Hadn't been to the Pinnacle since my son was probably 1 so nearly 15 years later we finally got to come back. It was a beautiful day and not very crowded like some of the other Parks. Great views and also saw some of the wildlife going up. My whole family enjoyed it. We will be back soon.

Day we went, there was a lady at the visitors' center showing how textiles were made by pioneers. She was very pleasant and informative. Held my girls attention. We drove up to Pinnacle Overlook, spectacular views, and a very curvy road. We hiked to the iron furnace and the Cumberland Gap historical marker from a parking lot in Virginia. Going to the landmarks was all uphill. Rangers in the visitors center were very helpful. Don't forgot you Passport Stamps! (They have a soft pad under the stamping surface,so don't rock stamp around too much or it's unreadable).

Oh my gosh! This is such a beautiful and historic American Icon. How the west was won starts here! There is a great visitors center and so many hiking options. The drive through the Gap Tunnel is so cool. I saw wildlife and nature’s stunning vistas galore! I love it here!

So much history to see, beautiful scenery to look at, and trails to explore. You can stand in three states at one time. You can go to the top of a mountain and see for miles around in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. Take a day and explore, you won't regret it.

5/8/2023 visit: We were certainly enlightened by the two movies (one about Daniel Boone and his efforts to get people through the Gap and the other about the hundreds of thousands of people who went through the Gap looking for a better life). The museum is small yet full of information. The store has a good selection including the National Parks stickers. We drove up to the Thomas Walker Parking Area where you start the hike to the Indian Rock; the Cumberland Gap Pass and the Tri-State Peak (where KY/TN/VA meet). It’s about 2.5 miles round trip from the parking area. The ranger and the other staff were all very friendly and informative. The beauty of the area is very evident.

The fall foliage is in full shift, and the views are breathtaking! Go all the way to the top to the Pinnacle for spectacular panoramas. If you are on a motorcycle, your skills better be up to the task for numerous challenging hairpin switchbacks. It is worth the ride, whether you're in a car/van/truck or on a motorcycle. Don't miss it!!

Trails are good lengths, some flat and some a little challenging. But overall, it's very beautiful for hiking. The road to Pinnacle Point is a very curvy road. But also a beautiful drive.

If you're going into Tennessee and passing by, I highly recommend the quick stop to check out this amazing view. Over 2,500 feet up, you can see three three states in one place. There is a short walk from the parking lot. Restrooms are also located at the parking area.

Great hiking, so much to take in! We parked at the earthworks and then hiked up to the Pinnacle. The view is amazing! Be sure to stop by the visitors center for some great history, and if you're lucky you might catch some reenactors, too

Had a great time here. My only regret is that I wasn't able to budget more time this trip. The views were awesome and the park is very well kept. I am trying to line up a trip early fall before the color change crowd rolls in.

A nice place to enjoy the beautiful scenery of 3 states and the surrounding mountainside, while learning history behind the Cumberland Gap! You can drive up the mountain to The Pinaccle Overlook or hike up the walking trails like I did to enjoy the scenery and watching my kids do it! My 2, 3, 4 and 6 year olds hiked it with exception of carrying my 2 and 3 year old a little of the way back to truck because of being wore out a little.

Once we got to the visitor center, we found the 20 minute film informative. The museum displays filled in history beyond that of the film. The staff were helpful in describing the drive to the Pinnacle Overlook and what to expect on our arrival. The view was spectacular, well worth the slow drive up the mountain through multiple switchbacks. Recommend you do not follow Google maps to get to the park. We saw parts of Kentucky mostly visited by those who live there after it routed us on small state highways that took us 25 miles out of our way. On hind sight, we should have reviewed the map and the directions since the National Historical Park visitor center is close to US 25E.

Took a nice, almost hour hike, from Iron Forge parking area to the Tri-State Peak. Pretty cool spot to visit. The trail was nicely graveled at the beginning, then had areas that had been washed away, exposing bigger rocks underneath. Still pretty easy to hike up the trail. Then went to the Gap Cave on the way back down to the parking area.

Wow! The rich historical recorded facts about when and how and why this place is and was so significant to the growth of this country and the peoples struggles to expand deeper into the interior of these mountains is fantastic! We're so glad we took the time to drive up to this area and a bonus was the drive thru Tennessee's longest tunnel of over 4,000 ft which passed through underneath the mountains just beside the gap. It's a two tube tunnel with one going north and the other heading south, four lanes total and very well lit for you scared folks. Impressive!

We went out of way on our trip to visit the Gap. It was well worth it. The only thing I wish is that there was more clarity that there was a hike to the tri state point. We were not prepared time wise or how we were dressed. It was something we were looking forward to but were not able to take the time. Beautiful area!

Beautiful and serene. The hiking trails are fantastic and the scenery is simply breathtaking. All in all, visiting was a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend. In fact, it does seem like this wonderful historical park could easily be re-designated as a regular National Park.

👍 First off, it's super convenient to take this to Key West. Do NOT expect first class cruise ship experience. Come in thinking it's a relaxing little ferry ride with a full bar. The food is nothing special, but at least it's something to put into your stomach until you make it to Key West. Being th...
