waitresses were friendly. Unfortunately one of the waitresses blocked the view during the performances when asking customers to pay for their food and/or drinks. Everyone is seated and the waitress was standing not squatting down or standing to the side. Just my two cents, could this been done during intermission or ask the customers to pay right after they order instead ? Tq

Went there for a performance. The food looks good, but we just had some beers. Great place to watch a performance. The prewar house provide great acoustics and nostalgic feel to the whole performance.

Love the environment and vibes during one of the performance. Recommended to anyone who wants to heal and have a chill night after work. There's food and drinks served here but I was only here for the performance.

Great shows! And love the fact that they have so much variety of it and that it’s often & consistent. So you know you can rely on this if you have no plans on a weekend night. The location is great as well, wine is good. The only 1 star loss is because they don’t offer finger foods. I think a lot of people would’ve liked to listen to shows with some finger foods rather than a whole sandwich or rice bowls 😅

Came here for the second time. Love the vibe and food. Previously attended a night of Adele’s song, very good performance. Came today for Song of Jay Chou, enjoyed the food and vibes. Chloe yuz performed well. Kudos to the pianist and guitarist too! However Yiny’s voice was off pitch and out of tone in multiple songs. Love the place and the performance. Perhaps the experience varies with the singers who perform. Would appreciate if there is proper pick of good singer as we paid for the performance.

Atmosphere: ✅ | Service : ✅ Menu looks good and price was alright - will eat food here next time. Wine and cocktail available. This visit was my 1st time here and came here just in time to order a drink and enjoy the show. 5 mins walk from Pasar Seni MRT/LRT station. Just above a famous noodle shop - I wanna eat there next time. Love the ambiance in Jao Tim. My friends and I were here for a Shanghai Jazz Night. So good! Ticket was RM100. Pls book as a group if you’re coming as a group, as you get a table. Other performances could be RM80. I highly recommend following their IG for the shows.

Most peeps will naturally flock to Mingle or Leaf & Co as they are located on the Ground Floor, but this place is exquisite. JT has a lot of charm, with high ceiling, huge windows, exposed brick walls and don't get me started on how quaint are those spruced up old fashioned light switches. We had wanted the orange poppy seed cake, alas it was not available. The matcha butter toast!👍🏼 Creamy and dreamy. Tip: Look for a golden door.

having a nice evening with a bossa nova concert. actually cool ppl visiting… the place is upstairs and has a nice ambience. drinks and food are normal. service is nice, sometimes a bit thoughtless. it is definitely worth a visit, to my understanding more for a drink or concert.

We had a great jazz night here! Great atmosphere and music. Very reasonable price. We had a dessert which was lovely. The staff were very attentive. Only thing I will say is, I took one sip of my wine and didn't like it, they kindly offered me to swap it to their other option (red which I don't like) or they would charge me for the glass I didn't drink. They have prosecco in various cocktails, but don't offer by the glass. But they were very polite about it all, and it didn't upset the evening. I was just surprised to be charged for something that wasn't consumed. But, I do understand they can't reuse it. Would 100% recommend as a cool bar, and for the music too!

Great ambience with great vocals eventhough is my first time listening non mainstream music like indie folk. It will be great if they add on small eats like tapas in their menu. Add on a qr code for ordering as that won't interrupt the performance. Overall enjoying the music night.

One of the finest live music venues in town. Great vibe, nice drinks, superb acoustics and well-curated performers. There's a fee for their shows but you could tell that the owners actually put in work to bring in performers who are a cut above the others. Great for a fun night out, especially for those who want to explore/support local music performers. Highly recommended!

Jao Tim Overall Rating: 7/10 (😍) Atmosphere: 7/10 (🥹) Place had a subtle entrance, and when we got upstairs it was very well decorated. I enjoyed the whole vintage vibe they had going on with the cashier and everything 🥹🥰 and it was very pleasantly empty. Unlike those places where it is sketchy and empty, I like nice places w little people 🙈 Food Ratings:
Joe Roots 💸rm 16 7/10 (😩🤤) Root beer w 2 shots of espresso. This was absolutely amazing. I have never seen a concoction like this but it was really magnificent 🤤 Definitely a must order if you love root beer Iced Latte 💸rm 13 6.5/10 (🤤) Ngl, its been a long time since I had good coffee. I did not expect them to serve good coffee either because I have been disappointed time and time again from overhyped cafes. But their latte was great, it had nutty notes and that pleasant bitter aftertaste 😋 Service: 7/10 (😊) Servers were friendly and helpful 😊👍🏼 Parking: Parking on this street is always difficult, so take the first left when you see a parking signboard. Its Rm4 per hour. TL;DR I spent rm29 for both drinks and it truly amazed me, would like to try their cakes the next time around 🤩 they seem to have a lot of musical events in the evening as well. Yours truly, ig @choubyeats

Can’t give full stars since my main purpose there was to listen to the Genshin showcase so I didn’t get to fully interact with the staff nor did I eat much haha But the vibes were IMMACULATE. The place feels safe at night since it’s a very “happening” area. For parking, there’s an outdoor parking on the left just another 50m that isn’t recorded on Google maps, it’s more expensive, but since it’s out in the open, you may feel safer after a night show since you can be seen by everyone. But don’t come too late, you might miss a parking spot

Very cool. And they support the local jazz music scene. Good drinks and nice looking cakes. Will try their food the next time. Jon, the owner knows his music and he allows vaping in the main area. Smoking room near the toilet if you prefer deathsticks.

Food menu is a bit limited, but so far everything I've had there is good. A bit on the pricey side, but expected for the area. Where this place really excels though is for the shows, stellar performers every time I've been. Will keep coming back for sure!

Simple menuin a wonderful interior. Friendly staff and because they have spread things out due to the SOP it feels very spacious. It's a real treat to have the evening sun shining through the huge day windows casting shadows against the preserved brick walls. Very atmospheric.

Here for a contemporary jazz session . It was entertaining. My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves . It ran for 3 hours including 30mins intermission. Tix price was Rm90 per pax. Vocal is by Ywenna. She's good and engaging. The band is WVC Jazz Ensemble. Pianist was so good . Very entertaining show overall as they also invited their musician friends to play the piano like a jamming sesh.. Would recommend if you have not been to Jaotim for their jazz shows. Drinks are charged separately.
