Easy to find with the bright signboard outside the restaurant. You can park your car around the school area and make sure no double park la. Avoid this Wilson Parking - look at the rate on the weekend. As this parking space no security and half gated and no lights. For this dessert shop - we ordered the almond with black sesame & peanut paste. Overall not bad. 4 ⭐️ / 5 ⭐️ Staff are friendly except the boss wearing glasses seems to be grumpy. My table is seated near the pastry counter and when he help a customer pick up a pastry and he accidentally drop on the floor. He start cursing 🤬 - my reaction 😅😅

Tong sui shop specialising in the 'paste' variety. Among the specialties are peanut, almond, black sesame, and walnut. Flavours aren't overly rich, except for the almond (but maybe I'm biased here cause I'm not a fan). Orders take 15-20 minutes to fulfil (with the exception of the steamed egg which is smooth and eggy) because they will serve each bowl with random tong sui art. The art is available for the single and mixed flavours. The shop is full of knick knacks and antiques. Plenty of seating, both inside and outside.

The desserts here are thick and yummy. It's not too sweet, just nice. The shop looks like in era 1960s, you can see old photos of the ancestors displayed here. Very unique indeed. If you're a big fan of Black Sesame, Peanut, Almond and Walnut desserts, this is the place.

The prawn noodle can choose to be spicy or not spicy. I have ordered the spicy one and it isnt really tasty. The soup doesnt have the taste of prawn shell. It is juz purely spicy. There are pork slice, prawn and han choi inside the noodle. It cost me RM8. The tong shui here is very nice. I ordered the black sesame soup. The taste isnt very strong and is not thick enough. But at least it is very cheap. Its price is only RM3.50 which is a good price compare to those selling inside the shopping mall. One thing very good about this shop is that it have a strong 人情味. That time i see theres one customer fell down at the shop due to heavy rain. The customer have broke one of the bowl in the shop. The staff there quickly go and support the customer to stand up and let that person rest at the shop. They only care about the safety of the customer and didnt argue for the customer to pay for the broken bowl. I am very touched to see this scene. I can feel how friendly and caring the local is in this shop.

No doubt the peanut, sesame paste taste good and smooth. However better bring your own spoon there. One of the foreign worker that serve dessert to customers is terrible and rude. When I told the spoon is dirty, told me this is the original condition of the spoon, show black face and ask me to take another spoon (last) on the tray which is also dirty. Later on I saw her raise her voice to next table customer. Service rated as negative if possible, do not show your temper to customer even good biz. Should get fired

Thanks to a friend for introducing me to this amazing dessert shop in Pudu, Ruby Dessert Shop. The shop is packed at night and seats will be hard to come by. But this shop is really a must-try. Master Ricky Kan is also famously known as KING of Chi Ma Wu in Malaysia especially in the capital of Kuala Lumpur. He is the pioneer master chef for the secret recipe of the Chinese traditional dessert; Creamy Steamed Egg Custard, Black Sesame Paste, Peanut Paste, Almond Paste & Walnut Paste which has been handed down through 4 generations. Check out their dessert art. Apparently every serving is a unique design.

Tried out this place for dessert after lunch together with my colleagues. Enjoyed it and had a good time there. The dessert tasted good as I had the combination of both peanut and black sesame. The owner makes it with those cute designs of animals which made it a little bit more special.

This place offer decent walnut and black sesame paste dessert, most places taste like some factory made powdery taste. They did put some effort to make some dessert art for you.

Famouse place for zhimahu in Pudu area. Very impressed with the art displayed considering the charges (Definitely put many famous dessert / cafes / franchises to shame) Ordered the Sesame + Walnut and Sesame + Peanut. Enjoyed them a lot. Pros - Good food - Beautiful art on the dessert - Very reasonably priced Cons - Haven't found anything negative to say This is a must go if you are around Pudu area looking for local dessert.

You won't miss this iconic stall front with it bright and bold signs. They serve mostly paste desserts and egg custard. Me and my wife love their sesame and almond paste. Not overly sweet yet, still retain the almond and sesame fragrance. Where else can you find the bear from five nights at Freddy on your dessert. Look at my picture if you don't believe it. Do remember to heat it up if you take out or it won't taste as good was what the boss told us.

If you want to try traditional Chinese dessert called "wu", there black sesame - hak Chee ma wu, peanut - fah sang wu , this is one place that you can go. Taste not the best but good enough.

A very nostalgic place for traditional dessert, sesame walnut almond and peanut paste. Not very sweet and quite a convenient place for the shop and a lot of eateries. But the price not cheap.

The place has limited seats to dine in. It do have other noodle stalls but it is famous for the dessert. They sells dessert soup "Tong Sui" (糖水) like Sesame with Peanut (芝麻糊-花生糊) , Walnut with Almond (核桃糊-杏仁糊) , steam eggs (焞蛋) Nowadays, they even crafts some design on it to make it more fancy and Instagram-able. The place also display some vintage stuffs like the hand grind stones, old TV, bicycle and few lion dance heads. And apparently I saw picture of them selling in Westin hotel too. Parking is a challenge there. You may need to go around few times or park further from the restaurant.

We ordered sesame and peanut as well as peanut and almond paste. A perfect dessert to have after any meal with the sweet and savoury flavours of the paste topped with a whimsical and cute art will make you crave for it some more. This dessert perfectly captures the flavour of our relationship, sweet and savoury whilst being cute together. A memorable dessert for a perfect date with the best girl I could have asked for.

Uncle Kan is friendly and shared with us that they continue the tradition by grinding the ingredients with the stone grinder. You’ll see it in the shop. The desserts (almond & walnut, almond & black sesame) ordered have the classic delicious taste.

Like the decoration of this shop, check it out ... Ordered Almond paste and walnut paste, 5 stars, taste is good , not too sweet . The uncle preparing the dessert must be an artist .. go ans try and you will understand why I said so.

Personally I think 3.9 is overrated. Firstly, limited choices of desserts, secondly the service is depressing. Probably, the service that I get affected the taste of the dessert. The peanut paste is good, smooth and not too sweet, and the black sesame taste okay but scale towards a little bit bitter. My experience with the service, blunt, rude and arrogant. And for sure I won't return to have desserts.

Nostalgic ambience as the place is full of antique. Famous for its creative infusion in traditional desserts. Nice to Instagram and worth a visit. However, be prepared for : 1. Lack of parking & possibility of horrendous traffics around that area 2. Unfriendly bosses and staff as they are overwhelmed with good business (may experiencing/heard cursing 🤬) You may feel like you are in Hong Kong type of cursing experience 🤣 The prawn mee noodle and pork noodle bosses are much gentler 🤓 Worth a try

Black sesame and Peanut desserts were great! Not sweet and good flavour and texture! Run by 5th generation and inside the shop there’s heaps of historic artefacts which are pretty interesting to see. The designs are also really cool!

Chinese desserts Tong Sui with a fun twist - Tried peanut paste, black sesame paste, and almond milk paste; each flavor was a delightful fusion of tradition and innovation. A visual and tasty treat! 🎨👌 Highly recommended!

Colorful store, with antiques at one corner of the shop. This is the place to have traditional Chinese desserts. The artistic presentation is a pleasant experience.

Nice dessert shop. Must try the various sweet soup. They took the effort to draw your face, i think. After many visits... Still tasted good except when the usual artist not around that the stand in drew, not looked alike but the efforts she puts in.

Decent but can be richer in taste. I had a bowl of walnut paste with sesame paste (7 rm). My serving was beautifully drawn by a young lady staff.

Best sesame dessert I have ever tried in my life! Not only the taste but also the presentation! They made my face on top of my dessert. Just amazing!

Dessert shop in Pudu established in 1927... The dessert is not as sweet as previously which is good... They have varieties of dessert from black sesame, peanut, almond and etc... They still use the traditional way to grind the juice out... Their steam egg is also a must try

Wow - coffee barista artists have nothing over this traditional Chinese nut paste dessert guy! He carefully ladled and layered the almond paste, the walnut paste into my bowl, and then took a few more seconds with a tiny spoon, dabbing in black sesame paste, to create the design! Ruby has been dishing it up since 1927 🙂 It was delicious, barely sweet and the almond flavor, and aroma was incredible. The walnut was really smooth. Super healthy dessert since you’re supposed to eat some nuts every day for good health! I’ll have to come back & try the black sesame paste, the peanut paste, and the steam egg dessert 🙂 Update - came back 3 days later and had the steamed egg - not too sweet and wonderfully soft/silky. However, it retained much of the egg aroma (very eggy), maybe some vanilla would made it even better :)

"Taste not good, no need to pay" a very bold statement by any standard and absolute assurance to would be customers. Decorative items in the shop exude an aura of antiquity. The 3 bowls of traditional Chinese dessert namely : black sesame, almond and steamed egg custard with the right viscosity were consumed with much gusto. Not paying is definitely not an option.

Take away Black sesame paste (rm5), almond paste (rm7). Very disappointing to me. Terrible taste, no sesame flavour at all and way too sweet for me. The almond paste slightly better but still taste very flat to me. Hard to believe this is the taste of “iconic”…And the portion is quite small too for this price. Will not recommend and return.

Ordered 2 yuan yang's - peanuts almond and sesame walnuts. Superb! The prawn noodles so-so whereas pork noodle soup nice ok-lah (slightly on the sweet side). Overall worth the trip. Good experience😉

Ideal place to get some Chinese tong shui for tea time. Can order the paste separately or mix 2 different paste in a bowl. There is a stall beside it selling variety choices of Chinese pastry. Egg tart is a must to try! Above expectation I can say 😋
