This place is quite unusual place and amazing view. The water is going under beneath you between two narrow rocks and that feels terrifying and wonderful at the same time. There is a little place with fence so you can enjoy the view safely.

Gal Oruwa waterfall is situated about 20 minutes away from the Lankagama ticket counter. Water gushes through a narrow rock wall at a high speed, making it a very unique waterfall. Not an easy place to get a proper photograph of the waterfall.

Gal Oruwa Ella Falls’s catchments are the aquifers of Sinharaja Forest. The stream flows between two boulders measuring 30 m high 2 m wide & 40 m in lengths. There is a boulder at the bottom covering the fall on three sides, resembling a boat synonymous whit it’s name. Rock Boat The fall cascades into this boat shaped abyss, emitting a fearful roar.

Beautiful creation of the nature. Safety fence is there and small space to watch. Need to be very careful if you go with children.

You can see 100s of photos of this waterfall, but if you want to see the real beauty of this waterfall, you have to go there. This is the 3rd most beautifull waterfall I have ever seen in sri lanka(After Bomburu ella and Lakshapana)
