天正十八年(1590)豊臣秀吉による小田原の北条征伐において、忍城が攻められた際、髙城神社も災禍に遭い社殿を焼失しそうです。
その後の寛文十一年(1671)に再建されれましたが、それは忍城主であった阿部豊後守忠秋が「髙城神社は式内社」であることから社殿再興を図ったことがきっかけとのことです。
先の大戦時には空襲により本殿、拝殿、お手水以外焼失したようですが逆に神様のおかげで本殿、拝殿、お手水が残り今に伝わっていると思います。
御祭神は
高皇産霊尊(たかみむすびのみこと)
とのことで御利益は
縁結び、家庭円満、育成健全とのことです。
御朱印は拝殿隣の建物にありますが書き置きのみです。
