This two-tier aqueduct looks like it was built in ancient Roman times but it dates back to 1766. The water was stored in the temple-like reservoir. Impressive architectural feature. No longe in use.

A relatively recent aqueduct, Aqueduc Saint-Clément was built less than three hundred years ago in the middle of the eighteenth century. Its main inspiration, the Pont du Gard, had been built by the Romans some 1700 years before. In 1954, the aqueduct was added to the list of French historical monuments. It's an impressive structure that's worth a visit, regardless of history, inspiration and age.

Impressive 18th century aqueduct. Impressive architectural feat. It may be on the Roman Road but do not confuse it with the Romans !!

Great Roman architecture there is a market under the aquaduct there is a lot of parking around here soon I would recommend parking here and then walk under the aquaduct and then through the parc de peyrou towards the town center parking costs 1.50 euro per an hour plenty of places for eating and refreshments

The aqueduct was built in the old roman style and it really does make you feel like you're in a different time. It's really beautiful and being in the middle of a little town like Montpellier adds a lot of character. You can just walk around the park and admire the scenery and the architecture. Maybe sit on a bench around there and have a coffee or some lunch.

This place is Wow!! It is so beautiful especially in the evening. We visited Montpellier in hot summer season. It was extremely pleasant to visit this park in the night. The cool breeze was constant. The lights made everything magical.

Great relaxing place to stroll on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Have a go at the sundial, too, and read some history of French resistance during the war.

Situated next to a car park. Worth a 30minutes trip to visit and chill at the benches in the park.

Very cool engineering feature. Use your translator to read the history of the aqueducts.

At a glance you would think that this aqueduct has stood since the Roman occupation, however, unlike the Pont du Gard near Nimes it's only about 250 years old. That said it's still an imposing and impressive architectural and engineering feat and we'll worth a visit if you're in Montpellier. Take a stroll along its length, down the tree-lined and arrow straight Boulevard des Arceaux towards the Promenade du Peyrou, under the Arc de Triomphe into then the old city. The route provides ample photo opportunities.

During a stay in Montpellier, I absolutely had to visit the Equaduct de Saint-Clément. A very imposing structure. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best. But the weather created an almost ghostly atmosphere. Definitely worth a short visit when you are in Montpellier.

A neat piece of preserved architecture that is a part of the city’s long history. Only thing missing: a sign explaining what in the world it actually is.

This is for those who are interested with architecture/engineering. We had two hours to kill till our next train so we walked from Gare de Montpellier Saint-Roch to check out this aqueduct that was inspired by Pont du Gard. Quite interesting, but nothing like the original. IG 📷: thearchitectshoots

Beautiful view, because of some building rules you can see over the whole city.
