If you are staying in Marseille, I recommend getting up earlier and taking the train to Cassis. Cassis is also much more beautiful in the morning when there are not many people. During the day, when we returned from the hike, the city was unenjoyable because of the crowds. We traveled by train from Marseille at 6:29AM, we were in Cassis at 6:53AM. You can buy a ticket online, it costs €6.90. Cassis station is far from the center. That's why I recommend taking the bus. When we got off the train, there was already a bus at the station that left at 7:05AM. Drive to the stop Belsunce. You can buy a ticket from the driver, it costs €0.90. From the stop, you have to walk around 30 minutes to Calanque de Port-Miou, where the trail started. Walk up to the Calanque de Port Pin and then the roads split. I highly recommend taking the blue path that leads up the cliff. It is considered more difficult, but I do not agree with it. It is not as difficult as many write. Perhaps not recommended with small children, as the trail is dangerously high in the cliffs. We took the easiest (red) way back - it is shorter. The "easy" or red trail goes all the way up the hill, there are no straight (gentle slope) parts. You can only see the forest. On the "steep" or blue trail, you will see amazing views from the top. At times there are steep and rocky parts of the trail, but then a straight and easier part follows. The views are worth it. The walk takes about 1.5-2 hours (including photo and drink breaks). The hike is also easier early in the morning because it's not too hot. There are few people on the beach in the morning. Unfortunately, be prepared that it may happen to you, as it did to us. We traveled a long way from Latvia to swim, celebrate our anniversary and spend a beautiful day at this beach, but after a 2-hour walk men in kayaks told us that the park was closed today due to a fire warning and we had to go back. The day was not hot, around 26 degrees. But there was wind. It's strange that no one was there and didn't warn us at the beginning of the trail in the morning. We weren't the only ones whose heart was broken. The "easy" red trail led down the hill and in about 15/20 minutes we were back at the Calanque de Port Pin. At least we managed to swim there, sunbathe and enjoy the view for about an hour until the staff arrived and asked everyone to leave this beach as well. Walking out of the trail around 12:00, we were already greeted by the staff who explained again that unfortunately the park is closed today. Overall, we are happy that we saw all the wonderful views, the hike is worth it and not as difficult as many write (we are not professionals and we don't hike often by the way). The fact that it wasn't hot certainly had a lot to do with it. Of course, a little bitterness has remained that the day did not turn out as we planned. Sorry for my english, i tried, hope it helps someone.

Lovely hiking with great views! The last descending part might be challenging for beginners or people not wearing the proper hiking shoes. We are used to it as we hike in Pyrénées and also climbers ourselves, so it's rather normal terrain for us.

Very nice. If you want to chill take the blue walk. If you are good in exercises and body condition, take the red. It’s way faster In total expect to walk between 6/7 km from the city center of cassis it’s very tiring. Bring minimum 1,5L of water with you. Below that you will have a hard time. Use sneakers with grip, airforce and other will make you like difficult there.

Beautiful place, crystal clear water. May be worth starting your walk from port miou to get the view from the top on the way but I'm sure the parking is easier if you start from the route gineste. Can still walk up to a higher viewpoint if you wish. There are some jellyfish in the water , so watch out.

Moderate-intense hike to reach this beautiful Calanque. Bring water with you and wear trekking shoes! Sit on the left side when you arrive, as the sun will stay there longer.

Avoid it with childrens and beware of jelly fish here. Too much crowded. Take scenic route to the beach one time and take short route other time. Take enough water with you also food.

This has to be one of my favourite places. It is absolutely stunning! I got to the Calanque at around 9am and there was barely anyone there. I recommend getting there early as it started to get busy at around 10am. The water was so clear that I could see fish swimming below. I chose to do the longer hike to get to it which was very scenic and beautiful!

Wonderful place worth the long walk! During summer you'll have to park close to Port Miou and then follow the green signs. Bring water and NO flip flops!!

BE CAREFUL, MANY PEOPLE GET ROBBED THERE. THE PARKING SPOT IS NOT SAFE. WE LOST ALL OUR BAGS AND BELONGINGS BECAUSE THEY BROKE INTO OUR CAR! THEY TAKE WHOLE SUITCASES WITH DIRTY LAUNDRY OUT OF THE TRUNK..

(Translated by Google) Tested this wonderful month of July 2018 we tried our first cove on friendly recommendation. After discussion with the locals, and looking for that of Sormiou, it is on the side of Cassis that we were able to park. Beware of the high in the summer fire barriers prohibit cars all access and it is necessary to walk near 1:30 under the burning sun to get there. The top is to have bikes or to like the long hike. And in these cases it is better to leave very early in the morning to enjoy because the trip even for athletes at a very good pace will take 3 hours to and from. Having passed by the bottom we skirted a crowded track of world to reach the cove of the green track with rocks and a nice little point of jump to 10 m of height in a very fresh water. Then a track, red which will lead 15min later to the small cove of Port Pin with 60cm of water on average. Small beach of pebbles and rocks, very cloudy water because of the sand and the crowd that soaks the feet. But especially too many people, so we continued our road to the blue track ... which leads to En Vaux ....... but takes more than an hour of intensive walking, climbing and dangerous descent in climbing mode. Suffice to say that the sneakers of the most athletic are in order but especially not the cooler and beer. Otherwise it is better to come by boat or kayak which is rented 50 € a day. Arrives up we finally got lost some time. Because the course is not always perfectly visible. You have to go around the thalweg counter-clockwise until you find a steep slope. Fortunately in the afternoon several people make the opposite way. This allowed us to find this steep slope to descend on the path of the creek. Arrived 20 minutes later after helping others to climb, we just fell on a beautiful scenery in heaven! A perfectly clear water, wonderful silver fish that we see above the surface, a damn fresh mother because the creek is oriented to the east so often hidden from the sun, and a beach of beautiful pebbles clean with the privileged and many foreigners who have managed to come here. The only regret is the fresh water, even very very fresh because of this lack of permanent sun, but everything else is worth a hundred times the trouble. (-1 half-star for lovers of hot water like me) In short a dream realized thanks to this dear "Clara" but especially a calanque of dream which was worth all these hours of walk !!!

Beautiful place, but don’t go there with a car with licence plate not from France. Car window was broken when we got back to the car and they stole out of the car whatever they found. Had a lovely day nevertheless.

The place is super nice, I visited it in November and it was very nice, with hardly any people. The low score is due to the fact that they BROKE the window of the car I had rented in an attempt to STEAL it. I had parked it in the car park next to the road and it was in a visible place. It was not the only car, so it is quite common. In my case they didn't steal anything, but they did make my holiday a bitter one. So please try to go by bus to this place, to avoid it. You will never be safe leaving your car parked there

A long hard walk, don't get there too late in the day as the sun doesn't hit it for very long out of the summer time. Be prepared ; lots of water and good walking shoes. Some people say not to let children do the walk, but I saw plenty of kids doing the walk, but keep an eye on them.

It just takes 1.5hrs from the center of Cassis. My kids(10, 7 years old) did it well. Fancy hiking shoes or equipment are not needed(I even wore a pair of outdoor sandals). Exploring this place was the only reason why I came to Cassis. There are a few cliff jump points about 8meters high. Highly recommand visiting this place.

Was a tough hike - the last descent was almost vertical at points, but for an asthmatic wearing low top Lacoste’s it was doable. Make sure you bring lunch and 2L of water per person. The cold clean water at the end is just what you need after the hike. It’s crowded but the views are stunning and I would recommend to anyone able.

Definitely worth the trek. Amazing place, the best of the three main calanques in my opinion (and the hardest to reach). The water is a crystal clear turquoise and warm, perfect for a break after the ~2hr hike from Cassis. It's pretty secluded earlier in the day so I would recommend leaving as early as possible to avoid the crowds and the beaming sun.

Absolutely stunning! It’s a good 2-3 hour walk if you go the longest route (red/white then blue then red/white markings) but well worth it for the scenery and rewarding, chilly dip when you reach d’en Vau. We parked for free on Avenue Notre Dame. I’d recommend arriving early both for the parking and to get down to the beach by midday so that the sun is still shining down past the cliffs. Wear trainers/boots and take all the food & drink you need for the day. Regardless, go here - it’s beautiful

Amazing, just amazing! Wonderful stone beach with a view to the calanque, with cliffs on both sides. Crystal clear water and perfect temperature for a good swim. I recommend hiking there from cassis, as although the walking may take over 1h 30 mins, it's well worth it. You'll have the chance to enjoy tje views of the first two calanques on your way here. Bring good walking boots, food and drinks, and a snorkeling kit (big mistake of mine not to take one!).
