Delicious pizzas (brick oven!) and very reasonable prices. They have seats for one and for two. Waiter speaks very good English - I was really impressed! 👍🏻 They don’t have a lot of space, so if you wanna hang out longer, I’d recommend going to a bar afterwards to make room for new customers. Cash only! Definitely worth five stars.

I'm the kind of Italian who only eats Italian in Italy (greatly because I love other cuisines like.. Japanese!) But yesterday while looking for an unagi restaurant I saw this pizzeria..I opened the door (then realised it was 2 min before closing time!) and there was something about it that made me feel home and made me feel I was in a place of someone who truly connected with my country and a part of my country I particularly love, Naples sea. So I set down a was fed a well prepared and well priced pizza (and the pizzaiolo spoke to me in Italian before I left!). Strongly recommended...grazie mille!

Great spot to have some tasty wood fired pizzas. We were lucky to not have to wait in line and got seated straight away. Friendly service, really yummy pizzas and very nice dough. Felt like being transported to Italy.

I love pizza and this hit the spot! Super simple menu with 4 types of pizza , picked the special and Regina. A little bit on oily side but the sides make up for the taste!

Food was amazing, not sure if it was the best pizza in Kyoto but I would rate it best pizzas in my life. Wait can be a bit long as it only sits 13 at once. So I suggest come in early.

The dough is a bit salty. The fire was burning fiercely in the oven and causing lots of smoke which made the pizza taste excessively bitter. ¥880 lunch set is for tomato sauce only pizza. Need to spend ¥1500 for a reasonable pizza. I’d rather go to another shop at similar price without lining up a long queue outside. Owner always came out asking the customers lining up to squeeze tighter courtesy of avoiding blocking the building next to the shop. Very unpleasant arrangement.

Went to this Bib Gourmand for dinner and before it opened, there was a small line formed. I recommend this restaurant if you would like traditional Italian pizza. The menu was simple and available in English. We tasted the Prosciutto Cotto E Funghi (tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, ham, mushroom) and Lasagna (Margherita with ricotta) with the latter being my favorite. The restaurant was small but well decorated. There was one chef who created all of the pizzas, but despite that, service was fast and efficient. I would definitely go again if I could!

One of the best Neapolitan pizza I ever had (better than the ones I had in Naples). Very friendly staff! Super recommend 👌

Food was awesome and worth the wait. Once you order, the food cooks fairly fast. The pizza stays close to pizzas from Italy. Don't expect American Pizza here such as Pizza Hut; he'll probably laugh you out the door if you asked for a Supreme. The service is a bit slow as the owner/ cook/waiter/host/ dishwasher/ and likely Janitor is the same person.

Maybe the best Napolitan style pizza restaurant in Kyoto! Choose any pizza, you can't go wrong. Reasonable prices and excellent service!

Went on a Sunday at about 645pm and there was no line. The place was being served by a single gentleman who did a fantastic job of balancing front of house duties as well as giving us what we all wanted, pizza!

Delicious Napolitan pizza baked in wood oven. The queue is long, the place is small, just 12 people inside. We were waiting about 45 minutes outside. But we enjoyed a lot the taste of the pizza. A good symptom for me: the line was full of Italian people!

Found this place online and it looked good, so we came by and found out it’s a really small place and was completely packed! We opted to wait outside until a table opened up, and we did eventually get seated, so that was nice. The Capricciosa pizza and Funghi pizza were delish and legit. Totally worth the wait. It reminded me of the wood fired pizzas I used to have in Switzerland. I love the crispy and chewy crust. Seating is tight because the place is small. But the food is totally worth it when you want something different from Japanese food. A great find during my Japan vacation!

A truly Italian pizza restaurant. The oven is heated with wood, the owner makes the pizza by hand in front of you (if you sit at the counter). Prizes are 800-1600 yen, and they are cash only. A bit small place, so you might have to wait if you come during busy hours, but the wait totally worth it. Love the small touches like the real Italian don't smoke signs, or the opening hours written in Italian.

A great little pizzeria. Wood and brick oven with a cook who is clearly passionate about what he makes. Menu has english, and great assortment of options. Pistachio ice cream was one of best I have had!

I went 10 mins before opening on a Tuesday and only one other person was waiting. Nice little shop and got to sit in front of the stove. The pizza was great and don't have any complaints about coming here.

Great pizzas in central Kyoto, highly recommended!! A tip: the size of the pizzas is smaller than the average - if you’re very hungry you might consider ordering two!

Simple pizza shop with a straightforward menu but the pizza was delicious! Traditional Neapolitan style and well executed. We went on the earlier side and only had to wait for 5 mins or so for a table.

Best pizza in Japan! I went to Italy last year and the pizza at Pizzeria Marita tastes like pizza right from Italy! Everything about the pizza - cheese, sauce, and crust tastes authentic. There is a wait to get in as seating is quite limited. Staff are very friendly and greet you when you come in and when you leave. The pizza was so good that I forgot to take a picture before eating it. I would go back if I'm in Japan again!

Heard about this pizza place through the Michelin guide, was not disappointed. Very unassuming exterior but warm and cozy inside. Wood fire oven pizzas with super thin crust and very fresh and tasty ingredients.

Delicious Pizza! The owner makes everything himself and serves the tables at a great speed. We were very impressed. A bit of a queue, but it went reasonably quickly.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat after a day of visiting all the attractions in Kyoto and so pleased we chose this place! Delicious pizza made in a proper log fired pizza oven right in front of you, speedy service considering the proprietor is the only employee (from what we could see) and very reasonable priced - 4600 Yen for 2 beers, a glass of wine and 2 pizzas. Thoroughly recommend!

Popular restaurant, very small with only 3 tables and a few seats at the bar. We were early so fortunate to have a seat right away. The pizza’s were very tasteful, the owner friendly. Would definitely recommend. When we left (around 18:15), there was already a waiting line.

Delicious food and affordable prices. The pizza is the best I’ve had and there is a large selection. There is only 13 seats so I recommend coming as early as possible but it is well worth the wait. So much so, we went back for a second time during our 5 day stay in Kyoto. Highly recommend.

Incredible pizza we just stumbled upon, after a few minutes people start coming in and the queue got pretty long. Luckily we ordered 3 pizzas for 2 and it wasn’t even too heavy to fill our stomachs; which I meant in a great way. I’m not usually one to finish a whole pizza but I ate one and half and still wanted more..

Was amazing pizza! The guy running the place did not seem that talkative but very focused on making great pizza and serving guests solo. But it is a quite and cosy spot red wine was 550 per glass and good!

Go for Lunch better deal than Dinner. Non-tomato source pizzas somewhat tasted better

Great Neapolitan pizza out of a wooden oven. I recommend a Pizza Bianca which are amazing and not easy to find outside of Europe. The place is really small with six seats on the bar and two tables in the back. It is not great for group. Besides, it's a one man show, so bring some time with you ant jump into Naples by biting in a slice of pizza.

Small but cozy pizzeria in the centre of Kyoto. The atmosphere reminds very much of Italy. Pizza is very good and very faithful to the Neapolitan style, and the topping selection is fairly wide. Italian beers are also available. English menu available.
