Room - Newly renovated with Le Meridien family design, bright and inviting. - Bathroom is clean and spacious. - Spectacular ocean facing room with sunset view. Breakfast - Decent buffet spread serving both local and western option. - Services are prompt.

The breakfast staff were superb- very attentive and helpful. The porters were also great. However, the service in general was not 5 star. Far from it. We arrived at 19:30 and we had paid for club lounge access. The check in took almost 30 minutes as the lady was trying to find a King room, which she said was 'not available' (I booked a king room direct) so we missed the included cocktails. I asked if she could deliver two complimentary cocktails to the room once we were finally offered a King room and the answer was, abruptly, 'no'. The shower doors don't close so the bathroom became a swimming pool each time we took a shower. At breakfast in the club lounge the only fruit on offer after requesting some was yellow watermelon. There was no mango, papaya or passion fruit available. Also, the fruit juice in the lounge was full of added sugar. There are some great staff here, particularly the excellent breakfast staff, but the welcome at reception was poor, bordering on rude, and, despite booking a premium room, there was no fruit/ flowers or anything except water in the room. We shall not be returning.

Stay here for 2 days. Request non smoking room but enter the room with cigarette smell. And they change the room after i complain. After that, some other issue happen. And the crew help to solve it. All i can say is the crew really work hard to solve the problems. I believe you can make it better. Will visit again after chinese new year. Hope to get a better experience.

It has been a while since my last visit to Sabah Le Méridien. Things have changed, yet the atmosphere in the hotel is familiar & romantic. I love their friendly staff! Service was very good. Excellent behaviour with delicious foods. Nice environment and awesome place. I will come here again and again. The most important thing is I'm impressed with their hospitality.

This hotel was a hidden gem in the heart of the city! My 8-day stay was overall very positive, though there were a few minor things to consider for future travelers. On the plus side: Cozy and comfortable: The environment was warm and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere. Spacious room: Having plenty of space to spread out was great, especially for a longer stay. Delicious pastries: The breakfast pastries were a real highlight, fresh and tasty. I highly recommend them! Central location: Being in the city center meant all the restaurants and shops were right at my doorstep. Friendly staff: The staff was helpful and accommodating, keeping the hotel running smoothly. A few things to note: Carpets: The carpets in the room were a bit dated and could have been cleaner. Repetitive breakfast (except noodles): While the pastries were amazing, the rest of the breakfast menu remained mostly the same throughout my stay. Some more variety would have been appreciated. Lobby odor: Due to its location near a wet market, the lobby sometimes had a bit of a smell. However, the staff made a good effort to manage this by keeping the doors closed whenever possible. Lift wait times: During peak hours, there could be a bit of a wait for the elevator. Despite these minor drawbacks, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would recommend it to others, especially those who prioritize a central location and appreciate cozy vibes. Just be prepared for a potentially repetitive breakfast and the occasional funky lobby aroma. Bonus tip: Check out the nearby restaurants and shops - you'll be spoilt for choice! I hope this review helps you decide if this hotel is the right fit for your next trip!

First of all, let me start off saying this. I definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling to Kota Kinabalu to stay with them (if it is within your budget). Greeted by the grand design of the lobby. First impression of the hotel upon entering was "Well I think this is gonna be a good stay". Greeted by bell boy who offered to helped carry my bags (I know its their job but having travelling to many countries, this rarely happens). Greeted by hotel's front desk officers who was smiley. As I was early for my check in, I was told that the room was not ready and suggested to come back at around 2pm. Now the best part comes. I went back to the hotel at around 1.15pm and to my surprise, the bell boy updated me upon helping to open the entrance door that he has delivered my bags up to my room and my room is ready. Went to the front desk counter, collection of room keys was quick. Room was spacious and clean with a fantastic sea view. Corridor was a little dim though. Had their breakfast the next day and there are seats available. Buffet for breakfast has a good spread of different cuisine. As our flights was in late evening, we stayed at the lobby's cafe, ordered their coffee and staff offered their own made cookies for free. It is definitely a joyable stay for me and my friends.

Convenient location. Check in breezy. Poolside was nice. Great poolside food and beverage service. One thing I didn’t like was you get occasional wafts of ‘fish market’ smell at the poolside and outside the lobby. What to do when the market is opposite. But great location and quality rooms nonetheless.

Home away from home. A very comfortable bed with nice linen and pillows. Great shower, cold fridge, lovely waterfront view from the room. Brilliant rooftop bar, friendly staff. Nice pool just a shame the pool bar is now closed. Excellent breakfast buffet. Would stay here again.

Hotel was phenomenal - soon as you check in you start to see how nice the hotel is right from the lobby. Staff instantly got the bags and check in was fast and friendly. Rooms are fantastic with amazing sea views, full amenities and nothing left to be desired. Club lounge offering and staff was some of the best we've seen in KL! Super friendly staff and fantastic views. Rooftop has amazing drinks and staff were just amazing!! Hotel overall is just doing a great job and was a good end to our Malaysian holiday. Cannot wait to come back!

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Great experience, spacious and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff and the hotel is located in the middle of city where we can just walk to restaurants and shopping Mall. Most important, seafood market is right opposite the hotel. Nice rooftop, can go up for great sunset view. We love our stay here. ♥️

Highly recommended place to stay, with local eatery just opposite this Hotel and easy access to shopping malls and attractions. Rooms were recently renovated, with bath tub and separate shower. If possible, get the sea-view rooms at higher floors. The view is beautiful. Air-con is strong, with large TV (LG). Gym and swimming pool is at level 2 (pool has a shade that blocks our sun, so water can be too cold for some).

Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu was a luxurious and comfortable place to spend the new year. The lobby was decked out in festive decorations & the hotel is conveniently located next to the market, making it easy to explore the area. Our room was comfortable and the wall decor added a touch of elegance. The highlight of our stay was definitely the food - it was delicious, with a good lunch and an especially impressive big breakfast variety. Also, we were able to see the new year fireworks from our room. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu and would highly recommend it.

This hotel is hands down my favorite in the Kota Kinabalu! Let me tell you why: The rooms are the best, offering a delightful combination of cleanliness and comfort that surpasses all others. The food here is simply divine! Every dish is a culinary masterpiece that will leave you speechless. The flavors are so rich and delectable, it's like a taste of heaven. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional hospitality. Every single staff member goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home. Their friendliness is genuine and makes your stay even more enjoyable. I can confidently say that this hotel has it all - the best rooms, the most heavenly food, and an unparalleled level of hospitality. It's an experience you don't want to miss!

Great location & 5 star service. We stayed here as our launch point for island hopping, Mt. Kinabalu trekking, etc. and it was a nice, modern, and affordable hotel to stay at. The bar at the top has the BEST viewing for sunset there is. Great cocktails too. Very good breakfast in the morning - worthwhile for your stay. We were most impressed with the customer focus. You feel well taken care of from the get go when you arrive. When we had an issue getting into our room due to a door battery dying, the manager personally paid us a visit and escorted us up to the lounge where we had cookies, drinks, and samosas on the house while we waited for a resolution (which came quick). That's true customer service. Very impressed with this Le Meridien and would recommend to anyone going to KK.

We had a pleasant stay in this hotel. Everything is perfect. Room is clean and spacious. The eateries and restaurants are reachable by walking. You can get a Grab easily as well. Free parking for room guests and 1 complimentary espresso/cappuccino per stay. Their rooftop bar is one of the best sunset viewing points in KK.

The room is fantastic. Plus, it's very spacious compared to many other hotels. This review isn't a complete one because I stayed for only a night (check in 11 pm, wake up, breakfast, and checkout), and my best experience was purely from a good night sleep. But overall, from a limited duration, I didn't see anything much of constructive feedback needed.

The staff was so nice from entering to leaving the hotel. The check-in was so so easy and fast. The staff always greet you whenever they see you. The room is nice, big, and clean, and they do daily housekeeping, too! And the food! I enjoyed the food so much. The location is also convenient - in front of the night market, within walking distance from the malls, lots of restaurants to eat from outside if you prefer not to eat in the hotel, great rooftop view of the sea and islands as well. I highly recommend this hotel!

Spacious room. Amazing view from sea view room and the club lounge. Elite member recognition is okay ( upgraded from city view to sea view). Breakfast spread is good. Will definitely come back. Location is prime. Crew is very helpful.

There is a taxi booth inside the airport to get a ticket for the 15 minute drive to the hotel. In front of the hotel is a night market where you can pick your own seafood and they will cook it for you. You can also get soft drinks and vegetable dishes. In the hotel there is a swimming pool bar which also serves food. In the evening there is a rooftop bar. The breakfast was fantastic.

TL;DR: Teased by lounge staff for my English accent, poor service, stay away from this property [Major Issue - Discrimination & Unfriendly Staff] The female lounge staff mocked my English accent, and gave me the room key able to open other guest's room. The interaction with staff at the lounge in the afternoon on 17 June would be the most disappointed and difficult 30 minutes in my stay in Bonvoy. 1. Got questioned about our eligibility to access the lounge due to the hotel’s communication mistake 2. The female lounge staff mocked and teased our English accent in front of us 3. We got wrong key to open a wrong room (1231) occupied by other guests without knowing anything. Why should guests pay a hotel and experience these humiliation? [Service Problem] 1. We are informed at the front desk that the Gym opens 24/7, but every day we were asked to leave at 23:00. Moreover, we couldn’t find any facility introduction on paper in the room. 2. During the happy hour on Thursday, we asked the staff in lounge to fix the clopped toilet and send two towels, but nothing is solved after we return 4 hours later. 3. The bathrobe and cutlery are only renewed by chance, instead of every day, so it’s awkward when we realize they are not available to use in the room.

I went to use the spa for a deep cleansing facial. The hotel is well located and spa is nice. The staff was very nice and friendly. My problem is with the facial, it was just applying and removing different things with no extraction or any sort of peels. For 232 Ringit I could definitely wash my face thousands of times outside. Again just to be sure, the problem is the facial itself and not the staff and that’s why 2 stars. Sorely disappointed!

Hotel was well maintained and in pristine condition. Room was spacious clean with an amazing view of the sea, sunset was. Staff were professional, well groomed, polite and helpful, from the moment we entered to leaving. Despite staying only a night (though wishing it would be longer) couldn’t be happier with our stay!

Best for rest & relax. Room were spacious. Service are tiptop. Breakfast were okay. Tips: 1) Download Marriot apps and become their member to got insider deals. 2)If you driving to the hotel & want to go out. Just go to concierge counter to validate your parking ticket. Can do it many times before you check out. If you lazy, grab is everywhere there 🤭

Location cannot be anywhere better if you are there for a relax city holiday. Stunning view to the sea. Breakfast was nice, quite repetitive, but nice. Room space perfect, air condition was good. Pillow too soft. Bed spring pocket type can feel it. Bathroom 😣… water pressure poor, hot and cold water very challenging to balance… shower head not working properly. Tiles super slippery type, be careful… vanity 😣small, choice of basin can be better. Not the expected Marriot group type of hotel.

Great experience at Le Meridian Kota Kinabalu. The room is very spacious and clean. Great rooftop bar with awesome love music. Don't forget the best view for sunset in Kota Kinabalu!

  • 1/5 Gavin L. 6 months ago on Google
Don't come as there are better options which I regret so much now. Go to the new Hyatt Centric or Marriot for similar price, or Luma for half the price. Location is good which is probably the only good thing about this hotel but taxi are cheap anw. Am having the same bad experience as other previous comments - carpet are filthy in the room, water pressure is very poor which is why they don't fit a bathtub despite the room is huge, window is dirty, the facilities were old, there wasn't even a cable machine in the gym. Don't expect anything will improve unless they dismantled the whole building. They have renovated the hotel in 2019 and already desperately need another total renovation. I still have 1 more night in this hotel and I wish to end this stay asap

Centre of KK and just in front of main attraction of KK, pasar filipine. But most of the time, the main road in front of the hotel is stuck with jam. The room is so spacious and luxurious. The scenery is also great during sunrise and sunset. Room equipment and toiletries are compand sufficient.

  • 4/5 Huda 6 months ago on Google
The location is so strategic. U can smell the freshness of seawater from the lobby. It is really at the center of the business of markets in KK. All are reached by walking from this hospital. If u r lucky, u can get a room that is facing the right to the waterfront and see the magnificent sunset. The choice of buffet ( breakfast and dinner), however, is very less compared to Le Meredian elsewhere. The lobby is wheelchair friendly and the room is also spacious.

Room and bathroom are immaculately clean. Everyone from doorman to concierge to housekeeping are very friendly. Sunset from the poolside is beautiful! Location is perfect! Market for fresh seafood, souvenirs, salted fish are all across the road. Small department store near by.

Had my wedding dinner reception here and stayed a couple of nights as well. From start to end every hotel staff that we've encountered have been extremely helpful and friendly and it's been really refreshing to experience this high level of consistently good service. I would like to give a shout out to Shuwen who has been incredibly helpful with organising our wedding venue and all of our special requests. Will definitely come and stay again when I'm back in KK.

I attended a training course there. Staffs are polite and they don't avoid guests but embrace them with politeness. F&B receptionist was also sweet and warm welcoming guests to dine.

  • 5/5 Theodore C. 10 months ago on Google
Spacious rooms, good service and decent food at a reasonable price point. There are many decent 5-star hotels in the area but perhaps the highlight here would be watching sunset at the rooftop bar as the sea view and direction is perfect. Stayed in a sea view room and an area for improvement would be to clean the windows as the exterior was quite dirty and hindered the viewing experience.

Love the environment, location and services. You should try the chicken menu served here by chef Mizan (super delicious). Variety Breakfast buffet served in the hotel ( they served duck tau, lain maciam betul). Overal experience 9/10. Except for the water pressure (quite low).

If you are planning to buka puasa. This is the place. 1st time tried the buffet are not so nice and many food kind of tasteless but the 2nd time tried, it was fantastic. Try the Rendang Tok, Peking Duck, Satay, Soup Gearbox, Roast Lamb, Briyani, and the dessert is the best. The staff are very friendly and very alert. We went there with an infant and seated behind the speaker, they reduce the volume once we seated there. Keep it up.

The hotel and its facilities was fantastic but the service rendered by the front desk staff was rather disappointing. Not very helpful (we wanted to talk to reservation staff due to some matter but rather slow in helping us) and impolite (did not handed back our ID nicely and seem insincere) during the check in process. Other Marriott property (eg Marriott Mulu) has been very helpful and nice throughout our stay. If not because of this important aspect of customer service especially in hospitality industry, I'll definitely give 5 star.

I dream of staying here since the hotel start operation but cant afford it. Lucky during feb 2022, hotel got promotion. Like a dream came thru. Well maintained. Staff is frendly. The food is ohsem plenty of choices for everybody. Location is perfect. I used the swimming pool, suana n gym. They were maintained and the water in the pool is so clean n clear. I stay in the city view room but facing the side view and can still enjoy the partial view of the sea The only thing i dont like is the smell from the nearest wet market that spoiled the luxury feeling. Overall 5 star. Will come again

Booked a sea view king Room- spacious, comfy, able to watch sunset, it was my birthday and the staff decorated the room with a cake, sufficient room amenities, clean. Service - friendly staff, always open door welcome us and greet us. Fast check in and check out Accessibility - realize the safety box wasn’t functioning, called the concierge at 10pm , technician came immediately after that and fixed for us

Everything is great here! Love the hotel cleanliness and convenience surrounding the hotel. Room service food is great too! Too bad we came during Ramadan month hence room service is always delayed due to buka puasa. Ordered at 630pm, receive food by 830pm. Hungry die me.

We did not stay here, simply visited for it's rooftop bar and cocktails. The view is quite good & the cocktails are different to the standard ones you get in every other bar. The where even served in a unique Sabah style. Over all it was relaxing and enjoyable.

The deluxe room we were staying in was spacious and comfortable, with a picturesque view of the sea overlooking my window. The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to the main landmarks. Buffet breakfast, especially the nasi lemak, was superb too. Duty managers Ricky and Malcolm also made our stay welcoming with their attentive and helpful gestures.

Special thanks to the hotel management & receptionists who served us with great hospitality. All of the staffs treated us nicely. Besides of letting us to check in early and check out late, to our surprise the hotel management upgraded our bedroom from king size bed to double queen beds+extra bed without any extra charges[憨笑] tq very much. And the receptionist Mr Ng, swimming pool staffs, as well as the restaurant staffs helped us so much and even offered to take pictures for us [耶] They provided everything for us even without upon request. [耶][强] will definitely come back. We do come back each year for the ramadhan buffet.

+ PRO - Nice & clean room. - Comfortable bed. - Huge & clean modern toilet facilities. - Huge room size & well layout. - Nice breakfast but selection could be better. - Fast check in & out. - Polite front desk & door man. - Amenities within walking distance. - Nice pool but didn't get time to use it. - Nice Seaview room. - Huge lobby. - Ample car parking. - CONS - Room rate consider expensive in this area. Basically, this hotel is extremely suitable for business travellers. They have nice lobby & professional staff. A great place to talk business. Opposite the hotel(30m) across the street you have Bazaar market that sell many dried food or product from Philippines. Walking distance to a big mall within 100m away with quite a fair bit of eateries & restaurant. Nearby alot of retail shop close probably due to COVID period. Overall, it's a nice hotel if you don't mind paying for it. What you pay is what you get(probably).

My first experience at Le Meredien, the sea view room has an amazing view. The hospitality from the cleaning staff to kitchen staff is beyond what I have experienced before at other hotels. The distance to the market is soo near. You can go and buy souvenir just 3 minutes walking to the hotel.

My first stay here for work. My colleagues and I were each upgraded to the sea view rooms with two king-sized beds. The room appears newly renovated. Clean, brightly lit and looks stunning when you first step foot into it. Overall, the hotel looks modern and stylish. Best of all, it is within walking distance to all the local shopping/dining areas.

Highly recommended as a Platinum Elite tier. They always try their best to give you the best room possible which is a huge bonus. I didn’t know this until I went to visit my friend’s suite but some of rooms have a balcony, so book that option if it’s important to you. the club lounge has a gorgeous view and great food selection

We spent 3 nights here. The weather was not great but we had an amazing view of the harbour from our large window. The breakfast had a huge variety of food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a late check out and could use the pool area until the early evening before our flight.

All te staff's are very polite n helpful even when we just arrived at the entrance. 5☆ Went there for meet n greets at the cafe area with few friends. Again the staff are very nice.. I've ordered a juice but maybe they didn't noticed too but there's a few "fruit fly" Inside the drinks. Not really a big deal for me to overreact just maybe rechecks the fruit before using it. Overall the place n staff are great. We're all having our best time there.
