This is a superb place to begin your day in Leipzig. The breakfast in exquisite, the service impeccable, and the prices surprisingly democratic. We were here twice: on Sunday for brunch (at €14,90 including a glass of orange juice) and on Tuesday for breakfast (at €9,90). We were so surprised to find the place totally packed on Tuesday (it was raining, and the large terrace was closed) and we almost left when a friendly staff member offered us a table with a reservation after a 5-minutes wait. We were so grateful: totally worth it! Excellent to end our vacation in Leipzig here!

Love this place and I always come back here to have lunch, dinner and drinks with some friends. The cocktails are always a must-try, even the alcohol-free ones! Absolutely amazing.

Let's review... Brunch.. potatoes cold.. sausages ..pork? Definitely not beef... Bacon..not a single stripe.. Eggs..not tasty at all...and beans? Nope ..not here....i ordered an apple juice.. well.. it was simply forgotten..... the included orange juice? ..well i was almost done when that juice finally arrived.. it was a very sad experience.. compare it to a Denny's? Don't get me laughing.... Oh.. the Apple juice is here.. what a surprise.. anyway.. do i recommend coming here....well...no

I've been many times in this Cafe Alex before and never had such a bad experience. But today I have very bad customer service ever!. After more than 20 minutes waiting and we said to this particular waiter please we want to order, the waiter said to us the other customer want to order as well. And what a surprised,the waiter came to us again and said if we can't wait we could go to another restaurant , instead of politely saying please be patient. He doesn't need to be so nice with us but at least not so rude. Will not recommend it and I will never go again there! Thank you

Top place. Beautiful athmosphere middle in city centre, but still nice and quiet. Plenty of sitting room outside and inside. The food is delicious and service is quick and friendly. Cocktails are delicious. Prices reasonable.

Gorgeous place! The service is absolutely incredible - polite and caring. The food is so delicious! Portions are so big and the prices completely fare. Everybody should visit this place at least once. One of the best restaurants/cafes/vars in Leipzig. Definitely recommend!

Nice place, good food. A wide variety of cuisines, meaning there is not much to choose from if you are set on one cuisine. More expensive than expected, but all within a reasonable width.

Actually, I would only give 2.5 ⭐ would it be possible. 😐 We waited more than 1 hour to get our food.🙄 We almost wanted to leave, the restaurant was very full. (a little information for us that it is taking longer today would have been nice) The food was rather average. The fries were without salt and there was hardly any pepper or salt in the meat either. We wouldn't come back for that. 😕 The staff was friendly but way too busy. 😬

Small, cold, dull, seasoned portions, served with very long waits, accompanied by a toilet door that squeaks every time it's opened. It is such a high-pitched squeak that it reminds me of a fork scratching across a plate (shivers). On top of that, it emitted a rather nasty common toilet odour. We moved seats as it wasn't too crowded that day, which didn't help much. After 30 minutes our drinks finally arrived, the ice was almost gone. The few cubes that were left in my drink tasted kind of salty for some reason. Food...... ~21€ for steak and fries..... arrived after a 1 hour wait: The 20 sticks of fries they served were those cheap frozen bag fries you usually make at home in the oven. All you have to do is leave them in for too long so that they get hard and dry, and now let them cool down to more cold than warm, to get an idea of what you get at Alex. They try to counter the cold food with piping hot plates, which either doesn't work or, if it does, makes me worry even more about how cold the food really must have been. The steak came pink as ordered, but was like chewing gum with no seasoning. It's the first time for me and definitely the last.

Perfectly pleasant meal, good service, and all very relaxed. I probably wouldn’t rush back, as it’s just a chain and it would be good to try somewhere else. We ended up here because all the restaurants around Marktplatz were full, but we weren’t disappointed.

There is the only good place for breakfast! Very cheap and delicious buffets! I tried many place but Alex is super place with relaxing environment.

Nice ambiance with outer sitting option. We order various dishes like burger was okay, so was potato with cream. But I wouldn’t recommend choosing the asian options even by mistake, those dishes are horrendous. Bigger joke is on asking the dish to be a tiny bit spicy they served a red 🌶️ with the food and added an extra euro in the bill. That’s outrageous. Never coming back.

Sunny day in Leipzig? Then you have to come here to have a drink or eat. Well, to be honest we came here just for a coffee, but we really enjoyed it so we stayed longer for drinks!!!! The waitress was fast and friendly!!!! It was so vivid here! We didn't try the food, but next time we will for sure.

The cheesecake was the best I had in Germany. We also ordered hot Apple Tart with ice cream.. 100/10 Nice place and friendly staff ! Totally recommended

First, the staff is very nice and welcoming. However, this cannot compensate for how tasteless everything was. Veggies and Fruits had zero taste. Pancakes were next level awful! Only some of the store-bought things tasted good. But obviously, it’s sugar… what can be untaste about that? It’s advisable that the owners and chef of the place take their visitors seriously and invest in the food’s quality instead of the buffet quantity experience. Best Regards

Attentive and super friendly service, which is hard to find in Leipzig! The ice cream is delicious and it’s decently priced. The views are great too. Definitely will make this one of my regular places!

The menu is very expensive and the wait is very long, the restaraunt is always packed with people and it's often hard to have a conversation with the people at your table. The burgers are decent, nothing special and seem overpriced, nothing to complain about in terms of quality or taste. The staff are very friendly and try their best to make the experience better.

My new favorite place in Leipzig for cocktails and a nice meal! The atmosphere is great and the menu even better! There's a good cocktail bar and brunch on Sundays.

Best breakfast buffet I had in Germany so far. Big place, lots of fresh options and friendly staff. Definetely will recommend to friends and I'll visit again once in Leipzig.

It is a disaster restaurant I have ever experienced. They brought really bad food for my friends but they forgot my food. The staff were so tired and behaving so bad. I told them that why I should wait when my friends are eating and they just laughed to me. At, the end they wanted to charge me double and if I was careful they would take 14 euros for simple soft drink.

I honestly had very low expectations since it's a German chain restaurant, and very rarely do you find any adventurous or delicious dishes in most of them. Alex seems to be different. They have a huge variety of choices on the menu, I think there's really something for everyone here. The dish I had (BBQ shrimp bowl which comes with rice, tons of raw veggies and an interesting peanut-sesame sauce, pickled ginger, among other ingredients/flavours) was simultaneously refreshing and filling. I'll be back with my husband next time. Good choice of "lemonades" as well.

We had breakfast (buffet) there on a Wednesday morning during the school holidays, so it was busy but not as busy as usual. The choice of food options was huge and all very tasty. Coffee and tea are extra to pay for, but that's okay. Our waitress was very nice also. All in all a very good experience and would definitely go there again 🙂

Excellent staff and service, all waiters very attentive. In my case, Gabriel attended me and he is super friendly. I recommend 100% and I hope to repeat.

Overrated price and dishes. Prawn pasta that is very under seasoning. I needed to add salt myself. A very small amount of pesto added to your pasta that you barely taste it. Watermelon lemonade taste decent but do expect everything to be syrup and sugary here.

Beautiful place and good drinks...BUT we literally had to wait 40 minutes to get our food which was frozen cold. Seriously. They probably just forgot about it. Plus, It looked like a meal that came straight out from a supermarket store. Very plain, not creative-looking servings. And this after 40 minutes of wait.
