Loved this place. No parking charges. No entry fee for fort. Prepare to walk if you wish to visit the whole fort. You will be walking inside deep forest area. On to the sides of your walk, you can see the pebble beach, which is must visit place. You will enjoy the walk towards the beach and the view. Also you can collect some cute pebbles. There is a church located inside the fort. That was closed during our visit. Best time to visit would be june, july, august where crowd will be less and much more greenish view.

Historical Fort and breath taking views of the Cabo De Rama Fort. No entree charge! Just register your name at the entrance! It's in the South Goa, so prepare to take a long road trip from where you are! Green Azure waters are worth the trip! Cabo de Rama Fort has a rich past, dating back to Hindu and Portuguese reigns, with remnants of old structures and a peaceful church. Its serene atmosphere and scenic beauty make it perfect for a tranquil getaway.

Visited Cabo De Rama fort for the second, but this time along either my family and friends. The fort has 2 view points, one right from the main entrance showcasing Portuguese cannons and the other one straight from the entrance towards the pebble beach. I would recommend the visitors to visit this place during golden hours(evening) around 4.30pm- 5.00pm to enjoy the beautiful sunset. There is a old white Anthony church in the premises, good place to click photos. The pathway inside the premises is rough so it is advisable to wear good shoes while going towards the pebble beach. Viewpoint near the pebble beach is the best.

Fort has nothing much to see inside, but the location of the fort gives a very good vantage point to view the Arabian sea and pebble beach from above. Overall it is a good place to visit, the best time to visit is November to April. Please be careful of the rocks that protrude from the pavement while walking inside the fort. You may get injured if any mis-step is taken! ⚠️

The much Famous Cabo De Rama Fort is located in the Cancona region. A very famous point of visit in South Goa region, it offers stunning sea + Sunset views, is a truly paradise offering for its visitors, that too without paying any cost. Also it hosts the hidden gem of South Goa, Pebble Beach inside it. Also if you love exploring, walk along its boundary wall and you'll get to see beautiful sea & cliff views. Also adhere to the timings mentioned on Google, as it opens for fixed hours. PS:- Make sure to visit the Fort & Pebble Beach for stunning views.

This is very famous place in south goa. One can enjoy fort and pebble beach at this place. There is no entry ticket But you will have to make entry by showing ID prof. There is a chapel (small church) inside and fort. To go to pebble beach you have to walk down which might be difficult for some. The view is breathtaking, it's clean and beautiful. Sea water with sand but surrounded by pebbles. Wear comfortable shoes and try to visit early morning or late evening.

Cabo de Rama Fort is a historic fort located in South Goa, India, offering a blend of history, legend, and breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. Named after Lord Rama, who is believed to have stayed here during his exile (as per legend). The fort has changed hands between Hindu rulers, the Portuguese (who rebuilt it in the 17th century), and the British. It once housed a military garrison and later served as a prison. What to See Ruins of the fort: Including old turrets and remnants of the Portuguese-era buildings. Chapel of St. Anthony: Still active, peaceful spot inside the fort. Panoramic Views: The cliff-top location offers stunning vistas of the sea and coastline, especially at sunset. Secluded beaches: Cabo de Rama Beach lies just below the fort, a serene and less-crowded spot. Tips for Visitors Wear comfortable shoes – some parts of the fort are rugged. Carry water and snacks – limited options nearby. Ideal time to visit: early morning or just before sunset for views and cooler weather.

we got the chance to witness stunning view of the sunset form the fort and it was breathtaking. Some old cannon was there. Inside the fort there is a small Church. Good place to explore, recommend to walk down to Pabbles beach. Note: No entry fees Parking is there. Few small food vendors are there at entry Gate. A cafe is also inside the fort and its function when we visited there. Be aware to when you walking down to the beach.

Beautiful and scenic spot. You can spend a whole day sitting in this peeble beach with the soothing sound of waves and the waves hitting the rocks and making the soothing sound to ears and soul. Please make a note that this beach does not have any lifeguards and other safety precautions. This spot is good for scenic photography and videography. You have to go down a steap steps to enjoy the beach waves.

Drove a long way to reach the fort and the views from the top was worth it. Road is being widened and hopefully that will attract tourists. For new drivers the curves of the hill will test their skill. To see the sunset reach by 5 pm. No entry after that. Nothing spectacular about the fort though but the beach is worth visiting. It's a long way down though but would recommend to visit Cola /Khola beach nearby

A historical place. There is litre present in many places due to low civic sense of poor culture of Indians. A juice packet was seen inside the canon, so just imagine. There is a waste collection just infront of the main entrance which was in the past filled with sea water when the fort was active. But the view from the top is just priceless. The serenity and calmness cannot be seen elsewhere in the urban Goa. However, could be more well maintained. There is a small place where maggi and refreshments are available during the walk down to the beach from the inside of the fort.

Its serene. The fort is nice, it's in ruins. There are beautiful views from the fort. There is a small trek down for the pebble beach, steps are not proper, however it's not that difficult. Seniors can avoid. The view down is beautiful. You should reach there in time as entry is not allowed post 5:30 pm Pls do not litter.

We visited this place when we were travelling from south Goa to North Goa. We had stopped there in the morning and just felt like we were the only one on the beach. The fort was not that much worth visiting but the Pebble beach was mesmerizing. The road towards the Pebble beach goes through the fort itself and you need to take 30 to 40 steps down to reach the Pebble beach. Once you reach there you just get lost in the view and the atmosphere here.... The beach usually attracts less crowd as it's not that much exploring. We got many Pebble from here as a souvenir from here.... There's a Security Guard at the entrance of the fort who records your check-in and check-out time along with your ID details , I don't know for what purpose. There is enough parking available here. You can easily spend 1 to 2 hours exploring here. Definately recommend in your South Goa Trip...

Cabo de Rama Fort is an interesting historical spot with a few points that offer truly beautiful panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding greenery. Standing on those viewpoints, you really get a sense of the natural charm Goa is famous for, and it makes for some wonderful photo opportunities. That being said, the fort itself is not very well maintained. Once inside, it’s quite easy to get confused about where to go, as there are no clear signs or anyone around to guide visitors. You might find yourself wandering aimlessly at times, unsure if you’re heading toward a viewpoint or just circling around empty ruins. A bit of restoration and some information boards would definitely enhance the experience. I’d recommend visiting Cabo de Rama Fort only if you’re already planning to see Cabo de Rama Beach, which is just nearby and very beautiful. The fort by itself doesn’t demand a special trip, but when paired with a beach visit, it adds some historical flavor to the day.

Its a very beautiful fort with a very good view. I would recommend to visit there during the monsoon cause it's less humid. There's no entry fee but there are gaurds in the entrance of the fort who write down your details like your name, phone number, number of people and check your ID card. They assign you a number which we have to say when we come back and make a note in a register. Inside the fort is the famous pebble beach. You need to trek a bit downhill for that. The closing time is 6:00PM before which you have to come back. There are few shops outside the fort.

This place offers three main attractions: 1. The Fort - At the fort entrance, a security guard will record the number of visitors and note down the ID details of one group member. The fort greets you with a couple of old cannons, which, despite their age, are fascinating to see. 2. The Old Church - A short two-minute walk leads you to a well-maintained, picturesque old church that’s worth a visit. 3. The Pebble Beach - After a five-minute walk, a set of stairs takes you down to the pebble beach. Be sure to wear proper shoes if you plan to visit.

Cabo de Rama Fort – A Peaceful Escape in South Goa Located in South Goa, Cabo de Rama Fort is one of those places that beautifully combines history with breathtaking natural views. The fort offers a stunning panoramic sight of the Arabian Sea, with cool breeze and quiet surroundings that make it a peaceful escape from the busier beaches of North Goa. The structure itself is mostly in ruins, but the charm lies in its simplicity and the serene vibe it carries. There’s also a small church inside the fort that adds a touch of heritage and calm to the experience. It’s a great spot for photography and sunset views, though there aren’t many facilities around, so it’s best to carry water or light snacks with you. Overall, Cabo de Rama Fort is perfect for those who love scenic landscapes, history, and a little solitude — a true hidden gem in South Goa.

This fort is located in south goa. This place gives us panoramic sight of sea, here we can see a church in the fort. The name is the church is St. Antony church. This fort does not have tickets(entry fee). The guard just take your details like name, no. Of people and they require your id. We can enjoy the best sunset over here. The fort is clean and calm you can relax here and enjoy the sunset. The best time to visit this fort will be monsoon because of its greenery. We can also go down through the fort to enjoy the pebble beach which is not for beginners. A small cave with smooth black pebbles instead of sand. This can be more beautiful. This is true hidden place. This fort is well maintained and it also has plenty of parking outside the fort. If you are lucky enough then you can also see peacock here. The last entry here is at 5.30pm and you can stay inside the fort till 6.30pm, so better manage your time. You can enjoy the nature and click amazing pictures over here.

Cabo de Rama Fort is one of the most scenic spots in South Goa, offering a breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea from its ramparts. Though the fort itself is mostly in ruins, the charm lies in its raw, untouched beauty and the serenity it offers. The road leading to the fort is marvellous, surrounded by lush greenery and glimpses of the coastline, making the journey itself an experience. A peaceful place to soak in nature and history, best enjoyed during sunset.

Cabo de Rama, a historic fort in South Goa, offers stunning panoramic views, a church, multiple viewpoints, and access to Pebbles Beach. Entry is free, but visitors must present valid ID proof. Exploring the fort involves some walking, so carry water and sun protection if visiting during the day. While the beach is to the far left upon entering, the fort also features cannons and other viewpoints on the right, which are worth exploring. Though the directions to certain attractions like the cave were unclear during our visit, the overall experience of the fort, surrounded by lush greenery, made for an enjoyable outing. Maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility, so do your part when visiting this well-preserved site.

I visited Cabo de Rama Fort in Canacona, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable spots of our trip. The fort sits atop a dramatic cliff-cape, with sweeping views of the Arabian Sea. Wandering along the old bastions, I felt the weight of centuries of history — from legends of Rama and Sita, through the Soonda rulers, to the Portuguese era and even its time as a prison. What really stood out were the old cannons still in place, the whitewashed chapel of St Anthony quietly functioning inside the walls, and the viewpoint that is absolutely perfect for a sunset. Although the fort is partly in ruins and not over-commercialised, that’s part of its charm — you get peace, space to reflect, and spectacular nature all around. If you go, try to arrive a little before sunset, wear good shoes for uneven ground, bring water and a camera, and give yourself time just to sit and soak in the view. For me, this place felt like a hidden gem — historic, scenic, and soothing.

Nothing too much to watch on this fort except "The Pebbles Beach" which comes right after the church. Pebbles beach is not relaxing but views are stunning. Shoes are recommended as need to walk on pebbles, so many steps and there are so many crabs underneath stones. Parking is free of cost; snacks/fruits/drinks are available at entrance of fort at reasonable cost with online payment availability; Also, some food/drinks available on the steps to pebbles beach; network might not be available at all places so make sure to download maps; the road is long and also lot of steep downs and ups to reach here without petrol pumps nearby, so make sure to keep half a tank filled before starting your journey.

I absolutely loved my visit to Cabo de Rama Fort! It’s such a peaceful spot compared to the usual touristy places in Goa. The fort itself is pretty cool, with old ruins and a small chapel to check out. But the best part for me was the view. You can see the Arabian Sea stretching out, and it’s just stunning, especially at sunset. The road up is a bit bumpy, but once you get there, it's all worth it. If you’re looking for a quiet place to escape and take in some history, this is the spot!

Nice Place to spend time with your family. But plan a visit in a way so that you have 3-4 hours in hand when you visit this place. Reason: this fort closes at 6 pm. Also, when you try to return. Plan a stop at "The Cape Goa" Restaurant. Very Nice sunset view from this location.

Lots of beautiful memories here, once upon a time this place had different vibes. I have spent beautiful times with friends n family. But now it is a hotspot for local tourists. No calmness. But one thing 😅 they have started maintaining the place. Earlier even after requesting no one used to bother to clean.

The fort itself is quiet and raw, not overly restored or touristy — which is exactly what makes it beautiful. You can still feel the weight of history in the broken walls, yet nature has completely taken over in the best way possible. Monsoon greenery everywhere, and the sea stretching endlessly in every direction. If you catch it at sunset, you're in for something magical. But the real surprise? Pebbles Beach — a hidden gem just below the fort. It’s not easy to reach (a bit of a climb down), but absolutely worth it. A tiny cove with smooth black pebbles instead of sand, waves crashing against the rocks, and barely a soul around. It felt like stepping into a secret world. Tip: Wear good shoes, carry water, and take your time exploring. There's no commercial setup here — and that’s the best part. Cabo de Rama isn’t just a place you see. It’s one you feel.

Cabo de Rama Fort is a peaceful and scenic spot in South Goa, away from the busy touristy areas. The fort itself is mostly in ruins, but it carries a lot of history and charm. The highlight is definitely the stunning panoramic view of the Arabian Sea—you can just sit and enjoy the breeze for hours. There’s also a small church inside the fort that’s still in use and adds to the calm vibe of the place. The walk inside the fort is easy, but it’s best to wear comfortable shoes since some paths are uneven. It’s not as crowded as other forts in Goa, which makes it perfect if you’re looking for peace and photography spots. Parking is available, but there are no big food stalls inside, so carrying water or snacks is a good idea. Overall, a must-visit if you love history, nature, and quiet places in Goa!

Cabo de Rama Fort is easily one of the most stunning historical sites in South Goa, offering a perfect blend of rich history and genuinely breathtaking coastal views. Unlike the often-crowded North Goa forts, this site provides a tranquil, dramatic experience that is absolutely worth the drive. The fort stands on a cliff edge, providing a spectacular, sweeping 360-degree panorama of the Arabian Sea. From the weathered ramparts, you can witness the coastline stretch for miles, including distant views of Palolem and its neighboring beaches. It is perhaps the single best place in South Goa to catch a sunset; the ocean view combined with the ancient ruins creates an incredibly photogenic and serene moment. While the fort itself is mostly ruins, the ancient stone walls, massive gates, and the preserved church of Santo Antônio inside (still active today) speak volumes about its turbulent history under various rulers, including the Portuguese. The atmosphere is deeply peaceful and restorative, making it an excellent spot for quiet reflection, reading, or simply enjoying the sea breeze. Key Highlights: Location: Dramatic cliffside setting offering uninterrupted coastal views. Vibe: Tranquil, historic, and ideal for escaping crowds. Photography: A paradise for landscape and sunset photography. If you are traveling through South Goa, make sure to allocate an afternoon to visit Cabo de Rama. Arrive about an hour before sunset, walk the ramparts, soak in the history, and claim your spot for a view you won't soon forget.

Goa tourism please do something about this. This place needs different timings for summer n non summer. 9:30am in late March is already blazes hot n the fort does not open before that. So very sad. It should open at 6am for people to be able to explore it's several climbs up and down and take in the views. Also please put up clear signs indicating way to beach, pebble beach, walls n turrets at the entance, as soon as you enter fort complex. The twin banyan trees provide visitors so much shade and solace, thank you for conserving them.
