Quaint and charming Dalton square exists just outside the main high street and offers a nice seating area in a small city park. In summer it's the host of Lancaster Pride and in Winter it hosts Lancasters very own ice rink/mini winter wonderland.

Great historic town hall square with a skating rink and big wheel at Christmas. See the shops, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs at night. Visit the war memorial and seasonal stalls. Paul Davies aviation historian

Looks lovely with the Christmas lights and ice rink , the food stalls are a bit steep in price but it's no different than anywhere else at Christmas

Great atmosphere and facilities for the xmas market and ice rink, love the big tents for drinks and a warm fire, really helpful and friendly staff, well done Lancaster.

It's so pleasant to sit at the base of the enormous and grandiose statue of Queen Victoria whilst having lunch or merely soaking up a few rays of sunshine on a clement day. A pause in the rush that life can be.

A large open area with grassy areas and the huge statue of Queen Victoria at its centre. The panels around the statue show the notable people of Queen Victoria’s reign, and the four corner panels virtues such as truth. The atmosphere is lessened by traffic noise. Generally poorly maintained and in need of some tlc but still worth visiting and appreciating.

Took my Y6 class on the ice-skating rink in Dalton Square. What a fantastic morning! Brilliant instructors, really helpful and lovely. Kids had an amazing time. Definitely recommend πŸ‘

The Xmas village is a lovely experience for families at this time of year it has a warm and magical feel. There is the ice rink which is seasonal and a great family activity. The teepee has a range of hot and cold drinks to enjoy and marshmallow toasting for the kids. You can grab a bite to eat at one of the food stalls, a frankfurter or pizza or sweet treats...a little pricey for me but once a year is manageable. Have a go on the traditional carousel 🎠 or view Lancaster from above on the big wheel 🎑 This is the second year we have had an outing here and it's been enjoyable both times 😁

We were on a sightseeing walk. We got to Dalton Square. There is Queen Victoria Memorial. Curiosity: 2 Dalton Square was home of Dr. Buck Ruxton, the Lancaster murderer who killed his wife and servant in 1935.These murders are informally known as the Bodies Under the Bridge and the Jigsaw Murders.

Dalton Square is a great centre piece in Lancaster made extra special in December with Christmas market and Ferris Wheel and all the lights.

A great space any time of the year, but probably at its best at Christmas for the ice rink and stalls.

Went with my family 5 adults and it was lovely and festive. There could have been more stalls but really only food ones there. The beer tipi was lovely and had good atmosphere.

One day a year, this place runs wild with dinosaurs. The rest of the year, the majestic lions keep this iconic park of Lancaster safe ;)

Small park which could be much nicer if it weren't surrounded by noisy road traffic. Best when the road is closed for events like the Pride march.

Small square to hang out. Good meeting place. Nothing too special, although they sometimes have markets on the street around it.

Beautiful place to have a walk, read a book or just to enjoy quick take away lunch. Flowers beds are always updated accordingly to the season. πŸ‘

A lovely place to sit and relax. Space for children to run about (although you need to keep an eye on them as Dalton Square has roads on all sides).

Wonderful Christmas atmosphere, big wheel, skating and lots of food stalls. The cookie and hot chocolate stall is well worth a visit. The lady heated our cookie up and was very friendly. Whole experience was fabulous.
