Tanner's Bar & Grill is a staple sports bar in our community. As a Denver Broncos fan in the KC area it can sometimes be difficult to get an establishment to show my beloved Broncos. Never an issue at this Tanners. Svet, Angie, and Amber have all been very accommodating each and every visit. And Friday Prime Rib night is KILLER!!! The $15.00 KC strip 🥩 and baked potato 🥔is insanely delicious and economical! And Bingo Night is So Fun!

Meghann was our server and she was wonderful!! Very attentive! Food was hot and very tasty! Looking forward to going back.😊

I love going there on karaoke nights! Angie and Hilary are the best bartenders and are always so fun to be around! The new dj is so great and plays fun karaoke songs! Better than the last guy who only played nine inch nails and rage against the machine…

My mother got the Big Bang Shrimp and said it smelled like it had gone rotten. I received a rock hard baked potato. We tried some of the other things we had ordered but weren't able to get more than a few bites in of any of the items we received because it was extremely old or had gone bad. I had to throw it all out. It's too bad because we usually order several dishes and have it over a few days. We ordered three hours before the kitchen closed so I know it wasn't a scramble to make our order. I feel physically ill several hours after eating what I was able to.

Katie is amazing! We had a last minute large party but didn't have to wait for anything even though Katie had another large group. The food was great (except the missing Southwest Eggrolls which are apparently never in stock). It was a great time. Thanks Tanners and Katie!

Good drink the audios mf is my favorite drink. The manager took good care of me as my food was kinda salty. I don’t appreciate my waitress deliberately walking past me not taking my payment or bringing napkins at first. The environment is cool though. I may be back

Spacious hangout spot with a long bar and a lot of tables. Played the basketball arcade game then hung out on the patio for a long time. We had to order from the bar each time we wanted a beer because no servers ever came to us. Then when I paid $9.00 for the plain fried chicken lips, it does not even come with a side of fries. All sides are extra. They were crispy good but really no side.

I would give a zero if I could. It was my first and last time going. I wanted to try it since I heard good things about it so my girl-friend and I stopped by for our lunch, as we get an hour to eat. We seat ourselves and wait 10 minutes just to be ask what we want to drink. By that time we were ready to order, but our sever just walked away after telling her our drink order. Sat for another 10 minutes while she chatted with a table and also took the order of a table that came in at least 5 or 10 minutes after we did. When she walked passed our table without saying anything to us we left after 20 minutes of just terrible attentiveness and professionalism. And I have been a server over 15 years and would never allow that to happen. Especially in such a small establishment.

There was a time when I was a very frequent flyer here. A few years back my girlfriend and stop in one afternoon sat at a high-top for a good 10 minutes and didn't get so much as a hi. Understand we were on of the few customers at the time. We left without ordering. Many years have passed since the day and we decided to give a try. I'm going charitable and say I can't see going back again. I remember how great this was shortly after it opened. It's not like that anymore. It's sad......

Food was great! Waitress was awful! She was too busy strutting around the men, asked for refills on drinks and kept forgetting us! Was going to leave her a minimal tip if that but she stood right by us the whole time.

I come here every week for trivia and every week I'm a bit more disappointed. Over the past few months I've had only 2 great experiences at tanners. Most of the times are decent at best, with either the food not being up to par or the service being bad/uncomfortable. Last week we were sat at a table for 2 hours for trivia and in that time we were seen by the waitress only 5 times. We had 3 cups of water for 4 people, no silverware or napkins, and other staff came to assist us before our waitress did. We were always quick to ask for what we needed yet somehow things were never delivered (like our 4th water). I really do love the menu and the trivia, but if this keeps up I will find the same trivia elsewhere.

Decent bar and grill with fairly standard menu offerings (wings are good). Friendly staff, seemed to be populated with quite a few regulars, which highlights the atmosphere. Open later than most of the other restaurants in the area, so a good option for late-arriving travelers.

Have been a long time patron of Tanners in Lenexa and almost always happy with the food and service. Not tonight. How In The World do you run out of steak 3 hours in to steak night???? And when asked, they didn't really know why. They had prepped to have 50 steak dinners, on steak night on Thurs night football, knowing what size of crowds they have been having. Don't get me wrong, I still like Tanners, and wait staff are always friendly. This is just a major failure in planning.

Our server was a doll! My wrap came out sliced diagonally and made for a very messy meal. 😬 Did not enjoy that. My daughter's wings were very bland and they were out of mozzarella sticks. I don't think we'll be back to this location.

Great food great drinks great service great atmosphere. Love going to the events they have there as well So much fun

The shrimp appetizer was delicious. Drinks were a little bit on the pricey side, but only by a dollar or so. Great bar if you're in the area.

Came into town for the NFL Draft and got to spend some time at Tanners. First of all, a remarkable gem outside main KC. The biggest factor was our server Katie. She was extremely attentive who consistently and promptly was there to take orders for drinks and food. She was amazing, on a level that you do not find in the service industry these days. She was so proficient and professional, it was almost magic that as soon as we were in need, there she was. She is witty and a great conversationalist. Absolutely highly impressed with this place. And Katie was a big part of that reason. I very much look forward to coming back at every opportunity. If you are looking for a fun but low-key mellow establishment, I highly recommend. Ask for Katie as your server and it's impossible to be disappointed. You'll have an amazing time. 5 stars to the max.

The food was great and came out super fast despite the size of our group of 10+ people. Everything was nice and clean and felt well taken care of. Our server Lexi was great and took care of everyone wonderfully!

Service was abhorrent. Our waitress only came out of the break room to bring our food and apparently forgot to put in my friends order because he got no food. 10 minutes later she came out and said his food got missed and is cooking now and it still took another 20 minutes to get his food. 30 minutes after the rest of us got served. He also didn’t get part of his order but we couldn’t get it fixed because we didn’t see our waitress again for 20 minutes. There’s was also freezing cold air blowing on us the whole time. We then could find zero servers to ask for our check and had to go to the server stand and get the attention of the waitress texting on her phone to get our check. Food was ok but all of it was cold when it was served and colder sitting under a freezing air vent in February.

I ordered the Salmon salad today and my salmon was undercooked. The thicker part was raw. The thinner part flaky. I didn't wanna deal with the questions and or bother to go back over there. But for 16 dollars for a salad I'd expect it to be done.

We had a bigger party on the side area. Our server Katie was incredible. Such an on-point genuinely friendly and attentive server. We had probably 15 people and she always called us all by our names. But not like looking at her tablet to get the name right- very genuine! She knew my name right after she asked. Suggested fruity bar drinks for my friends who didn’t know what they wanted. Food is always good. Great atmosphere. But try to get Katie as your server and your night will be awesome!

Stopped in to watch college football. The game I was wanting to watch wasn't on their monitors. Without asking they changed the channel based on my team gear.

We stopped in this location on our way to an event as we were early and Tanner's has always been a great place to grab a drink and a quick bite. The food we had was great, server was very sweet but we had to ask for silverware and were never actually given a plate, but the bartender was what got us. First, she had no idea about the type of spirit we ordered. (It was tequila and our server had to explain it to her.) Second, she was chewing gum so obnoxiously the entire time she was pouring, serving drinks and food, speaking to people, and handling money. Never observed her washing her hands between handling money and making drinks or serving food. (Actually, never saw her wash her hands at all while we were there and I had a clear line of vision of every action she took in the hour we were there.) If I could give a 3.5, I would, but it only allows a three or a four, so the four is what I chose because the food was great and our server was quick to get our drinks and food to us. Somebody needs to explain to that bartender about that gum, though! The spittle I saw pop from her mouth a couple of times was disturbing, and the reason we didn't ask for a second drink.

This is my go to spot for tasty chicken fingers and great Buffalo sauce! Servers are always friendly and on point with refilling drinks! Also recommend the chips and dip, tacos or taco salad!

I stopped by for a beer. Pleasant atmosphere and happy hours might be found here. But I live in Cincinnati. I'd go back for sure.

Good place with NFL ticket but it's full of jayhawk fans.

I was there last night and the place was out of control. There was more attention shown to the that lost a family member than that of the customer. I have all the sympathy for her lose but that was the center of everything not the customer. Kids sitting at the bar causing a scene and being encouraged by an employee that wasn't even working. I was judged because I came in there to enjoy a beer and food. It took forever to get any of it. I am sorry but I won't return. Myself and many of my friends and frat brothers used to be in there all the time.

I have been coming to tanners on 87th for nearly 10 years if not more. This place is great amazing food, atmosphere and everything but the best part is the staff, everyone here is always friendly and talkative. I couldn't recommend this place enough

I essentially grew up here. Food is great. Service is good. And a great place to watch a game.

Fun atmosphere. Played music bingo. Had a blast. Onion rings and mozzarella sticks were delicious!

Service was a little slow as our waitress had to be flagged down several times for us to request things we needed such as napkins, utensils, refills etc. I had the cheeseburger with fries and thought it was good but not great. My friends both had buffalo wings and said they were really good. Bar scene was lively and looked like a relaxed atmosphere prevailed. Looked like a good place for after work drinks. This place is worth a visit and I will be back.

We've quickly become regulars. The specials are great food and for a great price! The onion rings are the best I've had. The manager is so kind and very quick to make things right if there's any issue. Servers are kind and prompt.

Another great meal at Our local Tanners! Such a great strip steak done perfectly 👌. Paired it with their salad and I was a happy girl!

Tanner's is such a comfortable place to have a drink. And the food is really good. I've never had something that I wouldn't order again. The last I was in there I had the pleasure of having Svenlana as my bartender. She was very personable and easy to talk to. I would recommend this location especially, but all the Tanners to anyone.

Always good happy hour. Like the appetizers. Good beer selection. Lots of close parking. Excellent service. Recommend and will return.

I’ve been visiting Tanners for a long time and it’s one of my favorite bars in town. The atmosphere is amazing. The music is not too loud. And it’s a great bar for date nights. The staffs are friendly and amazing. The food is great and tasty. We like the nachos and the tacos.

Appetizers are good, chicken lips are very good. Burgers are forgettable. Staff is hit and miss, you might not have anybody checking on your drinks for a long time and food can take forever. Avoid Saturday evenings, they do some live DJ thing, it’s awful and waaayy too loud

Food was slow but manager stepped up and gave us the food for free! Love seeing Any business take ownership of issues. Food was good and we will be back.

One of my favorite bar restaurants in the KC Metro area. There are plenty of them to go around and they stay consistent in what they do best...good food.
