This review is on the Jordan House Tavern only. Hotel isn’t involved in this review. Great staff and great location. AWFUL MANAGER! Ashley the manager of Jordan House Tavern has zero communication ability’s. Her attitude and mannerisms were Obnoxious and rude. Her demeanour was uncalled for especially when I was simply trying to help an issue that they have at that tavern. Jordan house was a great place to go, now you’re expected to sit in silence completely by yourself while you wait for food or drinks. You’d enjoy to watch paint dry to help pass the time!

We used to stop here once in a while due to the location being convenient but now we definitely come back for the food! I’m not sure if it was just a menu change or kitchen staff but the food has improved significantly! The patio was expanded and looks great as well. Service is friendly and quick!

Went there for dinner did not stay there. Decent selection of food on the menu. Staff member was funny and courteous. Food was decent for the price. There is an outdoor patio as well as indoor dining area. I have been there 4 times this summer so I guess that speaks for itself.

The hotel is very classy and looks clean. Staff are young and provide good service. However, I did get multiple bed bug bites, looks can be deceiving.... Flat rock winery is the best, excellent white wine.

Showed up with a group of people a few Friday nights ago. The restaurant was entertaining a table of people still, however told us they were closed, and wouldn't provide any service. It's too bad because we had 12 people with us, spending a lot of money. I won't go back now, just due to that experience. All local people as well, people who have also supported this place over the years 🤷‍♀️ Not welcome while they served up a table of people inside... ah well, I guess our past and future business isn't of their concern.

I recently had dinner at the Jordan House, I have not been for food since March of 2021. I was extremely disappointed, I ordered a pizza and some wings. To say the wings were terrible would be an under statement, they also came with no blue cheese. The meatza pizza was just ok. Our server was pleasant but was not efficient. All in all if this is the current state of food and service at this establishment I will probably not return. Since they are local I will give them another try but my expectations are very low. I usually try and find a bright spot, but I truly cannot find one. My beer was cold I guess.

Stopped in on a whim, looked nice with a nice patio. Staff were great and the food was amazing! Highly recommend the fish tacos. Thank you to the staff for a great experience

The food is always terrific and a great atmosphere, however the service has not been wonderful the last couple times we have been. They have been busy with only a few staff members working the tables. Still a terrific stop!

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Very simple and casual but nice. We will definitely stay at the Jordan House again. Tavern food is ok. We had the steak frites and the fish and chips. Steak was difficult to eat as it had tendons running through it so most of it stayed on the plate. Fish was cooked perfectly. Fries were under done and still a bit raw in the center. Beer selection was good. Local wine on offer, of course. Prices are good for the area. Probably won't return to the Tavern.

Spent 2 nights at the Jordan House in the Traditional Queen Room and the room was actually quiet large. The rooms are defiantly outdated and need some upgrades but, if your just looking for somewhere to sleep and not picky about esthetic's this is the perfect place to stay. We stayed here for a family members wedding & we enjoyed our stay. The town of Jordan itself is defiantly not meant for younger crowed of people because everything closes at 5:00PM except for a couple places. The restaurant attached to the tavern is really good too. There was live music on Friday night and we ordered wings and fries on Saturday night and the food was really good, staff was friendly, & the drinks were great. Overall, the room was great, clean, and the cleaning staff was very friendly and asked us if we needed anything, which I thought was great customer service. We really enjoyed our stay at the Jordan House.

Restaurant Review - Have been here many times and it's usually really good. We both ordered the fish and chips and it came out in less than 5 minutes. The food was dropped off without any cutlery or condiments. The fries were raw and the batter on the fish was raw and floury. It was gross. You can't make a fish and chips in 5 minutes. The place was busy and we would have been happy to wait for the food instead of it obviously being rushed out. The server was very flippant and short. I understand it's busy but the food was obviously rushed and the server didn't seem to care. No manager or server made any effort to rectify the experience. It was a ridiculous experience. This place seems to be going downhill.

I was a regular at the Jordan House Tavern until 2 weeks ago. I got badly ill a few hours after my meal of mushroom soup and salad/hand held pesto cheese. I contacted restaurant mgr with little satisfaction. I was advised I would receive gift card which is yet to appear. Advised mgr that gift card did not arrive. She assured me she mailed it! Have my doubts! She doesn’t take ownership!

Had dinner tonight best mussels I've had for a long time and my wife said she would come back just to get the fish tacos. Everything was excellent a 10 for sure.

I forgot to take a pic of the food but we had the Buffalo cob salad and sesame battered mushrooms and both were great. Nice little stop on a scenic drive.

Food is really good with generous portions. (3 fish tacos compared to 2 at other pubs) friendly staff. Recommended if you're in the area.

The menu was uninspiring so I ordered pizza, my gf got a quesadilla and we shared deep fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were runny when you bit into them. It was kind of gross having mushroom juice spill out. I honestly think the quesadillas I made as a teenager were better. My pizza was fine, the middle of the pizza crust was soggy but the flavours were good. Our poor server was given the entire patio which filled up as we were eating. Getting the bill took ages and we left the pizza behind because the box we asked for never arrived. I can't blame the server for being in the weeds, some managerial guy came out but didn't really help, just looked at how busy things were. I would suggest the one of zillion other options you have in the area.

Cute little tavern. Food was good and portions were generous. I ordered Beef on a Bun but it arrived as a Beef Dip. It was delicious but didn't match the item on the menu. Prices are fair as well.

I stayed here for one night and was incredibly impressed with my room. For the price paid, I would not expect one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in, a luxury bathtub, soft bathrobes and Keurig machine. The room comes with a book explaining the lodge features and local attractions - it starts with saying they take pride in the little things and that certainly was my impression. Thank you for the great stay! The only negative thing was that check in was at a different hotel down the road - which is an added trip if you use this as a rest stop while hiking. It would also be nice to learn about the hotels features (like available spa products at the hotel where you check in) prior to going to the room so you don’t have to take an extra trip. I would give 3.5 of 5 to the tavern itself. It’s food was just okay but the atmosphere was nice, beer cold and service pleasant.

We've been here a few times and I love their fish and chips. Decent place to dine, more rustic than elegant but comfortable. We've eaten here and done takeout both of which were very good

Tavern review - went here for a late lunch. I recently moved to the area, so I will soon occupy the category of local. It's obvious that this is a local favourite in the offseason. Out of all the people dining here, I think all but one group were locals. Staff obviously know their patrons. It has a great atmosphere (although it can be a little loud do to the acoustics, having a mezzanine floor). Guests at tables across from the bar, a group of young people shooting pool upstairs, a great place. I ordered the chicken fingers and subbed my fries for sweet potato fries. Best decision ever! I have never had such perfect sweet potato fries. They were adequately salted, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly cooked overall. Looking forward to ordering a cocktail and fish and chips the next time I'm here. I'm sure I'll be back!

Good food. Friendly small town atmosphere.

It was the most depressing room I have stayed in, in years. The walls were black, dark gray and navy blue. The carpet was dark blue, as was the cheap looking furniture. Two small windows created a dark and depressing feel. And we had a premium room! We have stayed at the Inn on the Twenty dozens of times over the past 25 years. This sister property is a very poor relative. The room was clean. Will never stay here again.

We did not use the hotel portion, only the Tavern. Was with a couple of friends at the end of a Motorcycle ride. Had heard good things about the restaurant and gave it a try for late lunch. It did not dissapoint. The Ruben Sanwich was great, the fresh cut fries the same. Our server Ashley had recommended both along with my beverage. Service was exceptional, both friendly and engaging. Thank you Ashley, we will be back.

Nice place to stay. We were here because of a wedding and it's a much cheaper option than Inn on the twenty. I would say that the live music on Friday night was loud and we could hear it quite easily but we were in a room close to the tavern.

My family and I have been to Jordan House Tavern many times over the years (drove from 40 minutes away to go eat). It was always busy and the food was amazing. Decided to go back for the first time since 2019 and we definitely won't be going back. Quiet and depressing inside, new menu isn't anything special and the food was disgusting. Prices are more expensive than Kelseys or Montana's and the food quality is worse. We were shocked and sad at how downhill this place has gone. Do not recommend and if you are a tourist- there are many other better restaurants in the area.

We had a great time. Being in the vineyards was wonderful! Great wine, but great beer too at The Bench Brewery. We had a great time hiking on the Bruce Trail and shopping in the town. The Museum was such a gem! Perfect place for a little getaway!!

Great menu and very good food! Ashleigh is an absolute rock star! Let her help with the appetizers and mains, then let her pair it with the local breweries that are on tap. We loved the fresh cut fries and Mac & Cheese bites…pizza freshly made in house. Whatever you order you will not be disappointed!

We had dinner here the night before our wedding and some of the bridal party/guests stayed overnight. The food at the pub was good with large portions and fair prices for the area. The rooms left little to be desired, which is fine if you just need somewhere to sleep, but wasn't the greatest for getting ready photos. The rooms were extremely dark, the beds quite small, the room was hot and everyone was just generally uncomfortable. The worst part was the town construction surrounding the hotel. The groom was woken at 7am on our wedding day with jackhammering directly below the room window. The wedding was on a Friday so we thought at least our guests won't be bothered the following morning. Unfortunately they started at 7am on Saturday as well. My parents and the bridal party were all affected by the jackhammering that shook the building. We also wish upon booking the rooms the guests would have been told that they need to check in at Inn on the Twenty. Would have saved everyone a lot of time and back and forth. It just didn't have even a little of the Vintage Hotels feel to it. For $100 more staying at Inn on the Twenty would be preferable.

Cute and charming. Excellent dining experience from server Taylor in the Tavern. She was incredibly personable and kind and made us feel very welcome. The food was tasty and the live music was great. :) Room was a bit dark but it was very cozy.

Stayed here for a trip and it included a food voucher for the tavern. Any entree on the menu (anything on the menu) and I was absolutely expecting just average pub far. This place blew me away. Burger had these sweet caramelized onions and a perfectly charred bun. Steak frites was on point and well seasoned. Fries were excellent as well. They even had a special treat for a special occasion we were celebrating. Servers are friendly and attentive. Can't ask for more! They have live music on Fridays as well. Definitely make a detour for this place if you're on the way to Niagara.

In the past, I used to regularly frequent the Jordan House and it was super back then. I haven't been in a number of years and recently went back for an early dinner on a Saturday. There was one other table occupied. I will say our service was great. They've changed their menu. It was so lackluster that we almost decided to go...and expensive...yikes! We also weren't that impressed with the beer selection (especially with 3 excellent breweries pretty close by). We had the pizza...it was alright. Really missed things like the Buffalo chicken wrap and fries, etc. Sadly, we won't be back.

If you're looking for pub food, look no further! Great spot along the wine route to stop for pub fare with great atmosphere and drinks. Also fun in the evenings on the weekends for drinks as they have live bands.

Nice place to stay in the area especially since there are not many options. It is, however a little run down and in need of updating. Cracked bathroom sink, broken toilet handle and several other minor maintenance issues. We can see that they are trying to bring the Vintage Hotel experience to the place but they don't quite hit the mark.

Restaurant serves the greasiest fish and chips you will ever eat ..as well you receive I piece of fish with fries for well over 20 bucks. Most wait staff are OK ..but the Huuuge guy ..serves as a bartender and server ( for some wierd reason ) ..everyone knows who he is ...is definetly in the wrong line of work..worst customer service skills . never smiles..always looks like he doesn't want to be there...handed him a huge 40 dollar tip and he grunts. He has a problem relating to the average customer..To be honest the restaurant business is just not were this guy should be focusing his career on ....Just turned us right off this place . Can't believe someone like this would be employed there in a customer service role....he hasnt the faintest idea how to make customers feel wanted... . ..Never again. Ps..food value has gone way down in this place since covid was over and having Mr. Fun wait on us just soured our entire night . Don't recommend this restaurant ever again to anyone specially anyone who rents any of our 4 air bnbs in the area....we will stick with recommending wineries moving forward.

We typically visit the Jordon house a few times a year. Food in the past has been great! Unfortunately, today our meal was less than satisfying. The quesadea was undercooked, onions and peppers were super crunchy, fish was delicious however, super greasy, lastly, why do all these restaurants have to load up your plate with fries enough for four people, such waste. Service the past 2 times we have been in has been extremely poor. Maybe hire friendly staff that actually like what they do. Waitress not coming back to our table to find out if we were even enjoying our meal not to mention we had to get up to ask for extra stuff. Told that she would bring it to the table but then she decided to clean off an empty table first. If she would have been more attentive we might not be writing this review. Dirty mug and spoon to boot. Sorry folks we won't be running back anytime soon!

We live locally and we're on our way to niagara falls and stopped in for a drink and snack .we ordered the 'country plate' and asked it this was similar to a charcuterie board the server said yes it is..when it came out..there was 6 slices of lunch meat from a package..it was so greasy we couldn't even eat it..half of an apple sliced but the knife they used had been used for onion or maybe garlic as the apple tasted like it the pickles were warm and soft ..the bread was so hard it wasn't edible ..a small dish of mustard not sure what it was for unless we were supposed to make a sandwich? And a scoop of what I think may have been apple butter but looked like apple sauce.. I thought Jordan house had been bought by vintage inns.. but this was shocking. Usually the food is good ...but this time..we ended up sending it back..the server was nice but when you complain about food we would have expected a manager to come out..it wasn't even that busy ..come-on vintage inns..you can do better..

Stopped in for a quick beer and pizza. The beer was cold and the pizza was delicious. Our sever was a very overweight man named Jerry. He was rude, cussed out the other staff, and when he had to go downstairs to the kitchen to get our pizza, he seemed livid. Overall probably would have been a good experience if he wasn’t around.

Arrived for lunch and was greeted promptly. Chose a table at this moderately busy restaurant and had a waitress give us the special of the day..9 oz wine for the price of a 6 oz and fish and chips for $9. Swapped out chips for a house salad and everything was perfect. An enjoyable meal at a casual dining space. Highly recommend.

First time eating in since covid started. The staff here was so friendly and accommodating. I had the wings, tons of sauce and cooked to perfection. My husband had the shaved roast beef sandwich and he said it was damn good. They servings here are huge. We really enjoyed our meal.

What a great facility. Very very clean and tidy. A little over modernized in decor IMO yet subtly cozy and inviting. Ok, so ya know how everyone says "the best wings" well I call BU*@S*#$ . CUZ these wings are sizeable, succulent and downright scrumptious. DO have the fish and chips as well! Alas......I have but one satisfied stomach to give the JOHO and man it will never be enough! Thanks JOHO!

Waited 20 mins to even see a menu. Waited another 40 minutes before seeing our food. If I hadn’t gone inside to enquire as to “should we just leave?” it surely would have taken longer. There was only one other table with two women dining on patio and there were three tables - all with four or less people inside.... 5 tables total in mid afternoon and it took us an hour to receive our food. An hour. I did my best to be patient but got sick of it when I checked my phone. A friend had called me just as we arrived so that’s how I know we waited 1 full hour from when we got there to get food to the table. Wow. I’ve worked in hotel and food industry all through hs and ten years after. I know how hard it can be - I know how a kitchen operates. 5 tables? There was no rush of people that left as we arrived. This was on a slow afternoon. I don’t expect fast food timing but .... an hour? Really? For wings and a burger ? I’ll never repeat.

Went here on Sunday and had an awesome time. It was quiet with quick service and excellent food. We liked it so much we decided to come back again on Monday. Our experience on Monday was subpar. We waited nearly 15 mins for our first drink, our waitress made a mistake and brought out the wrong food and drink on 2 separate occasions. Do not get the treehugger burger, it was very underwhelming. The rest of the food we had was great. Very slow service 2nd time around. Would rate between 3 and 4 stars.
