This
camp
is
a
one
the
most
known
NYSC(National
Youth
Service
Corp)
areas
in
Abuja.
This
is
where
the
NYSC
orientation
camp
takes
place
for
newly
starting
corpers.
They
have
to
spend
3
weeks
within
the
camp
as
part
of
the
youth
service.
There
are
series
of
activities
a
corper
has
to
take
part
within
the
camp.
This
includes
waking
up
very
early
at
4am,
marching
in
the
parade
for
hours
whether
it's
under
the
sun
or
in
the
rain,
taking
part
in
man-o-war
(an
obstacle
course),
attending
talks
organized
by
the
NYSC
and
so
on.
You
also
have
a
chance
to
take
part
in
small
Nysc
clubs
or
organization
which
can
influence
the
CDS
or
the
PPA
you
get.
It
is
very
much
advised
to
come
prepared
with
all
the
stuff
you
need
and
NEVER
EVER
have
positive
expectations
about
anything
you
will
experience
in
the
camp.
The
days
spent
in
the
camp
are
going
to
be
one
of
the
most
stressful
experience
in
your
life
(unless
you
did
military
before).
That's
exluding
other
drawbacks
in
the
camp.
You
may
have
a
room
with
no
fan,
window
or
electric
socket
or
all
together.
No
water
or
even
no
light.
This
camping
experience
is
not
for
the
faint
of
heart
but
it
will
make
you
a
stronger
person.
One
the
most
important
thing
you
need
you
get
out
of
the
camp
is
meeting
new
people
and
gaining
connection.
As
the
people
you
will
meet
in
camp
will
be
one
of
your
closest
friends
throughout
the
service
and
after.
Yes
you
will
complain
alot
about
many
things
in
the
camp,
even
the
country
itself.
But
you
will
complain
together
with
your
mates
which
the
strengthen
to
the
bond
of
friendship.
I
don't
ever
want
to
relieve
this
experience
again,
but
I
learned
alot
from
it.
