Edited: I originally had this gym rated highly but due to life events I am looking for a gym closer to my home and have been trying to cancel my membership. I've been in multiple times to meet with management to process my cancelation only to learn they left early or the time frames provide by staff of the manager's hours to be incorrect. This gym's customer service has tanked in my opinion due to this issue. I simply want to cancel my plan but I feel I'm now just getting strung along. I would think twice before signing up at this gym due to the limited hours of management to process requests and how little the staff seems to know or even be able to assist with such tasks.

Very lovely gym. I enjoyed all of the equipment available and the employees we're incredibly helpful. MK walked me though all of the pricing and amenities as well as showed me where everything was. She was extremely friendly and made my time there even more enjoyable. I also enjoyed all of the options at the protein shake bar. Definitely will be back!

1st Brandon is probably the rudest person I have dealt with in customer service. 2nd it’s a mediocre gym, nothing special but the annual fee you get hit with a month after signing up is bs. Then when you cancel.... another fee. I’d go to LA or planet fitness before here.

******Be Aware Of Scam*** Should have listened to the reviews I went in asked and verified that I would be on a month to month no contract to which the sales person promised I would not be tied to any “contract” it’s truly month to month. A few months go by they double their rates without sending any communication out like shady owners they ate. Super unprofessional thing to do. So I informed them I would not be continuing my month to cancel auto draft. They didn’t. Continued to pull monthly until I had to get a new card. Get a call today from collections that my account is past due although I never signed up for a contract! Shame on you. Stop scamming people out of money and lying about memberships!!!!!!!I

very Solid Gym with a full line of varied equipment styles and brands. In addition, they have a CrossFit box, a cardio-boxing area, and a very solid cycling room. I am all in.

Signed up literally a week ago just moved down here. Was told day care was included in the more expensive membership so I signed. Went back in a week later and day care is now separate costing 25 dollars a month more…. But wait there’s a catch now I can’t downgrade my membership without paying 100 dollar fee. That’s called getting scammed out of your money. Will be leaving this gym as soon as I can for dishonest business practices. Be advised I’ve been self employed for years and to charge someone money for not offering a service you were already charging them for dishonest and theft.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM. They will try to bait you into contracts to steal money. They have good trainer that’s it. It’s always packed have like two Squat racks. Mostly treadmills. Charge your card and still do after you canceled your membership. THIEVES!!!! Horrible experience with management as they only care about making money and very money hungry.

Not a single person was wearing a mask. Literally over 100 people in there. No one is taking this serious. I guess they don't care about the members safety. Very disappoint in how the management is handling coronavirus.

The gym itself is fine, however they changed my contract and extended it to 2022 without me signing it or giving permission. I am in the process of trying to cancel my current membership because I do not feel safe going to a public gym at this time. I even considered coming back to Just Move once the pandemic was over. I only had 2 months left of my membership, but it was set to auto-renewal and the only way to cancel that is to send an email or a letter in writing to their finance company, ABC Financial. I have done that and I waiting for a response. In the process of this, I received an email saying they would lower rates or add an amenity and that the lower rate would be guaranteed for 24 months. All I had to do was fill out a Google Form. No where on this google form did it say that a new contract would be written out or that I would be locked in to an additional 2 years. There were no terms or conditions. I went ahead with the lower rate because I figured I only had 2 months left of the contract once they verified my cancellation of the auto-renewal. I then receive an email with a new contract extended my membership through 2022. I never signed off on this contract and it is already been put through their systems. It looks like the sales person was Dana Mansfield. I have tried emailing, calling the gym, leaving voicemails, and calling their finance company. The gym never answers, and when I call the finance company they said I have to wait for them to email back and they can't do anything about the contract and that I have to talk to the gym. I don't believe its legal for them to move forward with a contract I never signed off on or agreed upon. I am at my wits end and will not be coming back. I plan on sending the finance company the amount to buyout for my membership and then block them from collecting any more money off my card. I know that everyone is short staffed right now, but this is ridiculous. I would not have cared as much if the new unsigned contract had not come through, or if anyone could answer my calls or give me some answers. I was on hold for 10 minutes with their finance company after I explained what had happened and she said I just had to wait for an email to come through from them. No explanation as to why there is a new contract. I've post a screenshot of the form that they asked me to fill out for lower rates. Earlier in the year they had an opt in program to lower rates while the gym was closed and that did not require a new contract, so I was under the impression this would be the same. Beware if you are trying to get out of a membership.

I joined their little deal when you join for a $1 and you get the entire summer free. I was told by a lady that she will put a reminder on my account for it to cancel and I never received that call so I ended up having to pay $49 for the membership and now I have to pay another $49 just to cancel it. On top of that I never got my Amazon gift card either it’s saying that my code isn’t working or the email they have on file is incorrect. I 100% recommend planet fitness and crunch. I never had an issue with their services and they send out reminds and the people at the desk will remind you about your yearly fee coming up or they will just work with you. Just move is filled with crooks. I do not recommend

I tried for 7 years after being w golds for 20. This location... I can not. The dollar store next door keeps the parking lot disgusting. In addition I'm now seeing the unhoused congregate in the lot. The cancelation process is archaic. Why couldnt i do online? The manager asked no questions of what I didnt like or why I was leaving. Why make people come in ? I love just move winter haven and north lakeland I can't w this location, its dirty... unwelcoming and it's stopping my goals.

Beware the loyalty program that the gym launched. No coincidence the week before the other gym down the street, Crunch opened. They offer either 15% off your current dues, or you can pick another benefit like multi-club access. That is a pretty good deal if you pay $10/mo. Except there are no terms and conditions to this agreement. They don't state that it will result in auto-enrolling you into a 24-month contract. A two-year contract? Joining the gym only puts you in a 12-month contract. This trickery lands you in a two-year contract. They bait and switched their entire member base to make sure they could not go to the competing gym. Their actions show a blatant lack of integrity and maturity. This is the mistake only a 3-year old rookie franchise gym would make. Instead of joining a gym like this, try another gym with a more established brand.

Great gym but if you are one who likes privacy when you change.. you’ll have to do it in a bathroom stall. Very unappealing to have to shower and then have to either attempt to dry off in a humid shower and dress in there or to have to shower and then be completely bare in front of strangers. Makes it hard to work out before work in the mornings. There is plenty of space to put a couple of dry changing areas in the dressing room. Just wondering why other locations have it and this one doesn’t. Otherwise, not a bad gym.

This has been my favorite gym so far that I've worked out in within Lakeland. They are almost done with their renovations and I have to say they have come a long way from the set up that they had when I first stepped foot in this gym. Everything was extremely cramped together and equipment was set into very awkward spots, but with a full renovation like they have been under one has to expect that type of environment. A decent variety of hammer strength equipment and a fun and useful multi purpose area are what truly drew me to utilize this gym as my go to. I cant wait to see the finished product when renovations are completely finished.

Professional, lots of parking and great equipment. Edit: only downside was I had to lower to a basic plan since they started charging more for my 2 kids to get watched so can only work out on days I don't have my kids.

This gym in Lakeland is a disappointment.. the managers treat the cleaning employees badly and are a bit scruffy... there are not good conditions to work in that place and the customer service is not the best.. for me it is the worst gym in lakeland... epssro, please use my opinion before going there, in addition to the fact that the area where they take care of children does not take good care of them, and they take anyone to take care of the children..

I'm updating to 4 because I received a response and I believe they are starting to listen to their members. I've been a member for several years now, started with Golds. When Just Move took over I decided to try it. When the new owners were changing out equipment, I was patient. When they took out a classroom for the video cardio, I was patient. While they are remodeling I've been patient. My patience has run out. I go to my 5am spin class this past Friday only to find out Dave has cut more classes including this class. Seriously?? Dave, you are fortunate enough to have some of the best Instructors in the business and now their classes are being reduced. I have been doing 5 am classes for a while and need that due to my work schedule. I can not wait until later in the morning. Spin class on Friday @5am is the only class I can make on Friday. I am not alone, there were over 18 in that class that agree with me. So a petition has been started to gain our Friday spin back. I work for a company that believes the customer is always right. So I ask you Dave, if your customers want their class back, will you listen? I hope you will listen to your members.

These people are impossible to reach by phone. I called several times throughout the day during their operating hours for a whole week and they never picked up the phone. I had to listen to their annoying recording dozens of times. I texted them and asked them to contact me, with no response in the days to follow and I AM A MEMBER and they could care less. This gym is over crowded as are all the classes and their training classes are overpriced.

I'm flabbergasted to know that some of the gym members can't stop themselves from stealing personal items. I have had two items stolen in the past 2 months. 1st my 100% leather belt. The belt was given to me by my first trainer over 25 years ago. I had forgotten it at other gyms metropolitan areas, where things like this can be expected. However, it was always returned to me at the front desk. Last Friday, I left my Abs' straps hanging on the bar. They were stolen. It seems that inmates at a correctional facility show more respect for private property than a couple of members at this gym. Obviously, some of the members of the Lakeland community don't know private property etiquette within a health Club. By no means this is a reflection of the wonderful people that work there or the majority of members that belong to this club. A couple of rotten apples can stink up the entire atmosphere. Going 4ward, I will GPS track my items in the event that someone takes them. I will know exactly how to recover them the legal way.

This place was very good until new management came in. I worked out here for almost 10 years, with the same guy, a friend of mine. They accused us of him training me. Can I just say he actually got permission from the former owner and I’m the only person he goes to Just Move with (except his girlfriend and his son) instead of introducing himself or even asking who I was, the young accused us in the gym while working out. Needless to say, I quit, that very day and not one person has reached out to get my business back. If this is how threat someone who stuck with them through thick and thin, construction, etc… They don’t deserve anyone’s business.

The gym itself is good and the staff is very nice, but the kids club is terrible. I took my daughter there 3 times and each time, the two girls working in there did nothing the entire time but sit in the corner on the ground on their cell phones. There was 0 interaction with the kids. And on top of that, they kept the lights off! There was one dim light in the entire room and no windows so the kids were all playing in the dark. When I asked them why there was no light, their reply was “the lower light keeps the kids’ energy levels lower.” Ummm, no. It’s a kids club. Adults who are equipped to babysit and entertain kids should be working in a place where you’re expected to pay for childcare. Also, my daughter got hit by another kid in the kid’s club the last time she went, and told me as soon as I came to pick her up. I asked the girls working there about what happened and they said “I don’t know, I didn’t see it.” Very unsettling. I will not be bringing my daughter to this location, but the North side club has a wonderful kids club with great employees who interact with the kids and provide a great atmosphere.

This gym has gone to trash fast in the last month with new ownership. It’s hotter inside the gym than outdoors and there’s no air flow so it stinks inside too. Great equipment is pointless if you don’t run the AC!

Left crunch to join just move as it’s slightly closer to my house and the hours work a little bit better for my crazy lifestyle. Very first time I came and met with a personal trainer by the name of Syd who was fantastic at giving me a tour of the gym and has been a fantastic personal trainer. I definitely recommend this gym to anybody and more importantly recommend Syd to anyone needing personal training.

I absolutely love the atmosphere and the employees everyone is super friendly and welcoming. The trainers and the employees are very encouraging and they have a variety of classes as well as child care for your little ones! Oh and let’s not forget I also keep a tan year round with the tanning beds! And before I go I always finish with a great Protein Shake

I really enjoyed this gym. The location is great with all sorts of cool places to eat nearby, especially Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. The Dollar Tree next to the gym sells sports bottle Gatorade for only $1 for those preworkout electrolytes. Anyways back to the gym, the sauna is nice to have. Very clean and they play decent music. Bathrooms were sanitized and I had no worries about any issues in regards to that. The staff was friendly. Lots of exercise choices. The members are also very friendly. I wish I lived closer because I would make this my go to gym. No doubt. Thanks Just Move for making this location available. I have the premium plus membership and out of all four gyms I’d say this is the best. Good day all.

It’s a nice gym! Enough machines to get a good workout plus additional space for cardio workouts etc. with a downstairs and upstairs space to workout. I’d recommend for the price. The biggest downfall I would say is no key fob. Closes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.🤷🏾‍♂️

Not satisfied with the service I received went to cancel membership do to my job provides us a gym cheaper the guy had no empathy charged me 52 dollars to cancel stating because I have to be there a year to cancel for free and March would be my year or I can keep membership and pay next 4 months and not even be there to use it? Then he said since I didn't give a 30 day advance after I payed the 52 dollars I will be charged this month's membership?? Another 40 dollars smh... In which I have gave more than 30 days notice cause I called up there and spoke to a woman about canceling my membership but of course no documentation in the system because they didn't note my account..

  • 1/5 Jonathan D. 4 months ago on Google
I’ve been a long time member and I can say that since the senior partners of the old owner/operators took over, the gym has been on a lethal downward spiral. The gym is now hot, stuffy, and smells of perspiration. The group x members have to now open the doors to enjoy some air flow. The noise from the classes do not mix well with the environment outside of the room. This is apparently a result of the default temperature of the club being hiked up according to staff, or there is an HVAC down. The tanning bed rooms have been converted into storage areas with boxes of towels that no one wants to have, let alone purchase. The place is consistently dirty. The layer of dirt and filth that is on the machines is demonstrative of one not caring about their equipment or the members using it. The new configuration of equipment is laughable at best and lethal at worst. Don’t believe me? I challenge you to come in during prime time hours on a Monday or Tuesday and then tell me I am being hyperbolic. The staff used to be friendly, but now they are either grouped up together at the desk NOT greeting members, or they are broken off into groups discussing personal problems within earshot of the members. It is obvious that there is not a strong leadership figure leading by example on what it means to provide a white-towel, top-shelf member experience. The most frustrating part is that Lewis and Cummings have been in the industry for decades and still operate an archaic approach to business that operates at the member’s expense. If it were not for the low cost model of quantity over quality approach they would most likely be out of business. Imagine how much more revenue could be generated by actually giving a damn about the membership AND taking pride in the way you operate your business. Focus more on member retention instead of new member acquisition! Do better than your predecessors, and do better than you are now.

I just came in to visit seeking a possible membership. Nice layout and I like the movie room (good idea). My only turn off (main reason I didn't join) is upon entering the center, it smelled like sweat. I understand it's a gym, but I've been guest visiting a lot of gyms that don't.

The Just Move chain of gyms is a revamping of some of the Gold's lications. Don't quote me but I believe there are four of them with the Winter Haven location being the marquee. The South Lakeland location, which is the one I attend, has literally been under construction for the 3yrs I've been a member. This is both good and bad. The positive aspect is that new equipment has been added. The negative aspect is that new equipment has been added.. and the machines that you're used to are gone without warning. You get into a flow and a routine and suddenly that machine is gone, or a certain piece of equipment has been relocated and you spend five mins walking around looking for bars or collars or handles etc. The feel and atmosphere is also changing as well with the free weight areas shrinking and being replaced with machines. I guess there is no convenient way to remodel a gym, but this has been going on for years so it gets to be tiring at times. I think the staff is wonderful and I hold none of this against them. So consider this rating a snapshot of the present state of affairs at the South Lakeland location. If you attend a different location your mileage may very well vary. I hope this has been helpful and hey, have a great day!

  • 2/5 Kevin C. 1 year ago on Google
If you wanna spend half your workout walking around looking for weights then this is the gym for you. Oh you want to use a machine just wait while the old geezer catching up with his buddy from 1979 finishes his 2 1/2 sets that takes 20 min or high school kid on his phone scrolling mindlessly. Came from Esporta and it has been less than a week and already thinking of switching back. $35 for a smoothie bar and a sauna is just not worth the price.

  • 3/5 Ashton V. 10 months ago on Google
Gym is great! Would’ve gotten 5 stars if hours of operation reflected properly on Google. Why even list hours of operation online if they are not correct. As a local business owner, I am well aware of how easy it is to update hours of operation on Google. While it may seem like a minor detail, it’s not so minor when you plan out your daily schedule and then are met with false info at the door. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  • 4/5 Tawni A. 11 months ago on Google
Great gym. It’s a pretty good size with lots of machines and equipment. Everyone who works there is super friendly! My only complaint is the kids care. We’ve been going here for a year and a half now. They decided to change the pricing on kids care about 8-12 months ago saying they were going to update everything. Nothing had changed. They rarely even clean the room. I’d love to see a little more love put into that area!

  • 4/5 Pikawarps 5 months ago on Google
First off, slogan is misleading. ‘9.99 a month. no commitment’ when you sign up for this gym, the contract is in fact a commitment to one year of membership. They get away with this slogan because you are ‘free to break contract at any time… for a fee’ also be aware that in the contact is an annual fee, which will charge you a few months into the membership, as i write this, the cheapest membership (9.99/month plus cc processing fees) i believe the annual fee is about $50 3-months into your membership. I believe these things should be more up front so people aren’t surprised and feel scammed, as many of these reviews have relayed. It’s all in the contract, but it should be explained in more detail at sign-up. All that being said I do plan on continuing my membership unless new management makes it a place i don’t enjoy visiting. (They’re already changing what is provided by membership starting 12-1-2023 as it relates to bringing guests) But the facility itself is well maintained, machines work, staff are kind and helpful if you have questions. It is expected that each member use the provided cleaning products to sanitize the machines after use, which i appreciate.

  • 4/5 Richard S. 1 year ago on Google
Lots of equipment. Friendly staff. The facility is usually clean and well-maintained. They can add more equipment and replace some overused supplies that have lasted the length of their life. Rush hours are very packed makes getting your workout in challenging but not impossible.

Buyer beware. I purchased a plan for a private training session. The trainer was nice and polite but hard to get ahold of to schedule. Needless to say I did not use the rest of my training. My card had fraud so they turned my bill a collection agent. With no notifications. Be careful.

After the gyms were ordered to close , justmoves still charged me $45 ( it’s normally $10 , but I pay extra for daycare ) . I asked for a refund and to cancel my account and was asked to freeze instead for $5 a month ( they refunded the $45) . When I filled out the form , the longest freezing option was 2 months. I guess i assumed COVID would be over by then , but I completely forgot about this 2 month limit and was inevitably charged again . It’s my fault for forgetting , but seriously ? Why are you charging me $45 for a daycare and gym I can’t even use ? From other reviews , I’ve gathered the staff isn’t even wearing masks or gloves ( including ones serving food ) . So basically it’s my fault im not getting my money’s worth because I dont want myself and my toddler to get corona ? There are plenty of gyms who froze accounts without being asked because they care about their customers happiness and want to keep them around after this blows over . Justmoves only cares about squeezing every penny they can from you .

I've been a member of Just Move in South Lakeland for over a year now. The staff is friendly, the group instructors are amazing and the team training is phenomenal (HIGHLY RECOMMEND)! Mike is currently my personal trainer and I couldn’t ask for someone more knowledgeable and he is also a spectacular motivator. Matt’s classes are too early for my taste however, if you’re an early bird, definitely check him out! The machines are modern and kept in working order. The movie cardio room is a badass touch! It definitely makes time on the elliptical go a lot faster. If you're seeking a new gym, consider Just Move South Lakeland. I dig it!

Value. You can’t beat the value of what you get here with the premium + membership. 4 locations with a variety of equipment and classes for everyone. CF programming written by an 8x CF Games competitior. Open gym 24/7. Classes everyday.

Great low key atmosphere at this location. Never too crowded. Only thing that is inconvenient is there is No deadlift platform. The weight plates have flat sides like a octagon, which makes proper deadlift technique difficult to achieve for me.

I'm glad Just Move is open. Great upgrades. I'm disappointed that the amenities are not all available, but it will come in time.

Several of the ellipticals and treadmills were out of service, as was a cable station. Quite a bit of the other equipment was in disrepair. I attached a picture of the trea...
