Good part: 1. The floor was carpeted and it was really comfortable to walk on. 2. The mattress and the pillows were really soft and comfy. 3. They provided a bathtub and separate partition of glass door for shower and also bathrobes with slippers. 4. The breakfast was delicious although lacking in variety. 5. The staffs were hospitable. Bad part 1. They did not offer porter service although they had the service with the station at the lobby, we were apparently required to request for them. This is the first time I’ve heard of anything like it. So if we don’t, and no one does, why should there even be one? 2. They kept calling our room phone unnecessarily and it even rings in the toilet. We did not want to be disturbed, we’ve already set it at the door and we were taking a nap, tired from travelling. 3. The door wasn’t soundproof. We could here people talking, walking and even opening and closing their room doors. 4. The room service was expensive. Undoubtedly they would be but they shouldn’t they live up to their standards too? Although they’ve informed us that the food would arrive in 45 minutes, we had high hopes that they’d be really good. But the lamb meat portion was small and hard with only the bony parts served, also the mango tangy was diluted .

A lonely accountant in this shack's headquarters played a very practical joke on customers by advertising this as a 'five-star' 'hotel'. Could not disagree more. My room (6th Floor) sported a disgusting carpet, damp sheets on the bed, creaky old chairs and, to top it off, leaky ceilings - see attached pictures. The main door would not close on day 1, the safe did not work, the breakfast buffet in the main restaurant was - please just see my review of Cafe Boleh. However. With a mindset of "I'm a western visitor at a conference and the room was paid for" I waited three nights before finally requesting a new room. That's really on me - the second room on floor 8 was loud, but at least had seen a lucklustre renovation. Please, do yourself a real favor and consider reviews of this place that note similar basic flaws, not the rote "we had a nice vacation" ones. This is a terribly run hotel, and management a huge discredit to the friendly, but helpless staff. I've stayed at my share of places shabby to chic, but the disconnect here between self-representation and reality, between splendid sunsets and quite possibly unhealthy, but certainly unhygienic interiors is not okay. If you do need to spend 100 bucks or so in Kota Kinabalu tonight, better just burn it.

They opened for a month and will close again by July 2022. After Pacific is closed, Magellen will open. The room I had was renovated and clean. Everything in the room was working. As far as I know all facilities were opened. Buffet breakfast was more than adequate although I noted an absence of cereal.

The room did not give me a wow impression and the cleanliness can be better. Counter staffs are friendly and courteous. Have a very relaxing beach and room view (seaview room). The down side is not all the room have a balcony.

I was attended by receptionist Diana upon the check-in. I felt devalued as guests, the moment she told me i booked hot deals through Agoda and those deals are for those who cannot afford the actual amount! What is the reason to even mentioned it that way? There was miscommunication during check in because all of the sudden, i am not entitle for any of the complimentary promotions. I wont be mind about that if the receptionist did not devalued me. 2 weeks before the trip, i called to ask about the promotion on socmed regarding family packages. The receptionist who attended my called told me i am entitled for the promotion and complimentary. Requested for my daughter birthday room decorations as well. Upon the check in i was told an extra charge will be imposed. I told them i dont mind paying. But excuses was informed that they havent prepare my request. Please be mindful,i have babies that time. Prolong waiting can be hassle. My note for the receptionist. Please done lookdown on your guests based on your perspective of promotional period. Attend everyone equally and stop with this mentality approach. I will definitely have a second thought to go here anymore. Staff devalued guest by hot deals/ promotion booking? That is next level.

The service in this hotel is very, very poor and not worthy of five stars at all. We stayed here for two days and encountered a lot of problems. When I checked in on the first night, I was given room 728. There were dried blood stains on the sheets, which was disgusting. The bathtub had not been cleaned and there were many stains on the bottom. We asked them to solve it, and they changed us to a room, but the new room No. 940 was probably not occupied for a long time. There was a musty smell when we opened the door and the bathtub was still dirty. But because we had to get up early the next day and it was very late that night, we didn't ask to change rooms. After checking in, I found that the bedside table lamp was broken, there was no comb provided, and there was only one bath towel. The next night we played outside until after nine o'clock and didn't come back. There was a power outage in the hotel room around ten o'clock in the evening. We went to the front desk to ask, and they replied that there was a power outage in the whole city. There was nothing they could do. We immediately asked the nearby Shangri-La Hotel. Friends who live there, they said they didn't have a power outage. We lived on the top floor. After the power outage, the room smelled musty and could not be ventilated. It was also very hot and there were many mosquitoes. We went to the hotel front desk to solve the problem and they refused and said they would give us a satisfactory answer the next day. But when we checked out at noon the next day, they had nothing to say. He just said he could take us to the airport. Very speechless about this result. A very bad hotel experience. It is not up to the standard of a five-star hotel. It is very shabby, old and backward. The price is around 1,000. I suggest you avoid it!

I lost my cash due to I didn’t keep my money properly, and leave in my handbag (unzipped) on top of my open luggage. I have alarmed my room with the sign “Do not disturb”. Too bad when I back from company event (the island), the bedsheet has been clean and I quickly count my cash, it was lost about RM 200. I know how much I spent throughout the day as mostly I only use card. Management told me the cleaning staff has been working for 17 years and don’t have any history or complaint before, which she couldn’t answer me why they came for cleaning with the sign “DnD” is On ? Hotel location is good but the cleanliness is so so which I back hotel sleep, I will have a stuffy nose and when after leave hotel room, my nose is back to normal, perhaps is dusty. If we not so trust this hotel with good review and professionalism, we will keep the cash with us, perhaps we won’t lost it. After I reported my lost, the customer service called back without solution, only sorry and keep talking on phone to divert my attention by telling what is inside my room. When I mentioned to check CCTV to reflect my room is under the sign of “Do not disturb”, they are unable to answer me. I think the staff know we have huge company event (about 500 staffs) to island as we are using their boat service to depart to island, they plenty of time to work it out.

All well and good until the music starts on the top floor. From 6pm to midnight you feel like you're at a concert. If you want to go to sleep early, ask for a room at the other end of the hotel.

The only 5-star thing was a beautiful view from the hotel. Breakfast lacked diversity. On Christmas Eve breakfast, there were so many people that we barely found a seat, and most of the food was already gone. The lobby was depressingly dark and the room toilet flush was terrible so we had to go to the lobby toilet. I am still not sure why this place is a 5-star hotel. I'd rather pay slightly more to stay at other real 5-star hotels.

Beautiful hotel with a view of the sea to match. Located in an enclave only 10 mins away from the airport, you are shielded from the bustling city. The swimming pool is right next to a private beach (can't swim there) to enjoy the view of the open sea. The Sutera Habour Marina next to it is a great place to take an evening walk, and catch a sight of a family of ducks living there.

Went over for their high tea at The Horizons Rooftop restaurant. The high tea was not great but the views from the restaurant was incredible with the gorgeous sunset. The hotel itself is clean and nice, appeared to be a tad deserted with very few guests staying. But I think its worth coming for a stay just to get the great views of the sea and sunsets.

We had our company's annual dinner here. Room was great with bathtub. But the food can be better. Their potato soup taste like thick texture water without flavour (;_;). Desserts are good anyway. Not too bad.

Beautiful and Luxury Resort Hotel Strategic location close to Sutera Harbor. Place for boats and yachts to dock so you can get to the islands easily. The rooms are spacious and clean. The sea view from the room is amazing. Staff friendly. Hotel has a private beach and a pleasant swimming pool The taste of food in the restaurant "Cafe Boleh" at breakfast and dinner is delicious and varied. But they couldn't anticipate the surge of guests at breakfast time so they had to queue long to get a table. Very funny

A Great place to spend your holiday with your loved ones!!! The room was superb, very clean and most importantly, functional and immaculately decorated. The beach scenery was so beautiful esp. During sunset. Gonna miss that. However, breakfast time was not so cool because the restaurant was so crowded. There was a long queue and the staffs were so busy looking for empty seats.Unfortunately, some of the guests (including me and family) were a bit rush while enjoying their breakfast bec. Of this.

stayed in two rooms- first in the 9th floor then on a lower floor on different visits. i have to say 1. reminds me of a hotel from the 70s with its own charm 2. the check in counter is a chronically understaffed and there are no orderly queues - so expect someone to cut in all the time - the problem such behaviour is tolerated 3. calling concierge is equally frustrating so seems the whole place poorly staffed 4. breakfast is chaos 5. the rooms are good though the first room i stayed in had poor hot water and the towels hadnt been dried well 6. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE WIFI- absolutely useless both times so if zoom/teams meetings are due- u will need to tap on the data plan

Great location hotel with great privacy, though full of tourists. Good accessibility to airport and nearest big shopping mall. Private seaside and lifestyle/resort living. Breakfast selection is great, staff are efficient in arranging the seatings and turn over of the tables despite long queue. Overall great experience from checkin, breakfast, island hopping activities.

The sound proof is somehow below standard you expect from a 5 stars hotel. U can hear the sound from above floor if kids staying above floor and the worst part is the bathroom. U can hear it quite clear from next room. Other than that is good

Not much to share because late check-in around 5 am but reception was very helpful. Room very clean, nice view, breakfast was good. Scenery of sea was so nice

  • 2/5 Yvonne L. 6 months ago on Google
The rooms are okay though we'd to ask housekeeping to come and change our sheets even before we laid on them as there were disgusting stains. The service is definitely not of what I've experienced with other 5 star hotels. Staff are rather inexperienced. It took 25 minutes to check us in as the staff wasn't able to find our details and despite being informed that the room has been paid for, she kept insisting we still need to pay. Only after close to 20 mins of looking through then she realised that indeed payment has already been fully settled. It also seems that the hotel does not support local food businesses. They have a strict policy of not allowing food delivery to their premises. I was told that I will need to walk out to the guardhouse or call a grab car to pick me to send me to the guardhouse to pick up any food delivery. On our check out day, the concierge person at the counter was also extremely unfriendly. I am surprised as this is a 5 star hotel which I would have expected hospitality at its best. A pity, as I doubt I would return here despite the nice ambiance and it would be a nice place for a family holiday for parents who golf whilst children enjoy the pool.

Seaview is great, entertainment facilities are decent. Breakfast choices and qualities are very poor. Check-in took very long time. And there are many group guests so overall it’s very noisy. Most importantly, staff are rude, that’s not a correct way of being a “five stars” hotel.

  • 1/5 Yama Y. 7 months ago on Google
Be aware of their T&C when booking your rooms, unfortunately I fell in a T&C trap and what I encountered was rudeness and discrimination. Finally I was surcharged extra USD210, which was 40% more than I’ve paid originally. After checking other 1 star reviews, I found I was not the only one facing the T&C, rudeness, and discrimination problem.

Good location but bad concierge service. For checking in, I needed to talk concierge man(maybe manager) too long time. He just gave me very inconveinent room, even if there are enough rooms. Lovely port side ,but man in charge of ruins the beautiful scenery.

Service very bad & slow You call them day and night, but its difficult to get them. At 9pm, you wil straight go to an answering machine. My tv was not working and after two days they stil cant solve it, no one came at first day to fix it. We have to go down to the reception counter! My suite also very rundown..it looks gloomy and scarry. Old furnishings. They only renovated the standard rooms The receptionists during check in also very unprofessional and you can see their faces are not sincere and sort of rude. I understand you dont like the tourists from China, but dont spill out to non- Chinese tourists too!! Very disappointing. If this goes on, this hotel wil definitely be an abandoned hotel one day. No one wil ever repeat their stay here.

Stayed here few months before, it was excellent. Hence this time I bring 17 friends with me to visit this beautiful city and told my friends must stay at this very nice hotel. We booked about 2; months ago through our Sabah agent. When we checked in yesterday (12-1-2024)I was very very disappointed with the front line staff, Vi.... 's product knowledge and service quality, she really only has 2 stars hotel's service standard , hotel short of one twin bed for gold view which we requested during our booking, she don't even know to move this room to seaview to settle our situation until I need to teach her. How you think I will stay again for my next visit..

Well I'm not reviewing the actual Pacific Sutera Hotel but I was at their venue located at the basement. Some of y'all oldies but goodies may remember it as their public outlet called KK's or later known as JUGS. Today it's been turned to a vaccination facility. Good thing about this center is that it only caters for a small crowd. So if you happened to get appointments here you can expect the hotel to offer you food for sale from their take-away kiosk located near the entrance of the vaccination centre. Parking available though it may be just off from their front door! You know lahhhhh everybody ALWAYS wants the parking right in front! And it is available if you're lucky.

This hotel is still advertised on Agoda but it is actually closed and no longer open to public. I went to the hotel for check in but i was told all reservation here will be transferred to The Magellan Sutera. This information was never mentioned in my booking through Agoda. It doesnt matter if they call the change of hotel to Magellan is an upgrade because in my case I dont want that for of my bad experience staying at the Magellan previously, at least the hotel should inform earlier so that i can directly go to the right hotel.

It doesn't look like it's officially open I have to ask them to do it every day because the air bounce is not running on time. If I ask the reason, they're not there Because it's windy I stayed at the Pacific Swimming Pool for four nights in Magellan, but if this is the case, it would be better not to open it. I'm going to stay in Pacific in a few days, but I already don't want to go thinking about the annoying pool staff. When I asked for a towel replacement, there were no people, but people kept asking me to change it, so I said I would only do it this time, and there were three towels in one room. There are too many ants in the pool. The pool bar doesn't work either, so it comes out as a lunch box.

Hello. We stayed here November 2022 for 2 nights. Review is as follows; Pros: Location - central and close to airport, beachfront. Cleanliness - immaculate Hot Water - yes Internet/Wifi - yes Food - great breakfast Water provided - yes Air Conditioning - yes Service/Friendliness - reception staff great, upgraded us which was lovely. Gym - two gyms to choose from, all the weights you could need and good treadmills for running. The gym at the country club has good air conditioning. Other - country club is great; gym, bowling, movies, pool, badminton, table tennis and more pools. Roof top bar is very cool - great music. Cons: Location - can swim at beach but there are Jelly Fish. Food - dinner menu isn’t good. We ordered room service one night and 1 out of 2 meals was forgotten. My partner ordered a milo but was given coffee. Service/Friendliness - dinner staff at the restaurant aren’t friendly. We left before ordering. Overall experience: the verdict is we would stay here again. Grounds are beautiful, rooms are beautiful and facilities are great. We really enjoyed our stay here, the only thing that would make it enhanced is better dinner food and staff.

Went there recently with my family. The bed, toilet, other facilities was good in quality,no complains at all. But becarefull when going for water activities in the resort, i wore tight shorts and a tight shirt while i was there, while some male staffs were staring at me nonstop, it felt uncomfortable and made me cancel the water activity that i was suppose to go and have fun. (Pacific Sutera Habour, please do something with your staff)

Rooms are alright. In house meals higher than average in KK, I had Hokkien Mee it was delicious. Exterior and lobby is seriously run down, chrck in counter feels like a 3 star hotel compared to the sister Magellan. However, the room is superb, the Pacific Floor rooms are modern and well taken care off, unsure about the rest. Breakfast and Lunch buffet extensive and nice, good coffee, never missed a shot.
