One of our favorite Mexican food restaurants in San Diego! Great atmosphere and always a good time! Hard to beat handmade tortillas and Margaritas that pack a punch! Some of the best carnitas around!

Beautiful, clean restaurant with the best Mexican food in San Diego. JC Dwight was a great waiter. Didn't wait for anything. Food was delish. Medium house margarita was plenty ;) leftover food for tomorrow. Will def be back next visit to area. One negative is parking lot is a pita. Mariachi band was a nice touch :)

Used to go to this restaurant or more often Casa De Bandini when both were still located in Old Town San Diego. Food here is still quite good and filling. Don't really get the same atmosphere in La Mesa as you would in Old Town although the really try to recreate it. Definitely one of the best Mexican Restaurant options in San Diego. 🀀

Love the food and ambiance! Live music tableside is so entertaining. We didn’t wait long for a table for 3 at 5pm on a Friday night but we definitely beat the crowd. Food was very fast! I ordered combo #1 (beef taco, bean burrito & cheese enchilada) and it was nice to get a taste of everything. It was so much food! My son ordered the kids bean and cheese burrito and said it was the best burrito of his life. The chips and salsa served ahead of the meal are very crisp and tasty. You can tell the salsa is handmade, just like the tortillas. We can’t wait to return.

It was Amazing food. Had a Mariachi band and huge plates of food and a kids menu too. They do offer alcoholic drinks as well and Pepsi products and tea. When you go in the front there is someone making homemade flour tortillas.

Phenomenal Mexican fair. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. The place is decked for the holidays, everyone is really friendly and the portions are huge. You definitely get your bang for your buck. Our server, Luz Elena, was excellent! I’ll be sure to return!

Been coming here for awhile from Temecula about an hour drive. That's how good the food is. Ordered a Mango shrimp salad each time. It's my favorite as well as very healthy. The margaritas are awesome.

Excellent service. The wait was a bit long but given it is a Saturday. Definitely worth it. Got the carnitas burrito, great taste. I specially like this place because the food has not been Americanized like in other restaurants. Our waiter was great in providing service. As the saying goes if you see Mexicans in a Mexican restaurant then you know the food is good, and this place was great!

I’m working next door to Casa De Pico and I looked at all the reviews and thought I would try it. I got the two carne asada enchiladas and was a little disappointed. The meat was fatty and super hard to chew. The enchilada sauce was a little too bitter for me. I also got a dessert and I was a little excited to try the lava cake. I was underwhelmed again. The cake was cold and no lava. The cake was dry and the ice cream barely made it soft enough to eat. I don’t think I will try them again while I’m in town

This place is wonderful for having a good meal the food is delicious. Had a combination plate with beans and rice both beans and rice were delicious and the food was flavorful. The tequila lime shrimp is excellent it is full of flavor and you can really taste it’s delicious butteriness that the lemon and tequila brings out. The homemade chips and salsa are wonderful highly recommend. The margaritas at the bar are fabulous as well. Great place to come for a very lively atmosphere and the outdoor fountain area is beautiful.

Clean Plate and coming again. Great ambience & environment. Great staff and service. Delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. Best of all, home made tortillas.

The chicken fajita came out sizzling was very flavorful. Quality meat, fresh guacamole and vegetables. I wasn't a fan of the tortillas, to thin. Chips and salsa was okay. Services was good even considering it was busy.

Everything was super! 4 of us came about 4 pm on a Saturday and were able to walk in and get seated immediately. The drinks were all very tasty, and the food was decently sized portions also great taste. The chips and salsa before service were hot and delicious. It's super colorful inside and out. And the staff is very attentive. It does get super busy around 5-6 when we were leaving. There was a line out the door. Plus, the parking isn't the greatest it's a tight squeeze for larger vehicles.

Very slow service. Decent food. Excellent location. Homemade chips but ate either cooked to long or the oil needs changing. $20 burrito and the beans and rice are on the inside, not as a side.

Amazing Margaritas. Good service great atmosphere. I aint never been sad in a Mexican Restaurant. Delicious food. Reccommend the Carne Asada Burrito or Steak Picado

The food portions are big. Lots of variety on the menu, which includes a nice margarita selection. I had a combination plate which was mostly good, except the taco that was extremely hard and flavorless. We visited at 5pm, so it wasn’t too busy. We were never served any water or drinks until we requested a waiter to come to the table. When he arrived he seemed sort of annoyed that we asked for a waiter to be sent over.

Very nice atmosphere. A wandering Mariachi band that you can tip to play something for your birthday. It was my fault for ordering something new. Next time, I will stick with something I am familiar with.

Service was excellent. Alonso was our server and was great but so was everyone else we encountered. Horchata hit the spot and the the Chile Verde had some nice spice to it. Unfortunately the enchiladas had some old sauce so that was disappointing. Will have to come back and try it again.
