Overcooked & dry scrambled eggs. Bacon was drowned in olive oil. Paid $32 for this amount. 5 eggs and 2 tiny pieces of bacon. Service was great though. Edited (16/07/23): I went back to give the dinner a try. Long wait so I got take away. Have a look… this was $38.90 by the way 😂 The chips tasted like servo fries from 2012, and the portion speaks for itself. The lamb wasn’t seasoned well. Seemed to be broiled or slow roasted but not flavoursome at all. The tzatziki was the only decent thing if I’m being honest; it came in a big tub too which is nice. But overall 2/10. Will not be coming back sadly. Used to hang out here many years ago.

My go to for a casual catch up with friends for dinner, coffee and cake. The team are always super friendly and always make room for you. The cake selection is unrivalled in the local area and always fresh. They make a great coffee too.

It's certainly my number one Greek restaurant in Melbourne! I've been several times to Vanilla and I mostly had a good experience. It's located in a bustling venue close to public transport. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. We never had to wait too long for our orders to arrive. They have a rich menu and it's reasonably priced. My favourite dish is their moussaka! They also have a wide range of cakes. The raffaello cake is my favourite one! It has a cosy atmosphere and a modern design. It can really be busy and hard to find a table at times but usually you don't have to wait long until a table becomes available. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Very nice, greek food. Some of the best dips and calamari in Oakleigh. I have had the deserts before and they are nice as well but they are very expensive. We had risotto and lamb skewers as well. All very nice and good quality. Highly recommend!

Love getting my takeaway desserts here. A tad on the expensive side and would appreciate if they showed their prices. So many freshly made desserts and have never been let down by any. Cannot really go wrong whatever you pick!

We just has our sons christening here upstairs in the function area (155 guests) on the weekend that just passed and wow!! So glad we held it there, Vicki and all the staff were fantastic! Very accommodating and the food was plentiful and very good! All my relos and friends were coming up to me telling me how much of a good time they had! The cake also from Vanilla (dealing with the other amazing Vicki) was exactly what I was after and tasted fantastic! Thanks again for making my sons christening so special!

The food at Vanilla was at best average when it comes to Greek food. The Chicken was sadly a bit dry and it felt as if there was not enough tzatziki. The chicken Gyros meal was a decent size, but for what it is, it feels just a bit overpriced. Service was good and seating outside gives it a good atmosphere.

Vanilla Lounge is simply awesome! Magnificent good, service and venue. We had a work function upstairs and John, Soph and George delivered excellent service - fast, friendly and non intrusive. Tasty dips and meats and mouth watering desserts with good servings. I heard the cakes and coffee downstairs was good too. Prices were reasonable. In short, check them out today!

A very popular place on this Thursday around 2pm. Our group of 4 were lucky to find a spot under the big shade umbrellas outside. There were some seats inside. We had table service and opted for dessert. Mille feuille (which is like a vanilla slice with a French twist) went down a treat. We were happy with the service - swift, attentive and friendly It is no wonder this is such a well attended place

Cheese & Bacon Panini - Absolute winner. 🥇 Coffee - Great taste, did not check what beans they use, but perfect for a hot or cold day. Service was so quick and efficient, staff came back a few times to check up on me, which is awesome! The price may be a little steep, definitely not the cheapest lunch, but the softness of the bread is well worth it (add relish to enhance the flavour).

When there is a line for a table, you know the restaurant is going to be good. The staff were great, so friendly! The food was amazing, loved the cocktails and the desserts were delicious. Cannot wait to go back.

Bought a Red Velvet cake for family event. After having a slice each, no one wanted the second slice. Very disappointed. The cake appearance looks good, which was the reason I chose it. The cake base is far too dark in colour to consider as red and just a little better than Woolie’s defrost mud cake in taste. The top decoration is tested like cheap icing. The whole cake is too sweet in my opinion. For $55, you can get a better cake somewhere else.

Cakes are all very delicious! Not too sweet to give you diabetes in a day. All of the selections are a must try! The staffs are all helpful and nice, too. I must admit that it can get very crowded, but that's what you get for going to a place that serves good food.

Easily located and accessible through the shops, vanilla lounge has great service and good food. Though food did take it's time to come out we did not feel like we were forgotten, the manager did follow up without us asking. Management also took our question on whether there were peanuts in the dessert (as a member of the family was allergic) very seriously. Very attentive service overall. The coffee was very good and the pasta and pulled pork are highly recommended. However, the burger was a bit dry and bland and the desserts were sweet but also lacking in other flavours. Overall a good experience and would go back again soon.

I've had an amazing experience here, the balance between the sweet jam and thick cream makes the pannacotta my favorite. Simple yet delightful. All the other cakes are pretty good and most of them taste really close to those I've tried back in Italy. Staff was friendly and did some amazing job in recommending some of the cakes. I will definitely recommend and visit again!

We came in for dessert and was impressed with the variety, so many to choose from. They were delicious served with a perfect cappuccino. Very nice comfortable venue with excellent customer service. Highly recommend.

Very busy and popular bakery and restaurant. Reservations are strongly advised on the weekends. I get it that they are busy but the waiter for our table was a little rude to my family when we requested more plates and utensils. Food was great and the bakery items look delicious but service was lacking.

We've visited this place on a weekend trip to Melbourne. On a Saturday evening it gets very busy, so except to wait for a while to get seated. We only had sweets and coffee. Sweets were quite ordinary, not as good as they looked although there were a great varieties to choose from.

Always good. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They're great if you have questions about the menu. The coffee is good and the cakes are delicious. There's a big range of meals too, healthy options and nice treats too. I always enjoy coming here!

A very busy place because it's popular however for me the USP of this restaurant is the wide of sweet varieties they offer. Tiramisu Pastes is my favourite. The only down thing I felt was the wait staff who sounded or looked eager that the guests should rush things to let them cater other customers which is fair enough but don't forget we pay a premium price to enjoy the ambience and food.

Delicious coffee and quality cakes and slices. Ibgmhad the Mars Bar slice, and 5o be honest it could have been half the size. It was a 3 × 3, and was so rich. It complemented to coffee superbly. A very happening place with a strong night life.

This place is rated highly, and for very good reason. The moment you enter you are greeting by friendly staff and guided to a table. There is the traditional ordering system, or a QR code on the table to order if you wish. The moussaka was the perfect size and absolutely delicious. Simple ingredients, but bold flavour. Reminded me of exactly how my nan makes it, absolutely delicious. The eggs Benedict was also fantastic value for money. The eggs perfectly poached and hollandaise sauce buttery. The coffee was also excellent (as expected in Oakleigh) and the perfect temperature. I try to visit at least once ever Melbourne trip and was not disappointed at all. They offer late opening hours and cater to the after dinner dessert and coffee late at night. We would absolutely return.

Had a team outing at Vanilla and I can recommend the meat platter and seafood platter to share between 4-5 people. Dont forget to get the pistachio rolled cake to finish off the meal!

Love this place. Visit here on a monthly basis to catch up with friends. Food is amazing, staff are so friendly, and even though they are super busy on Friday and Saturday nights, we've never had to wait long for our meals. Definitely a restaurant to visit 😊.

This is the vibe I was looking for for a long time. Went on a Saturday night around 10:30 and it was lit. The music, the crowd, the fancy loud bikes revving around. Reminded me of Bangalore (my hometown).

I held my daughter's 21st birthday at Vanilla last Friday night. It was spectacular! Everything about the evening was perfect! On arrival we were warmly welcomed and offered drinks while we waited for the guests to arrive so immediately felt relaxed. The staff were nothing short of amazing through the whole night. The area upstairs has recently been renovated and it's literally the perfect setting for any event. They even have a lift so my parents could access the 2nd floor with ease. The cake I ordered from Vanilla was exactly what I had in mind and was absolutely delicious. Food was amazing and plenty of it. Everyone was raving about it! We had the $60 banquet and I highly recommend it. This place will be my go to for all future events. Thanks for a great night Vanilla!

Went here with a friend and then come back by myself another day to get their Chicken Parma. Loveeee the Parma. Reasonable price. Went there on weekend and it is so crowded and busy. The waitresses tried their best to serve customers and I really appreciate it🤍

Good food, good cakes and good coffee. Customer service needs to be worked on maybe waiters need to be in charge of sections due to sometimes its hard to call for a waiter but understandable due to probable staff reductions due to pandemic.

Went with a group of 6 for brunch . Service was very good and fast even though restaurant was pretty full. We had a booth inside and it was roomy and comfortable. The food was well presented and good eating without being great. The menu items are extensive as is the desserts and cakes on offer although we didn’t try those. Will be back again.

Delighted with the overall experience at Oakleigh's must-visit spot! Exceptional service and a fantastic atmosphere. While the chicken and lamb skewers were slightly dry, the rest of the menu shines with greatness.

The Vanilla lounge was amazing! Food was delicious, servings were generous, prices were fair, staff were awesome, Vanilla is child friendly and the atmosphere was definitely one for the books. One downfall was the unavailable meals on the menu due to selling out but hey it's a popular place and we did have a late booking. I give this place an overall 10/10. Highly recommend this place.

Super busy and noisy but the interior is pretty nice. They also have outdoor seatings. Never actually try their food but their desserts is amazing. A wide selections of cakes and pastry can be found here, I particularly enjoy their custard mille feuille, opera cake ( gluten free) as well as the tiramisu. They also offers traditional greek desserts such as Ravani, baklava and galaktoboureko. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Very big and bustling restaurant in Oakleigh. The staff were great at the start. Drink a and entree came out very quick, the Halloumi chips were delicious. For mains we had the chicken and lemon potatoes and the prawn linguine with cream sauce. We couldn’t fault them so delicious. Unfortunately the 3 stars would of been 5 if a waiter would of came and offered the dessert menu. I had to go to the counter and ask then the waiter came literally straight away when not given a chance to look and never returned. We were there 90 mins after eating our main course with no more offering of drinks or desserts and couldn’t even wave down a waiter. It was very busy but there didn’t seem to be a system in place.

This was amazing spot for after work dinner. The food was delicious and the dessert option was huge. I was very surprised with the value when I got a few choice cakes to go. Will very much be coming back in the future for the desserts alone.
