We had such an amazing time staying here. The location was great, very close to the national park. All the tours were great value for money. We had Gregorio as our tour guide and he was so friendly and full of life, we were treated like absolute princesses. The ladies who cooked for us were so sweet and the food was classic Colombian stuff and very yummy. The most beautiful national park and amazing 4 nights!

Our family absolutely loved our stay! The lodge has a family feeling and all of the staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful, and very kind. Our kids loved seeing monkeys and beautiful birds right outside of our cabin. Our time at the Ecolodge was the highlight of our 2 week trip around Colombia. If visiting Caño Cristales, the Makalombia tour guide is also fantastic!

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at makalombia ecolodge! It’s just across the river from the cano cristales national park and located outside of the main town. It’s a perfect respite from city vibes. The staff is warm and friendly (note: it’s helpful to know some Spanish). The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food was tasty Colombian cuisine. Monkeys and birds are all around the lodge.

Stayed here with family for 4 nights. Wonderful place to enjoy nature. Morning visits by various monkeys, beautiful birds as regular visitors and good nature walks close by. Food provided was always tasty and served with a smile. Of course, the main reason for the visit was to do the local tours such as Cano Cristales - our guides were Paola and Gregorio, both were knowledgeable, friendly and fun to be around, fantastic trips to the local sites. Highly recommend.

These are extremely primitive cabins in the woods. The screens on the windows were torn, allowing bugs and mosquitos in. Only one of the four beds had mosquito netting. The hotel operators did come fix the screens and install mosquito netting once we asked them to. But there are still gaps between the walls and the roof that allow insects and rain in. There is no hot water. Frogs jumped out of the toilet. We found a rat upstairs, and rat droppings on the beds and floor. The hotel operator came to try to catch the rat with a Tupperware. We left after that and went to another hotel. I do NOT recommend this hotel.
