Had never been to University House when I was studying at University. But got an opportunity to go there recently with Welcome to Melbourne mentoring program.

This is one of my favourite work away from home or office locations

University House has been a beacon of sanity and grace for years, and never more so than in the last few months of the pandemic. With the reopening they have risen to new heights of service. A real gem in our academic community.

The chamber music was excellent, especially the variety. A suggestion for a future paid event a blues, jazz, rock and roll evening, with a musician like Sebastian, a dance space and finger food.

Staff really friendly, very good service. Food - average. Good selection of drinks.

Food is a bit expensive, we had salmon and okonomiyaki surf and turf style, taste not so impressive. We had a choice of either that or grilled vegetables, but they served randomly and I had to switch plates with my tablemate as I wanted the grilled salmon plate. It was explained that that is the usual practice (?) but it would have been easier to have asked us beforehand. Onion soup was a treat though.

Great food, friendly staff. The lemon curd muffins are the best I ever had! Great coffee too. Well worth the visit.
