Really interesting museum to learn more about Lausanne. The model is fascinating, you can try to recognize streets and places you might now.

If you live in Lausanne, it's a must see. You can understand the reason why its urbanistic situation is what it is now, and learn the historic background of its evolution, through photos, movies and descriptions. A mock up of the town in its late middle age, occupying an entire hall, is probably the most attractive element in the exhibition.

Comprehensive and interactive museum, telling you via themes and topical objects the history of our fair city. Check out their themed birthday activities

Very interesting collection and audio-visual aids that tell the history of Lausanne, with focus on urbanism. The model/maquette of the city in the middle ages (with the video that runs every 5 minutes) is no doubt the highlight of this museum.

Awesome model of historic Lausanne. Cool building. Entry isn't too expensive. No English info for the audio of the model city exhibition yet.

Very well laid out museum. Not very big but it has a lot of information to soak in. I thought it was a good well rounded introduction to the history of the area.

there are some interesting maquettes and over all this museum could be good if not for the two things. in the summer it's very hot in there, no respite from the heat wave outside. Also, I I think it's a bit expensive.

A lovely location and an interesting museum, but a bit confusing because the heterogeneous collection of items is not explained in a clear fashion on not very legible signs. Still worth a visit.

I have been living in Lausanne for almost ten years and finally now got to learn about it's architecture, history and influences throughout the years. The museum is wonderful, really immersive and the staff is great. Check out their bookshop with historical and contemporary photo books on daily trips, famous restaurants in Lausanne and other interesting things you can visit.

Wonderful museum. Very immersive. The temporary exhibitions are always great. There is a gem of a find, their cafe. You have to ask the front desk to let you in and it’s a beautiful terrace with a view of the city. I really shouldn’t tell you this as it is so nice and quiet and quaint.
