Nagashima Spa Land offers an exciting experience with diverse attractions, but plan your visit carefully. Check the ride status beforehand, consider visiting on a weekday to avoid crowds, and be prepared for potential closures due to weather. It's a great option for families and thrill-seekers alike.

Things you should know before visiting

Amazing amusement park and would definitely rather this than universal studios. There were no wait times for any ride and you got into the first ride that came.

Steel Dragon, the massive red roller coaster seen throughout the park was closed. I have been to tons of amusement parks, and have never seen a roller coaster closed for wind. Ever.

By far, one of the better if not the best amusement parks I have ever visited in Japan! Not the best ever, but after going to USJ and Disney Sea, waiting in nearly 3 hour queues if not more, Nagashima Spa Land was a breathe of fresh air. Went on a Thursday, maybe a total of 50 people in the park. The longest we waited for any ride was about 15 minutes. We bought the 5800¥ unlimited ride passport and it was a really good deal for us considering how empty it was. The rides were some of the more thrilling rides I have ever been on in Japan. Much more exciting than anything at the Disney parks and on par with USJ roller coaster-wise. Even the smaller rides were fun to try, we tried to do it all and we stayed until closing. Conveniently, busses right outside the main entrance with a machine to buy tickets. The reason why Nagashima Spa Land loses a star. The largest roller coaster is closed for winds...? Really? Steel Dragon, the massive red roller coaster seen throughout the park was closed. I have been to tons of amusement parks, and have never seen a roller coaster closed for wind. Ever. It was a beautiful, slightly windy day yesterday, and they closed for that? Next, even with low crowds, staff would make you wait to board the ride so more people would get in line. Really? Just run the ride. No need to wait for more people to board the ride. Some of the rides are older, and you can feel it. I was jerked around on some rides and my back got slightly sore because of it. Wasn't a huge issue but it was noticed. Park food is overpriced and not good here. The outlet mall outside has very limited options. Wouldn't recommend. Overall Nagashima Spa Land is a great amusement park. Other than a couple of minor things, you can definetly have a great time here if you plan right.

Amazing amusement park and would definitely rather this than universal studios. There were no wait times for any ride and you got into the first ride that came. Very relaxed in there with no one to race around with. The passport unlimited ride pass was good considering we smashed our around 25 rides in 8 hours. Food in the park was pretty cheap too.

Nagashima Spa Land is one of those places that feels like a universe condensed into a single destination. It is a kaleidoscope of experiences all at once: thrilling rides that flip you upside down and make your stomach question reality, a water park that invites you to float and splash in the sun, and even a shopping area where you can wander and get lost in the little wonders of daily life. And of course, there is Anpanman, smiling his comforting, slightly surreal smile as if to remind you that joy can be simple and pure. Walking through the park, hopping between roller coasters, water slides, and boutiques, it feels like time is bending. One moment you are racing through a loop, the next you are drifting in a lazy river, and then you are sharing a snack with a beloved character. Everything merges together into this flowing, colorful tapestry of delight. Nagashima Spa Land is not just a theme park; it is a reminder that play, wonder, and little moments of magic are essential, and that a single day can contain entire worlds if you let yourself fully step into them.

L❤️ve Nagashima Spa Land!!! Japan's largest amusement park lives up to the hype...it's expansive and its rides unmatched!!! An unbeatable recreational destination for families, rollercoaster enthusiasts and thrill-seekers, NSL is home to some 60 attractions, from tame, kid-friendly to utterly insane options, that are sure to keep the young and the young-at-heart enthralled and engaged. Had planned a two-day visit cuz we knew once would never be enough! Also, weather condition (be it snow, rain, or strong winds, could be a show-stopper anytime. True enough, strong winds on Day 2 resulted in the suspension of Steel Dragon 2000 which prompted us to make a 3rd trip as we hadn't had enough of it!!! *Nice of NSL to hand out two Steel Dragon 2000 priority vouchers (valid now through Dec 30, 2025) to make up for the suspension of SD2000* What a mind-blowing, exhilarating experience riding on the record-breaking Steel Dragon 2000 and world-class wood/steel Hybrid Coaster Hakugei (White Whale)!!! Steel 4D Spin Coaster Arashi, Ultra Twister and Steel -Flying Acrobat and Steel - Pipeline Ultra Twister were excitingly superb, too! Having ridden on these high-adrenaline coasters multiple times over really got our money's worth!!! Long lines between 30- and 75-minute wait for popular rides on weekdays when we visited (expect longer queue during good weather too); fortunately the lines moved fairly quickly. Single-use priority passes @¥1000 each are a good option for those wanting to maximize time and ride more (Note: Passes are limited, while stocks last). With long queues and so little time before the park's closure, completing every thrill attraction that's in operation was a challenge. We've packed as many rides as possible in a short timeframe yet we had to forgo the retro coasters this round. Shuttle Loop, Corkscrew, Ultra Twister and Jet Coaster were either closed during our visits or we're simply out of time! Nonetheless, the entire experience has been a joyous sensory overload!!! When it comes to thrill rides, NSL has set the bar high in its attractions, and exceeded our expectations. For a fun day (or two) with family and friends, be sure NOT to skip this amusement park! And remember to bring souvenirs or gifts home! Fall '25 Returning to NSL is absolutely exhilarating! The amusement park is bustling with visitors and activities this season. We've had 💯 a whale of a time riding Steel Dragon 2000 and Hakugei countless times while soaking in the Halloween atmosphere! The use of 2 x complimentary SD2000 priority vouchers (gotten from last trip) and additional priority passes at ¥1000/ticket is "game-changing" for us to beat the insanely long line (especially when large groups of students join in) and sizzling temperatures! We've had a real blast👍👍👏👏💪💪 Yeah, we can't wait to return!

Amazing amusement park with terrific roller coasters and many more attractions. Perfect place for family outing. Stuffs are friendly and always prioritize safety in high regard. Free lockers are available. During weekend, the waiting time for each rides is quite long, so it’s better to visit in week days.

Good to come with friends and family. The only drawback is that most places inside for food does not accept card payments. So make sure you bring cash with you. Other than that, it is a great place.

Nagashima Spa Land is an excellent amusement park with terrific roller coasters, great food, and wonderful family attractions. Standout rides include Steel Dragon 2000 (the world's longest coaster), Hakugei (a thrilling "hybrid" coaster), Acrobat (a graceful flying coaster) and Giant Frisbee, a spinning pendulum ride. Employees are friendly and always hold safety in high regard, plus they offer lockers for free near certain rides. For lunch, we had curry with white rice in the shape of a whale! Tickets prices were fair, although the park itself can be tricky to get to. We flew 6,000 miles to visit and I'm glad we did - Nagashima is awesome!

Awesome place with breathtaking rides. Due to the rain, we only managed to take the Ferris wheel ride. All the other rides were closed due to inclement weather. Hope I get to ride the Steel Dragon and Hakugei.

The ride operations really drag this park into the ground. Running a single train on all coasters.. and enforcing strange rules makes for an unpleasant park experience. You can’t wait for a front of the ride experience on any of the coasters, and I was one seat away from the front on Steel Dragon riding alone and the person in the very front was also alone.. so I asked if we could ride together and he said “yes that’s no problem, fill up all the cars” so I moved up one with him and the ride attendants came up to me and told me I have to go further back and moved me to the 6th row! Then that train went out with 7 rows of seats with only 1 person in each row rather then filling the rows. Nonsensical and also ruined the ride after waiting over an hour because they have 9 MIN intervals for each train! 9 mins is an extremely long cycle. I’ve never seen a park ran so poorly making the coasters a chore to try to enjoy. Not to mention the coasters seem to be quite old and running rough. They have a lot of attractions closed, and things need a new paint job. Hakugei is the only good ride

Don't be confused by it's name. It's an amusement park, water park, Onsen and hotels all on one large location. Of course, the water park is closed in winter. Crazy fun! Almost no queue at all, longest we had to queue was only 15mins. (Visited 1st week December)Easy to reach via public transport, train and and bus. You can chose to pay for entry only and pay per ride. Or buy a pass that includes all rides. From Google maps you can already see how crazy thrilling the rides are! The looong Steel dragon! Note - those heading to Nagoya station, hop on the bus at the entrance at pickup no. 3

One of the best theme park in the world! Steel dragon 2000 and Hakugei are world class coasters. Definitely worth to add to bucket list for coaster enthusiasts! Recommend to go on weekday Tuesday or Wednesday as you can literally do back to back ride on some of the rides! **Edit: they do have some great merchandise! See photo.

The best way to reach this place is by taking the Meitetsu bus from Nagoya station, but here’s the catch — in the morning, the buses run every 15 minutes, and by noon or 1 PM, the frequency drops to once an hour. So plan carefully! We learned that the hard way and ended up taking a train first to other stayion from Nagoya and then a bus since we reached Nagoya around noon. The bus drops you right in front of Spa Land, which is super convenient. We were told some rides were out of operation, but honestly, we didn’t mind — we just wanted to try the Steel Dragon and Hakugei roller coasters. We managed about 5–6 rides before the rain caused some to close, but wow — Hakugei is hands down the best roller coaster I’ve ever been on! The best part? Not much crowd and shorter waiting times compared to Universal or Disney. If you love roller coasters and thrill rides, this place is an absolute must-visit! 🎢 PS - The outlet stores are like 2 mins walk from exit, and from the evening, the frequency of buses to Nagoya moves to 10-15mins intervals making the journey convenient.

Honesty had a pretty low ranked visit here today. All main roller coasters closed for most of the day due to rain. Also the park closed early due to rain. The rain I would say was light mostly with occasional moderate, and with quite a bit of time no rain. They closed all the main attractions approx one hour before it started raining around 1230pm and didn’t open them again for the rest of the day - Hakugei, steel dragon, 4D, acrobat. I had one ride on acrobat before all the headline coasters closed. As the day went on most of the other smaller coasters closed too, remaining about 2-3 flat rides and a dead park. I just don’t think this is good enough, they need to be able to deal with light rain. I’ve been to parks in Europe where most or all rides remain open in rain - Thorpe Park in the UK for example and some rides from the same manufacturers eg B&M. Also ride ops - absolutely terrible. Didn’t impact me a there are no queues, but I timed them at ten minutes to dispatch and reload a single mine train. They have zero urgency and I can imagine this park to be terrible when there is a significant crowd. Anyway overall sad not to be able to ride Hakugei which I travelled from many miles overseas to do.

It’s is the best place for families to go and have fun, as there are so many things combine together from spa (Onsen) to amusement park, outlets and shopping mall. Things are amazing, just that I came here on the new year so it’s crowded with a lot of locals buying. So I still recommend this place but not during the new year celebrations and also not may stores will be open as it is a public holiday.

The attractions at Nagashima Spaland are top-notch, and the park has a solid overall theme. However, the operations, queueing procedures, and overly strict safety measures are completely out of touch with reality. The operations and security managers need to do their homework and re-evaluate their processes for the sake of guest satisfaction and efficiency. The current situation reflects poorly on the park. I've never experienced such an inefficient and frustrating ride boarding process anywhere in the world. Please, for the love of all that is fun, get this sorted out.

Underrated theme park with rides for the young and young and dangerous!! We were there on a windy day so some rides were closed. The experience was a relaxed one and not having to run from one ride to another. The ferris wheel was awesome to see Nagoya and the shark ride was nothing close (in an excellent way) to anything in Universal Studios. Everything was done in an orderly fashion and i think the place can be made more lively with some music!

This place is so underrated, with rides similar to that of universal studios and about a 5 to 10 minute wait for most rides except the steel dragon 2000 which to this day, is still the worlds longest roller coaster but it does take 45 minutes to an hour to get on the ride so be prepared for some waiting! they also do have the hakugei which is extremely fun especially in autumn with up to 4g of forces pressing you down and cold wind blowing in your face like a tight slap at 130km/h plus some mild rides for kids and some wilder rides for older kids or adults so its a all ages amusement park and there is even a water park which i didnt get to experience because of the season i went to the park and there is even a mall nearby with a lot of food choices, overall, it is very value for money at 1/5 of the price of a usj ticket

My visit to Nagashima Spa Land was truly unforgettable, and it easily became one of the most exciting and relaxing destinations I’ve experienced in Japan. The moment we arrived, the entire area felt like a perfect combination of thrill, comfort, and beautiful scenery. Whether you love roller coasters, relaxing hot springs, shopping, or simply walking around, this place has something for everyone amusement park itself is huge, and the rides are impressive. The roller coasters are world-class—fast, tall, and incredibly thrilling. Even if you’re not a big fan of extreme rides, there are plenty of family-friendly attractions and gentle rides that make the park enjoyable for all ages. I especially appreciated how clean and organized everything was. The waiting lines were well-managed, and the staff was kind, helpful, and professional I lucky to visit here ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ

I am Korean and in my 50s. I visited Nagashima Spa Land in Nagoya and rode the 6 big scream machines. It was a very fun and exciting experience! I felt young again. I laughed and screamed a lot. Here are the rides I tried: • Steel Dragon 2000 – very tall and super fast! • Hakugei (White Cyclone) – strong turns and big drops! • Acrobat – I felt like I was flying like a bird! • Arashi – it spins a lot! So exciting! • Looping Star – classic loop ride, very fun! • Shuttle Loop – fast start and goes backward too! All of them were amazing. I really recommend this place to everyone. If you like thrill rides, Nagashima Spa Land is the best!

For the sake of history, a little of Nagashima Spaland back in 2020 on New Year's Day. New Year's Day in Japan offers a lot of good deals and sales, known as "Hatsuuri" in Japanese. In addition to the usual celebration, a lot of people customarily go shopping on this day especially for fashion items and winter clothing.

First time to the park and we had a great time. We were there on Monday and all the main rides had about a 60 minute wait each. I had heard the ops were bad, but they were good for Hakugei and the ride did not disappoint. All the other attractions outside the big four were more or less a walk on, and we were able to ride everything. Though we did not travel with our kids, I was really impressed with the kiddy area compared to Cedar Point.

A good range of rides for the whole family. Went on a Monday in early October and it felt like we had the whole park to ourselves. Only Hakugei had a little bit of a line, but I would have waited twice that time to go on it. Well worth it.

If I could give ZERO stars, that would be a fair rating. I came on 19 March 2025, eve of a Japan Public Holiday. There's so much about this park that's ridiculously lousy. Please do not bring family, friends or kids here. 1. Almost 50% to 60% of the adult rides were closed. At the entrance, there was a sign saying the Dragon ride was closed. So that's fine. But in the adult section, only 2 rollercoasters rides (Rides) were open. Ride A closed their queue at 345pm: they disallowed me and another guy from even joining the queue. Ride B had a 1 hour waiting time (possibly as there were ALMOST NO other rides available). 2. So I paid adult admission ticket of ¥1800 and took ZERO rides. I was prepared to pay for the ride coupons after admission, there just weren't any rides available! 3. Ferris Wheel and two restaurants were closed. Do NOT BE FOOLED by the beautiful ferris wheel pic. The cabins are empty and it is as still as a grave. Notably the only kids restaurant was closed. Not a family friendly park for sure. 4. Conclusion: you're better off feeding deer at Nara (2 hrs away), than wasting your time and money here.
