This hotel is decently modern and well-located, but really just isn’t taken care of properly. There is no longer any reception, because they don’t have enough employees - we were forced to walk two blocks downhill with our suitcases to check in at a sister property. Our shower broke on us during our stay, and since there was no reception we would have had to call the other hotel to get someone to help out, which wasn’t worth the effort. The rooms, although nice enough, are very small and cramped. This place is a decent option if you just need a cheap place to sleep during a short stay in Lausanne, like we did, but honestly isn’t worth staying at otherwise.

Paid 102 CHF for a stay from SAT to SUN - really cheap for Lausanne. The Hotel is located 1 min from the Metró-Station and a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral and old town. The room nice and pretty clean at first sight. There was a used, half full water glass in the cupboard though, which was a bit unpleasant ans the carpet was kind of dusty. The corridors and stairwell were under construction, it was super dusty and dirty. There were also no exit signs in the stairwell and we couldn't find a way to the reception. Thank god there was no fire alarm. In conclusion - good accomodation when you're on a budget - but you should communicate to your guests that the place is under construction.

I'm going to share my experience with all of you. I was traveling from Germany to Lausanne by train all day. The train had a delay of approx. 2 hours. I received an email from the hotel saying I should do the check in between 15h and 23h. Because of the train delay I was worried about what would happen if I arrive after 23h, so I emailed them and they said no problem I can do the check-in in the hotel 'next door'. FYI, I already did an online check-in and I paid the fees in advance online. I arrived at the hotel door at exactly 22:34, I was paying for the taxi and the receptionist just closed the door and left. I had 2 suitcases, I had a long day of travel and I received no empathy. On the door, there was a note saying that the check-in closes at 22:30, and if I arrive after I should go to the hotel 'next door', well surprise the hotel isn't next door but down the street and it was a hill like street and I wasn't informed about the change in time (from 23h to 22:30h). So I went with my luggage to the other hotel they gave me the keys and I went back to the original hotel. I managed to open the hotel door, once I arrived at my room the door wouldn't open. So .... I went back and they fixed the problem. Other than the above I can say that the room was good I liked it, It was very well equipped and the location of the hotel was awesome.

Great place for travelers, great accommodation and it is close to the train station. When you arrive you receive a free card to use the buses, you don't have to pay anything. It also have a great option for breakfast and dinner.

Hotel to use only if you're on budget. The location is great but that's it.

Breakfast is NOT included, if you eat the food and coffee they set out you will be charged 20 francs each.

Very well situated hotel. Close to the center, close to a big parking. The hotel is like brand new. The room are well decorated. The service good as expected. I didn't had time to try the breakfast, but I should have. My friend who were staying with me told me it was great ! A place to recommend in Lausanne for a good price.

It was crowded but other guests were friendly and/or keep to themselves. You get a transportation pass for the city which is helpful. It's very close to the train station. The guy who checked me in was nice and very helpful! You do have to check out by 10 a.m.

Very easily accessible from train station, they provide maps at station and signs along the way. Staff was sooo helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Bathrooms and rooms were clean. Nice views. Wonderful city, enjoyed our stay.

Good Price... Amazing view from the room!

Nice rooms and very good location within the city. In April 2016 the prices seemed to be very good compared to other hostels in the city. I want to emphasize that the service was incredibly friendly and really made the stay a pleasure. They provided an adapter and shampoo (forgot both) for free. If I ever come to Lausanne again I will definitely stay at Lausanne Guesthouse & Backpacker :)

Inexpensive accommodations without all of the frills such as in-room phone, fridge or bureau/dresser but in a good location not far from bus stops or train station. Every imaginable shop and restaurant is within walking distance so it is not difficult to find anything. Staff are pleasant and front desk staff who largely speak good English will help you find anything or get anywhere. Very enjoyable place to stay with good hot water and an elevator that is near to all rooms on each floor. Nice verandah in the rear with outdoor seating and nicely appointed area with tables and seating off the front desk to sit and read.

You get what you pay for. Not a lot in my case. Airco would have been nice.

David, night receptionist on 20-21 May was extremely welcoming. Nice bloke with great attitude. Love his helpfulness. We arrived at 00h42 and were exhausted. David's welcome made a huge difference. Thanks again. As for the hotel itself, great deco. Clean room and everything you need to have a great sleep. Well done!

The rooms are well-equipped, but the bedsheets are washed with a low-quality detergent. Following an allergic reaction, the manager told me that 'no one had ever complained' and no longer replied to me. Corridors and common rooms are not taken care of properly. I did not enjoy my stay and would unfortunately not recommend this hotel, despite its good location.

2 nights for a business trip in December 2023 The hotel was apparently recently worked on and everything from the rooms to the corridors and breakfast area was neat and tidy. Beyond the great location what really stood out was the staff, I got to interact with about 8 different members of the staff and all of them were beyond courteous and professional, they were remarkably helpful and amiable. I would absolutely recommend this place if you are travelling solo for work and want to rest in a cosy hotel ( I rarely write reviews, that's how nice it was).
