Café Madrid

Restaurant Cafe Bar Coffee shop Mediterranean restaurant

😠 Café Madrid is located at a nice spot in the city. However, the food is way overpriced and you can get better service and quality anywhere else. Waiting to order, get the food and even pay takes ages despite the fact that the terrace is almost empty. Will never go here again. People often mention nice, good, staff,

Lovely location away from traffic near a fountain with comfortable wicker chairs. But, there was only one waitress at noon, who was overworked, and I had to wait 10 minutes to pay my bill.

Really low food quality for lunch menu, greasy or just not well cooked. It's cantine quality. Too bad that the square and hotel the restaurant belongs to are really nice, historic and pleasant for a lunch /afternoon meal. The kitchen really needs an upgrade. Also, it's totally not understandable why the big terrace umbrellas are all open on a couldy day. Staff are polite and nice.

Nice location with view to the cabinete literario building. Food was nice, patatas fritas (pommes frites) not crunchy. The croquetas a must! Gambas excellent. All over it was nice to eat there. Thanks

One of my favourite spots in Las Palmas. Always recommend a meal there with their friendly and attentive staff

We were eating here couple of years ago it was really good. We came here today again and it was the worste food I have consumed in Gran Canaria for a ridiculously price ! Convince food for nearly 20€ I was super annoyed and angry about that. Please don't visit this Restaurant!

My sister and I were in Las Palmas for one week holiday. We visited Cafe Madrid daily for food and drinks or only drinks. The food is of excellent quality for a very affordable price. Even a more unique selling point is the staff they have. The ladies and gents were so kind and really helpful. Even brought a table outside when everything was full. You will experience this yourself when you are there. But please reward them for it. It is not so common to give a good tip in Spain. But they deserve it!

Unfortunately my order was mistaken (I wanted a burger without onion - it was still quite alright) and my friend got sickness from carpaccio. Gazpacho was normal, nothing special. I would recommend choosing a dish without raw meat/fish. On a good note - the waitress was very nice and this place is located in a very nice area with good view.

Food very average. I had meatballs which were just OK. Luke warm, and some were cold. Came with a small portion of fries.

Amazing food. Fantastic "Sectreto". And great outdoor seating. Attention from waiter etc. Would absolutely go again

Taste of the food and location of the restaurant is great. On top of that, the inside of the restaurant is pretty nice with a touch of "old school" feeling to it. However, the slightly overpriced for the portion received in my opinion.

Cool place. I would strongly recommend the ensaladilla rusa (russian salad), fried squids and Spanish tortilla. Friendly and fast service all of it in a beautifuk surrounding full of history and charm

The shrimps were fried although in the menu it didn’t say this. Average everything here. The location is very central, pretty nice but I would recommend to keep walking because I think there are nicer places in this area.

I had a pretty traumatic experience here with the staff so I would advise against coming. If you do then make sure you be careful what you order because you might get a nasty shock.
