I recently stayed at Compass Hostel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to offer recommendations on where to go and what to see in the area. The volunteers, especially Friedrich was very nice and always there for an interesting conversation. The hostel itself was very clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and a spacious common area for socializing and relaxing. The kitchen was also well-equipped for cooking meals, and there was a small supermarket nearby for buying groceries. One thing that stood out to me was the hostel's location - it was just a short walk from both the beach and the main shopping and dining area, making it easy to explore the city on foot. Overall, I highly recommend Compass Hostel for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Nice hostel, nice volunteers, nice conversations. I really recommend this hostel. It's brand new and in a good location. And a special thanks to Friedrich (a volunteer there). Greetings Eric

This hostel is really good and very clean and has the best volunteers, especially Tove, Valentina, and Rodrigo. They were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole duration of my stay. One thing that I know would make the hotel better is music, just some music to make it feel about more homely. Apart from that, everything else is good

Amazing crew. Love the vibe, when all is fine thereā€™s not much to say except that itā€™s one of the best spots in canaria to stay at!

I've met a lot of amazing peoples there that shared a bit of our journey. The manager is kind and take his time to help you and that's really something I won't forget. Got there in the beginning and at the end of our journey ; and it was really great, each time! It's close to the center as well to discover Las Palmas and then to prepare your next trip while meeting maybe new heads to share your journey! Don't even hesitate to go there!

Fantastic little hostel, and reading back on reviews I can already see they've taken on board feedback and improved! It's a new hostel, so the facilities are really great. Nice fresh decor, good storage space under the beds, and the bed itself was comfy too. Everything was clean and kept clean, there are 4 showers and 3 toilets which is plenty for the size of the hostel. Unlike other reviews thought the hostel was really quiet and respectful of sleep, except for snorers but that's just luck! Nice rooftop open from 9-9 each day. I like the location, there are loads of nice shops, restaurants etc. in the area. It's about 15 mins bus/25 mins on a city bike to get to the beach, so a bit far but wasn't really an issue. Really close to 2 bus stations where you can get to the airport for ā‚¬2.30 and all over the island. On the first night there was a 'family dinner' for ā‚¬5 which meant I met a lot of people very quickly. This was the only one on my trip, and l imagine without it it might've been harder to meet people as everyone is out doing different things/different schedules. Staff are always helpful and friendly, can tell they are proud of the hostel and looking after it and the guests. More family dinners would be good for meeting new people, as hostel turnover of guests is so fast itā€™s always good to meet new friends. A few guests had issues with food going missing, not the hostelā€™s fault at all, but maybe a camera or something as a deterrent could help solve this.

Great location close to Triana and San Telmo to travel easily around the island with a good supermarket a minute away on foot. You can use the buses or Las Palmas' Sitycleta city bikes to go to Las Canteras. Lots of bicycle lanes but better use Google Maps with all the one-way streets. ;-) Big common kitchen with induction cooktops, microwave oven, fridge and utensils (without conventional oven though). Nice showers, some space to work on your computer (a few tables in the main common room), and a little rooftop to relax during the day. There might be noise at night like in any hostel so bring your earplugs and you can also communicate easily with the manager who is often there during the day in case of any issue.
