So as always Sakura dose not fail to amaze us. The place was full, but manager found us place to sit at the Teppanyaki bar. We were greeted by Chef Nasir he was amazingly courteous. I highly recommend to have him as your chef. We took recommendations from our chef he asked our likes and dislikes and mood preference and suggest the below items from menu. Everything was exceptional and made with love. Dumpling with japanese gyoza 9/10 Smoked salmon maki 12/10 Volcano Philadelphia roll 10/10 Beef Teppanyaki 12/10 Prawn Teppanyaki 10/10 Everything was exceptionally well made and beef tenderloin temperature was just perfect it was like dreamy melt in the mouth and prawn was just perfect and juicy. I would love to go there and have Chef Nasir make food for me. Ambiance 7/10 needs to be upgraded Takeaway packing is poor Value for money is 5/10 Drinks are just OK Management is very good

It was my first visit to Sakura. Overall a pleasant experience interms of service and food. Ambiance was okish since its a very old restaurant given which the decor and furniture is accordingly. Food was good and appetizers were ok.

One of the place where you can get your Japanese cuisine craving fixed - especially for foreigner & tourist like me. Food wise was great. Quality ingredient were used especially their fried rice. However, for price point - doesn’t seem to be worth it. It is quite expensive.

The best place in Pakistan for authentic Japanese food experience. You won't find better sushi and sashimi in the entire country. The ambiance gives you vintage Karachi feels with downtown views from the top. Even the crockery is authentic Japanese. Overall, a must do if you're in Karachi

Beyond my comprehension of the food quality vs price. I'd be willing to pay if the food was exceptional, but not for average/ mediocre food. Japanese and Pan Asian cuisine level has now changed in the local market.

We’ve always had a great time at Sakura. The food has always been delicious and the service is top notch. I just find that in my recent visits, it seems like the food portions have gotten smaller and smaller. Nevertheless, great fine-dining spot and has an amazing view as well.

Food was excellent and service was fine. The dining area set up is very makeshift because of covid SOPs. It looks very casual and it's noisy. The serving area is too close to the seating area and it looked messy. The overall experience was not "fine dining". But we enjoyed the food.

A very good Japanese restaurant but I was shocked by how ridiculously expensive it has now become post lockdown. I don't believe they can justify charging these extortionate prices, especially when nearly all of the key ingredients are locally sourced. Very good restaurant it is, value for money it certainly isn't.

Hands down the best sushi specifically and Japanese cuisine generally in the city

  • 2/5 Ali K. 2 years ago on Google
Overly priced, like sushi is raw fish, you catch it and you serve it, in the price they charge I can buy a yatch go to Caribbean islands in it hire some one to catch fish for me and cook it and feed me. Anyways this restaurant is not my cup of tea. I could hardly understand the menu and the food I ordered something that sounded like stake with teriyaki sauce and it's was just beef strips with sauce which only had tons of soy sauce, I swallowed it like a medicine as every bite reminded me what I was paying for it. My wife loves sushi so next time I am taking McDonald's burger with me or anything that can fit in my pocket. There is nothing on the menu for children, most drink they have on the menu are unavailable and desert mentioned on the menu are not available .. Imagine the give walls ice cream in that overly priced excuse for a restaurant.

As usual Sakura never disappoints. The food is superlative! If it were possible to give anything over 5 stars I'd do so. Ali Ditta, our server tonight was very patient and helpful with our selection of dishes. A must stop for anyone who wishes to have the freshest sushi in town!

Food was good. The chef needed training and made few mistakes. Couldn’t handle salmon properly on the grill and wasted some of it. However the ambience was excellent. Bit steep for two people dinner.

The food is not great quality that one would expect from a resturant like this. At this price point I would expect it to be authentic and cooked to perfection not over done. The service is also a let down 2+ hours for 3 course meal.

  • 4/5 zain g. 2 years ago on Google
Very impressed with this Japanese establishment. I typically have high expectations, the fact it's in Pakistan I am very impressed. This place would have received 3 star for the food, ambiance, and service. But the fact that it has a nice view of a park. Gave it the extra star.

Booking-Booked table on weekend over call with Noureen who was cooperative and great. Service-Got served by waiter Naveed. Took my family to try out Japanese food especially sushi. The menu was confusing and not helpful for a first timer and the waiter seemed irritated when asked to suggest what to order. This made me feel uncomfortable. Waiters are suppose to be warm, friendly and not irritated, impatient and want to rush. Although it was a full house and they seemed under staffed. Food- I have had sushi internationally in different countries and if one tries authentic sushi they instantly fall in love. Sakura's sushi was dryyyy and taste was below average . Fish shop at boat basin has better and cheaper sushi to be honest. The other food item portion size was tiny and it was okay for the flavour of the food because if we were given a bigger portion size we couldn't have eaten it happily due to the taste. The taste of the food is okay a 2.8/5. The portion size definitely matched the flavour. Ambience- on a Saturday-didnt feel I was in an expensive restaurant. It was too noisy ..way too noisy. Packed with upper class people (a few tables were soo noisy and lost in themselves that thought they owned the place) I have been here twice and noticed this the other time too. If you like quiet places then it would be advisable to go on a weekday. Bill- 25,000 (2 sushi,2 tiny bowls of garlic rice, chicken sause/stew,beef tenderloin,2 sticks of tofu)

This restaurant does not justify its pricing at all. Too noisy, the menu was quite difficult to understand coupled with waiters who would misguide. Food was pretty average at this price

I have always liked thier food this time it was quite waiting list on it. Waiters were not even available service was slow n bad I would say. If you cant afford more then 30 ppl dont take reservations for 60 ppl just a advice.

I ate Nigri, Maki, Sashmi and California Rolls. I liked Sashmi and rest of items were 7/10. Comparing taste and quality with the money you pay, it fells heavy on the pocket.

Very nice atmosphere but seating is sometime a bit cramped....the table we got was near a private area and for everyone coming in or going out ..the guest seated near the door had to shuffle again and again ....food servings were a bit conservative and I think PC should be a bit generous with the portions ..otherwise a great place ...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sakura, and it was truly an enchanting experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by the serene ambiance and the subtle aroma of cherry blossoms in the air. The décor is tastefully done, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly blending with modern design. The attention to detail in creating an authentic atmosphere is commendable, making Sakura a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The menu at Sakura is a testament to the chef's dedication to excellence. The extensive selection of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese delicacies showcases a commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each dish is a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavors that delight the palate. The sushi rolls are especially noteworthy, with creative combinations that cater to both traditional and adventurous tastes. The staff at Sakura are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly attentive. They are eager to assist with menu recommendations, ensuring that each guest has a personalized dining experience. The service is prompt and courteous, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal. One standout feature of Sakura is their commitment to sustainability. The restaurant's efforts to source sustainable seafood and reduce environmental impact are commendable, adding an extra layer of appreciation for their culinary endeavors. The beverage selection complements the culinary offerings perfectly. Whether you're a fan of traditional sake or prefer a signature cocktail, Sakura has an impressive array of options to suit every taste. In conclusion, Sakura provides a dining experience that goes beyond the ordinary. From the exquisite cuisine to the impeccable service, this restaurant has captured the essence of Japanese dining with finesse.
