2023(令和五年)3/27 13:15~ 潮岬に立ち寄ったあとに本州最南端の牌を見る為こちらの駐車場に車を停めました。 とても綺麗な建物とジオパークセンターと言う名称に惹かれて入場しました。 ここは南紀熊野ジオパークの情報発信や調査研究の拠点となる施設です。センターでは紀伊半島の大型立体模型に火山の噴火など迫力ある映像を投影するプロジェクションマッピング、大地のでき方を再現する体験装置、館内ガイドによる河川や津波の実験などで、南紀熊野の大地の成り立ちや自然の不思議を楽しみながら学ぶことができます。 好印象だったのは川の成り立ちを模型を使って説明してくれた男性係員。とても熱心に且つわかりやすく説明してくれて非常に良かった。 潮岬に来た時にはまた行ってみたい場所ですね。
