I caught métro line 2 from the main station. 2 stops and then as I walked to the Cathedral I found this place by coincidence as it was not part of my places to visit. It was a crowded place because a lot of people were selling vegetables, cheese and many other things. (Guess Saturdays are "market days"). Very picturesque.

Place de la Palud in Lausanne is a charming square that serves as the heart of the city’s old town. It’s a vibrant area, with cobblestone streets adding to its historic charm. One of the standout features of the square is the automated clock, which adds a unique touch to the area. The Fountain of Justice is another notable feature, with its captivating statue. On weekends, the square transforms into a bustling market, offering an array of goods and foods. It’s a great place to explore, whether you’re looking for fresh produce or simply want to soak in the lively atmosphere. In summary, Place de la Palud is a must-visit when in Lausanne. With its historic charm, unique features, and vibrant weekend market, it offers a truly memorable experience

In the heart in the Lausanne. Surrounded by old historic buildings and picturesque little streets, the square is the place to feel the tourist pulse of the city. Every round hour, little dancing dolls come out of the clock tower and create an additional experience with their performance. A good place for a glass of wine or beer in the middle of the day you choose to tour Lausanne.

Great place in the heart of Lausanne city. Seem like a lot of gatherings takes place on this square. More commercial streets around but still keeps a cool look with minimum of commercials and logos.

Nothing particularly special about this old town square. Some areas are a little steep to walk. Would avoid heels given the cobblestone. Located between metro stops Lausanne-Flor and Riponne M Béjart

Nice market here on Saturdays, but not as good as the child-eating statue in Berne.

Love this place! Every inch of it just felt like it was from a movie. The buildings are so pretty and it blended well with the morning market. Came on a Wednesday and they sell lots of things in the morning market. Too bad they only accept cash:(

This magical place shows its charm in the evening especially. The city hall has amazing lighting and flower exhibitions throughout the year. There is a city clock that has a little figurine show every hour. Check it out!

It's part of Lausanne, so 5 stars are the minimum. Yes, I like this beautiful city. The only one with a Metro in Switzerland !

Very cute plaza in old town Lausanne on the way to the cathedral! There are some shops and cafes in the area. We stopped to take some photos and walk around.

Beautiful fountain surrounded by cool buildings and shops in the old town of Lausanne. The market that is setup on Saturdays isn't particularly large but has a good selection of local vegetables and some take away foods
