We stumbled across La Morue purely by chance, strolling around the area. What a fantastic welcome by the owner, who is definitely an extrovert and a bit nuts. We felt like the most important guests of the day, and he went out of his way to offer us food options suitable for a vegan diet. The summer salad with fruits was simply sensational - crunchy fresh salad items tempered with the sweetest, ripest fruit, balanced with a great vinaigrette and on-point seasoning. Fish soup was excellent - full of flavour and a good consistency. Mains of seared scallops with confit roasted vegetables and summer truffles was a triumph. A clam linguine was fresh, perfectly cooked, rich in flavour and substantial. Pricing was robust but not excessive, and reflective of the very high standard of the food and service.

A great seafood restaurant with creativity and fantastic presentation. Although it could be slow, the people working here are friendly and trying everything to serve you as quick as possible. It is worth waiting for whatever you choose because you won't be disappointed. The restaurant started at 19:30 instead of 19:00 which was on the Google map information. So the waitress told us to go somewhere and come back in 30mins... So we had to wait 30mins somewhere else. When we came back fortunately there was the owner who could give us a table for us. Otherwise it was already very crowded! So strongly recommended to reserve in advance!

We stayed in Montpellier for 4 days and this is the best seafood restaurant we have ever been. We ordered the seafood mixed plat which you need to “demande le tableau” about 37 euros /person and mixed with 5 types of seafood, super fresh, super tasty not just simple grilled or boiled. The service is also very good, although everyone in the restaurant is super busy but the waiting is worthy! All the meal looks good (we keep observing other people’s food) and they are really specialize in seafood! YOU MUST GO THERE TO EAT!

Excellent restaurant. From the moment we stepped in we felt the warmth and good humor of the staff. The restaurant was comfortable. In terms of cuisine, they lived up to their reputation. The fish was excellent, both entrees and plats. The wine was solid (and mostly from the region). Even the madeleine served with the coffee was delicious. I am not mentioning any particular dish as this is the sort of place where you can trust the chef and order what appeals to you. If you love fish eat here.

Absolutely a must-go place! Fantastic dishes with fresh seafood, tasty and cooked to perfection, in a lovely setting just off the main street. The owner is very welcoming, super-friendly and the atmosphere is great. Wholeheartedly recommended!

The restaurant is an absolute must for seafood lovers; each dish was a culinary masterpiece, a testament to the freshness of the ingredients and the chef's brilliance. What took the dining experience a notch higher was the ever-smiling, welcoming waiter. Attentive, personable, and well-versed in the menu, his service was exceptional and contributed greatly to the overall charm of the restaurant. We were strolling around Montpellier and ate in this restaurant by chance. It really made my day. I hv never eaten such a great Slipped Lobster linguini before. I have travelled in France for 10 days from Paris, Loire Valley to Avignon. This is the best seafood restaurant so far. Recipe was from the owner’s grandma. Try it for yourself!

Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had in a lively and fun setting. They know their food is exceptional, but the atmosphere was neither snobby, nor pretentious. Every mouthful was a delight! We had calamari, ceviche and shrimp to start, followed by linguine with fresh clams ( incredible !) and coquilles. So great to have fun and eat spectacularly.. Merci et « vive le Canada »

Came here with my mum to celebrate her birthday. We were welcomed so warmly by the team. The food was absolutely amazing and great wine recommendation. Can’t rate this place high enough.
