We went there because we thought with all the incredibly high ratings, this is a must-go when in Lisbon. Unfortunately it is not. Obviously, because of all the 5* ratings, we also had high expectations. Anyway … We ordered the Cod Fish and the Octopus. Our meals were lukewarm at best when we got them, the fish was dry and the octopus lacked in flavour. Also the restaurant is really small, which in general is not a problem, but in their case I’d much rather take a table or two out so everyone has more space to move, they have more time for their customers and it doesn’t get as crowded. On a positive note: The staff is really nice and they try to make you feel comfortable. But I have to say that there are better restaurants in Lisbon with better value for money.

Duque is an amazing restaurant, located in the central (historical) part of Lisbon. The restaurant has an amazing menu, with a great variety of tapas, starters, fish dishes and meat dishes. I asked the waiters for a recommendation, and ended up by eating one of the best cod dishes I've ever had. The staff is very kind, and speaks English very well. Prices are good, and might even be considered cheap. I've enjoyed my stay here, and I would recommend everybody to eat here. It is however recommended to make a reservation, especially since the restaurant is quite small.

I came to this restaurant based on its great reviews, but I have a mixed opinion about this restaurant. While its staff were friendly and efficient, some of them were smoking and chatting in a group in front of its restaurant (they could be a bit more discreet ?). Their dishes were ok but the octopus dish I had was overly cooked and hard to chew. Three was also too much oil on its plate served. By the way, this restaurant is classified as a hotel on google for its reviews. This has to be corrected l.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Duque. The fish and vegetables were extremely flavorful and the quality was superb. I highly suggest the fried prawns! The sauce was incredible and unlike anything I’ve tried before! The risotto was pretty rich, but the flavors balanced nicely and nothing overpowered the other. There was friendly service and the food arrived quickly! I would definitely recommend dining here!

We started with sheep cheese, green olives and white bread as it starts in many other Portuguese restaurants. Then we continued with jumbo shrimps, grilled octopus with sweet potato and green wine. Everything was super delicious. The green wine tastes similar to white wine. It is a fresh summer wine with a little sparkling and pear flavour. The staff was helpful and friendly.

A fantastic place to grab dinner in a quaint setting. All the food was excellent, well seasoned and cooked beautifully. For a restaurant close to a tourist hot spot, the prices were very affordable. Highly recommend you try out this spot.

Very clean restaurant. Nice ambiance. Food was delicious. Fish is grilled openly so that you can watch. We ordered the 3 fish menu for 2 people and were very satisfied. Delicious. We ordered the garlic prawn as a starter and it was also delicious. It was my favorite Restaurant in Lisbon

Best meal we had in Lisbon. Grilled fish was delicious, with a warm salad that was a nice surprise. Potatoes on the side were also fantastic. We also had the octopus salad which was amazing and didn't skimp on the octopus, as well as the seafood rice. The dessert was the real star. We had the banana cream. Crunchy chocolate shavings with layers of rich cream, banana, and salty graham at the bottom. Don't skip it!

This place serves good food with fresh ingredients. Seafood porridges is one of the best we had in Porto, giant octopus you should not miss, salmon is quite meaty if you are hungry , size of prawns is huge and seasoned very well. All the food was charged a reasonable price , with all dishes plus sangria as drinks, cost us around EUR90. The place was quite popular and we were arranged to be seated next to the restroom, and door of the rest room cannot be fully shut. it was quite stuffy in the evening as they were running full house. We requested one waitress to turn on the Aircon and then 5min later it was turned off by another waiter. Other than this , i would still recommend you to come for the food , just try to avoid the table next to rest room…

We got the pork cheek and seafood rice and omg!! Both were amazing. Then we had some banana pudding like dessert in a jar that was also outstanding. The place is decorated with 80s tech and gadgets and has a very nice ambiance.

A small and intimate restaurant located in the heart of lisbon. Duque has a small menu that offers a great mix. The food was amazing. We started with the goats cheese, bread and olives which was delicious. We then had the grilled prawns and lamb chops with an octopus salad. The lamb chops were the best lamb chops I have ever had, I would highly recommend. There was a great wine menu as you would expect at a restaurant like this and they offered a strong selection of portugese wines from which we had a lovely Douro. The decor of the restaurant was lovely, very rustic with a twist. Service was brilliant and very accommodating to our pram in such a small space. Be aware you do sit very close to other people but for us this wasn't a problem as we met some wonderful people there. The food is extremely reasonably priced and brilliant value for a local and authentic Portuguese that isn't a tourist restaurant. Fantastic experience all round.

The staff is friendly and the ambiance is nice, the foods and wines really depends what you ordered. We liked the king prawns and bloody moon cocktails but the fish mix was mediocre. The house wine was so sweet which I don’t like. In the end still one of the good restaurants around worth to visit Second experience: Green wine is better and lamb chops were tasty we also liked the couscous salad. Sea rice still not the best one but better than the fishes

We came here for an early dinner around 5:15pm as we had an mother activity planned in the evening. The restaurant is small but well decorated and looked very traditional. The food was great; the cheese entree was soft and tasty and served along decent bread and oil. My wife and I shared a tuna salad, followed by the cod confit for me and grilled fish for her. All fresh and perfectly cooked. The only reasons I didn’t give this 5*s are: A) The prices are ok but not the cheapest in Lisbon B) the service could have been quicker. When we ordered we were the only table in the restaurant and it took 20min to serve the starter and then 20 min to serve the main. Perhaps it was our fault for not telling them our desire to leave by a set time but they could have easily have reduced the total service time by 15 min instead of the 40min total we have to wait. C) when they offer the entree at the start the waiter showed you the cheese alongside the olives and olive oil. This is a bit naughty because the cheese is priced separately at 3€, and the olives, oil and bread are their own starter at 3€ as well. So if you accept the entree as shown it’s going to cost you 6€. I had checked the menu before so was aware of this pricing but be aware if you think you are getting a cheese and bread entree for only 3€

Extremely authentic and restaurant has a great ambiance, plus very polite and competent staff. Food could have been a bit more, but I'm a glutton too. We recommend!

This place was a top 3 for me in Lisbon. It’s small, intimate and unforgettable. Plan to make a reservation because it’s very popular, but worth it. Try to sit in the main restaurant, the have a overflow location but it’s not the same experience. The seafood is seriously incredible— fresh, flavorful and delicious. Every single thing we ordered was amazing and the crème brûlée was phenomenal. We can’t wait to go back !

Great little restaurant just up the hill from the train station (streets are very steep though, it's a tough walk even if only a few minutes!) Wonderfully friendly service - which is just as well as in this cosy little venue you are likely never more than arms reach from one of the servers or chefs! At least one of the waiters spoke pretty good English, which helped us - there was an English version of the menu too. The food was varied and delicious - we had a selection of small plates, including ceviche and blood sausage (both of which we knew we would like) and a "chicken gizzards" dish which we ventured a gamble on. So glad we tried it, as it was superb - it had the gentle texture and depth of flavour of confit duck, in a spicy tomato sauce that reminded me of really good patatas bravas. And served with some chunks of fried (deep fried?) bread - again not usually my favourite thing but worked perfectly here. Great value too. Strongly recommended. Might be worth booking as we had to wait 5-10 minutes to get a table (at 10pm on a Thursday - it's clearly popular!)

We reserved a seat for two for 1900 dinner. The venue is a little small, but that's what makes it great. Nice ambiance and decoration We ordered the Sea Rice and Mixed fish and the meal was 10/10 -- we would absolutely return if we ever found ourselves back in Lisbon The Sea Rice was one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had!

Lovely and cozy. The perfect spot for an amazing -and delicious- lunch. The place is not big, which helps the cozy and warm atmosphere. Great food (mostly fish/seafood) and friendly stuff. Every bite was exquisite and full of joy. Prices were reasonable, meaning that the quality/price ratio is great.

We ended up here by chance! Passing by the place, it was crowded and no one outside tried to pull you in (it's usually the case in Lisbon touristic districts). This was a good sign that food quality should be good! I'm happy that our assumption was right, the food was great and the waiters were welcoming and very kind. I can highly recommend the place.

The reviews don't lie, this place is excellent indeed. Very kind and polite service, wonderful grilled fish and lemon rice. The toilet is clean and the washbasin is very stylish. Highly recommended in Lisbon.

The tiger prawn is amazingly good. Duck leg is finger licking good. But we couldn’t get the taste of the sea rice. It’s so sour that I feel like eating lemon. But because the other dishes are so good, we didn’t ask if the sour level’s normal or not for the dish we ordered. Overall a great dinning experience.

Rustic place, there are like 20 covers, so intimate. Food authentic and very good, I had one of the best octopuses I have ever eaten. Fair price, good location and super kind staff. If I were to return to Lisbon I would know where to eat, I recommend it!

The food was good, we had a white fish ceviche and the roasted octopus which was a little bit too oily but it was well cooked. The staff was friendly but not really helpful and the place is small and a little bit crowded even if there wasn’t a lot of people they put us in the same corner and we didn’t have a lot of space. But it’s a fine place in the end not extraordinary but not too bad.

Cute little restaurant with very good seafood. The fish is simply cooked but yet delicious and is very fresh. The staff went above and beyond to serve us despite the late hours. Must visit while in Lisbon.

The waiters are super friendly and thank you for making us dinner at 10:15 at night Very fresh seafood - fish especially Ordered the following Grilled sea bass x2 - had to go for seconds because we found the fish was very Fresh and cooked very well. With the price 11 euro it comes with baby potatoes and veggies! Worth every dollar (euro) Tuna salad - delicious veggies mix with pan-seared tuna and eggs in a big portion - definitely recommend Octopus - it was just right and sweet. I expected the entire octopus though My family got the shrimps and they loved it too. PS would have loved to tip more but someone else paid.

Varied dishes, some good but none were exceptional. Enjoyed the ceviche despite slightly chewy fish, sea bream was tasty. Octopus was overcooked and dry, clams on the smaller side. Prices reasonable for the experience. Music was a bit loud though.

We made a reservation and enjoyed our evening at this restaurant. Our order included sangria, bread mix, croquettes, a steak sandwich, tiger prawns, and sea bass. The standout dish for us was the steak sandwich. However, we were disappointed that the sea bass lacked any discernible taste, and the tiger prawns were disappointingly dry and challenging to extract from their shells. The vegetables were quite oily, but the sangria was a reliable choice. Overall, it's a restaurant worth considering, but I didn't find a dish that truly stood out.

This place is very small, so be sure to get there early to grab a table. This was one of the best places I tried while in Portugal. The seafood rice is amazing. The workers are very nice and friendly too. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a quality meal and service

A little bit of a hype going on around this restaurant. Which means you better make a reservation beforehand, but then the food is quite good too and prices are reasonable, so if you want to settle on something central with good taste and good food, I guess Duque checks these.

We were lucky to get a table for dinner without reservation. The staff was really friendly. We had the bread and cheese, two starters and four main courses for 4 people and that was okay, we weren't neither stuffed nor hungry. The food quality was good and the flavour solid.

If you’re looking for a delicious lunch spot near Barrio Alto for something light or something filling look no further! We were fortunate to be seated for lunch at this quaint place, the food was just absolutely sublime! If you’re looking for the best seasoned and tasting Octopus (Pulvo) in Lisbon, look no further! Please check this place out if you get a chance! The staff was also very kind as well.

Excellent octopus. Melting in the mouth. Loved house green wine! Refreshing. Dessert with caramel and banana was also very good. Authentic and small place with many drawings and reviews pinned to the wall. Friendly staff. We loved every minute of our dinner.

Tuna salad, grilled octopus, and the duck - all were great! The restaurant has less than 10 tables so I recommend to make a reservation. We were able to reserve a few hours before the dinner on Sunday night. Only indoor seating. Free wifi and fast service is always a plus! 🙌

Favorite was the chicken gizzard, surprisingly flavorful and well cooked - perfectly paired with the bread as well. Duck confit rice was also great and so were the clams.

Amazing Restaurant! We have been to several places but this was by far the best! We shared everything which was super nice. Ordered a few starters and some main dishes including seafood und meat, but also veggie. Everything was simply delicious. Even the dessert left us speechless. The staff was super friendly and the food was served quickly. (If you can- do a reservation)

Top quality fresh food. We had to wait to be served though certainly worth it. Arguably the best octopus I had in Lisbon. Starters and mains will not disappoint and the service was excellent. Nice cosy place away from hussle and bussle of Chiado. Will comeback for sure.

Crazy good food experience. From starter to main course to desert. This restaurant deserves some Michelin stars. Maybe I can see the combination or inspiration from asian food. Best restaurant in Portugal!!

Very best in Portugal so far, there is a wait line during evening dinner time. Friendly staffs. The foods are great, and the pairing wine is also good. The tiger prawn is excellent. Fish plate is also good. No wonder it attracts a long wait line. Be patient if you don't have a reservation, it is worth the wait for the mainly seafood dishes.

Their most popular dish octopus with potatoes is quite normal. And the service is very bad. Two ladies are not warm to guest, inspite they talking and laughing each other. I paid the tips anyway, yes, not much because of above, but, they even did not speak a word. Terrible place!
