A close mimic of real German food as the owner himself is German. Most of the selections are great, but sandwiches could come with more ingredients considering the price charged. Portions could also be improved. The apple pie is slightly too sweet for my liking, and needs a little more buttery kick to lift the flavours. The Germano coffee has a rich, and smooth flavour so this is recommended. On the service, staff are super friendly and helpful. The environment is also clean and hygienic.

Came for brunch on Sunday. There was a queue but there's seats for you to wait. Since the restaurant is not very big, expect to wait a bit until a table clears due to the physical distancing measures in place. I ordered the Strammer max while my wife ordered a sunny meatloaf. We both enjoyed our meals and thought it was delicious. I ordered the apple strudel which looks and tastes good. The coffee here tastes good, although a little bit more expensive than average. Even though it was a full house, service was friendly and pleasant. Overall, a good experience.

this is my go-to bakery whenever I visit KL. Best bread in KL for sure. In a space where everyone is focusing on sourdough only, DB makes ALL kinds of bread so earnestly that u can taste the love. everytime we visit, it's at least 4 loaves of bread that we must buy back to singapore.

Got a table but place was pretty crowded at 11 am on a Sunday morning. Coffee aroma was strong, welcoming! Order at the counter and the food came fairly quickly. Portions are decent too.

A very popular bakery in TTDI. Came here for breakfast and while the bread (which is the main selling point) was very good, the breakfast itself was rather mediocre. Coffee was good though according to my girlfriend. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, offered great customer service. I'd probably come here again, but I'll just try their bread selection and pastry rather than eat a proper meal. Parking in TTDI is a nightmare, so plan your travels accordingly.

Loved having brunch and lunch here. Dropped by 2 times in a row to get my hands on some of their food. Simple and delicious German sandwiches and meatloaf. Definitely will come again. Laid back and easy going place. Parking may be an issue for some so do carpool! Photos are of the ham and cheese sandwich which is massive. The meatloaf and an iced cappuccino.

I just love the menu. Whtever we ate truly felt like it was carefully selected, and fresh. The coffee was really good too. And thank God for human service, not QR code or scan to order and all that. Will be back.!

What a cute place for a homey breakfast but make it German style. The goulash definitely chef kisses and all the food just hits home but whats best? HOT CHOCOLATE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD AND NOT EVEN KIDDING!

Mixed Fruit Danish is good, not too sweet and fruits are fresh. Chocolate Pistachio Danish is quite special and it tastes really delicious. I ordered Bruschetta for the main, simple and tasty. The salmon and tuna are the best match with their freshly baked bread. Not that kind of typical cafe breakfast, worth trying. German breakfast with surprisingly reasonable price.

We discovered this nice place since 2015 and are always our most favorite place for breakfast. The staff are very friendly, feel like home in here. I always bring my friends and family to introduce them to my husband's typical foods. And they all are amazed definitely. It's considered healthy and fresh foods, bread, and all ingredients. Dark chocolate milk is our all-time favorite. Big breakfast that we can't miss and share it with adding on croissants. You have to come here early morning, late afternoon all bread usually sold out. That's why we can always get fresh german bread from here. Mukris and Wife are amazing persons. They greet everyone who come in, and this is how restaurant supposed to be. Thank you for bringing in German culture to Malaysia.

We chanced upon this bakery on Saturday morning and decided to give it a try. The place is pretty packed on weekends morning but we managed to get a table pretty quickly. There are not a lot of parking spaces near the location of the shop so be prepared to park further away. The food tastes okay but it is overpriced. The portion is small as well. We ordered Munich bretzel and egg & avocado sandwich with tea bread. The tea bread was ordinary, probably should have chosen another bread. The bretzel tastes good and authentic. There are indoor and outdoor sitting in the shop. They have a grill inside the shop and it makes us smells like grease after dining in. So, if you are visiting, probably outdoor sitting is advisable. Staff are very polite and efficient.

I came with high expectation after reading numerous favourable reviews from here. My breakfast was bratwurst with bun, chocolate croissant and latte for RM 37.1. The latte was too mild tasting for me. Apparently, the Espresso shot seemed to get lost within the milkiness. The halal bratwurst paired well with the condiments of mustard sauce & pickled cabbage. I don't have an issue with chicken sausage but for a true-blue German bratwurst, I still prefer a porky version hands down. The biggest disappointment was the chocolate croissant. It had a bread-like texture, and was neither buttery nor flakey like what a respectable croissant ought to be. But if that was meant to be an authentic German-style croissant then I am certainly not a fan. The service crew was super friendly and helpful. However, the food was mediocre at best. I thought may be because I didn't try their "signature" menu items i.e. bread. As a last attempt to do them justice before Ieaving, I picked up a bag of their bread selection comprising 3 kinds of pre-sliced bread at RM 16.9. If I remembered correctly from what the staff told me, they were tea bread, multigrain and sourdough. I tried the bread when I got home, and they were quite good. Having said that, there are other bakeries/eateries in the area that also offer quality breads.

Whenever you're in TTDI, don't hesitate to patronize Der Backmeister (the Master Baker) along Persiaran Zaaba. It's a must-try German cafe (Muslim friendly / Halal) you'll simply love as their breads and pastries are remarkably fresh and delicious, baked daily without any added sugars. Splendid for the health conscious / weight watchers 🤗 As you enter the cafe you're greeted by their warm and friendly staffs, and owners, Nora & Khris (German). 😃 We had a truly hearty English breakfast ie. scrambled eggs, German sausage and bread. Cappuccino was perfect while the eggs and sausage cooked just right. Though we spent a little more, it was certainly worth the meal and dining experience. The interior is simple, clean and well lighted. Definitely coming back to sample their breads and pastry. Do refer to pictures for details/information.

Loved the food here. I really enjoyed the selection of bread, dark choco drink and apple strudel. Would love to try the other items on the menu next time. The portions are generous and the price is decent. The owners and staff are all very friendly. Pleasant dining experience - would be returning soon.

We had black coffee, flat white & tuna melt sandwich. Love the coffee as it’s up to my taste which not the fruity type. Sandwich with grain bread was delicious 😋 will definitely come back to try out other dishes.

Der Backmeister is a German bakery that truly impresses. Their blackberry jam is simply amazing, bursting with flavor. The apple strudel is a delightful treat, perfectly balanced and delicious. Every item feels incredibly fresh, and their sourdough bread is an absolute standout, with a heavenly aroma and delightful texture. Their service is also excellent. I highly recommend Der Backmeister for an unforgettable bakery experience!

Have always visited this place but nv gave a review. German style bakery and food if u like. Breads and pastries are yummy. The sandwiches were awesome. Had beef rendang and ham + cheese with ciabatta. The food portion is generous cos I had to share the sandwich, couldn't fin it myself. The staff was very friendly and told us not to order too much cos their sandwiches are huge. The restaurant is always pack especially during peak hours. Parking here is horrible.

Late lunch at this german deli. First visit therefore ordered their Backmeister breakfast, as their apple strudel are sold out ordered 2 danish pastry as consolation. Drinks were cold dark chocolate and latte. Their breakfast was huge one plate for all the cold cuts and another basket for the bread 😋. Can easily feed 2 person. The pastry was ok and drinks were good especially the chololate which was full flavoured without overpowering sweet. Staffs are friendly and helpful with suggestion for us 1st timer 👍 Definitely merit further visit as rarely comes across authentic European deli.

Der Backmeister German bakery in TTDI was full when we were there. The german Baker himself was on the cashier, and friendly helped us on our order. The remaining staffs were also friendly and gave great service through out our stay there. Now to the food... We ordered the meatloaf, sandwich, the Laugen Bun (as the Laugen Bretzl Was finish already), few type of croissants and afterwards ordered Frikadelle on bread in addition. Really special was the meatloaf, a.k.a Leberkäs, served with mustards, including original bayerische Süßer Senf. Eating it brought us straight back to Germany. The breads were also good, yet the croissant and sandwiches were good but not more special than other decent European Bakery. The black coffee was also very good. A bit disappointing was the Frikadelle, despite tastes not bad, however the consistency was not solid enough for a German Frikadelle. In overall, it was a nice breakfast especially for those missing the German stuff.

The staffs were polite , the food was good ! The portion was big too. At par with the price paid. I'd appreciate water to be served when you dine in. Besides that the bread is fresh and nice.

Located in a bustling but pretty and shady part of TTDI der backmeister is realistically about as authentic for this sort of Germanic cuisine as you're going to get in Malaysia. Perhaps If I was German I might be more critical but as I'm not to my British eyes both in terms of its appearance and the food was pretty much the real article - I believe it's owned by a German too. To drink we both had flat whites which to my slight surprise were excellent and decent size. Sometimes in a bakery type place the quality of the coffee is secondary and it shows but not here - I was impressed by this alone. I think I possibly ordered slightly the wrong thing in a camembert and apple sandwich as for me camembert is better melted whereas you don't really toast German bread. Also it's an expensive ingredient here so the portion was a bit smaller than I hoped for in terms of filling - probably to bring it in at a reasonable price point it has to be slightly smaller though. Nothing wrong with it by any means because it was undeniably good but my wife's avocado and egg sandwich I found tastier and bigger plus I think cheaper also. Personal taste though partly of course. We ordered some cranberry bread to takeaway which was delicious - there's a very big and appealing looking range of breads and pastries etc to take home. The cinnamon roll looked incredible and I think was only 7rm - will be returning to try that with a coffee sometime for sure - my wife liked the look of the chocolate croissant which was also huge. Service was noticeably excellent - seemed like a well trained and happy team. Though I've known about this place for years was my first time but I think a lot of people there are regulars and even at 8:30 on a Saturday it was busy. However this gave it a lovely, friendly atmosphere I think. Food came out quickly and basically at the same time. Price wise for bigger food reasonable for the product and area most sandwiches around 25rm and coffee 12rm - other options range from teens to around 40rm for biggest breakfast though that looked incredible - perhaps I'll come here really hungry one day and order that. Parking is mad round there especially on a weekend we came at 8:30 and there were just a few spaces left by 9am you'll either need luck or to walk a bit unless you're getting dropped off or lucky enough to live nearby. Overall brilliant place and I look forward to returning for that cinnamon roll possibly more soon.

Used to be a fan of this place and came almost weekly during MCO to do takeaways but haven't been here in a while. The recent trip was unpleasant. Coffee was tepid and the ham and cheese croissant while generous in size was chewy, dry and bland. My friend's meatloaf looked like a cheap cafeteria meal. The service used to be great: attentive, friendly and quick. Staff during this visit seemed distracted and even annoyed when we asked for water. Saving grace is that it's a nice place for a conversation.
