Museo de São Roque (€2.50) is the attached museum at the impressive Igreja de Sao Roque (free entry) located at Largo Trindade Coelho. Both attractions are very good and make for a pleasant hour or so of sightseeing in this area of Lisbon. Museum opening hours are 10-6pm (Tues-Sun) and 2-6pm (Mondays). Here you will find two floors filled with artworks, antiquities, reliquaries and other precious possessions accumulated over the centuries by the church and Santa Casa da Misericordia de Lisboa, the charitable organisation which has possessed and managed the facilities since after the 1755 Lisbon Earthquake. The gallery rooms include nice oil paintings, tapestry and wooden statue figures amongst other interesting things to see. However, the finest possessions are the treasures which were originally located in the Chapel of St. John the Baptist in the church nave. These have been relocated to the museum and are held here. Note: If you are short on time, you can browse through the full collection in 20-25 minutes. A more leisurely visit to Museo de São Roque will require 40+ minutes. We were here for just over a half hour and were moving a bit quicker than we would have liked. Note: The São Roque church and museum are roughly 6-7 minutes walk from Igreja do Carmo, another top church and museum visit in Lisbon. Given their proximity, it makes sense to combine visits to these attractions. Note: Photography is allowed throughout the church and the museum of São Roque.

Dear gentlemen, it is deserved to praise and recognize the work carried out by Aldeia Santa Isabel, from SCML, on behalf of young people who seize the opportunity offered to them. However, a percentage of young people are genuine bandits, spreading terror at bus stops near the institution. They rob and threaten children, young people and adults with sharp weapons, both inside buses and outside, creating insecurity and fear in people, depriving those who need to use public transport freely. The institution and SCML must take the necessary measures with the authorities to mitigate this situation, because a criminal's place is in jail and not robbing those who contribute so they can have a future. As a last resort, a gathering of residents will take place, in the presence of the media, to publicize what is really going on.

👍👍 Impressive and unusual collection of international art across centuries presented in a cool setting and with a pleasant cantine as well. Museums can be boring or over specialised or too intellectual - this one strikes a great balance of providing and overview and focusing on some extraordinary style...

😠 If you want to feel how low you can be treated by someone, try interacting with the people in charge of adoptions here, especially Margarida Saldanha! Tried to adopt a cat from here, but all the people I spoke with were so disrespectful and talking down. The lack of social skills with these people h...

👍👍 Excellent Palace and fortunately they are recovering it little by little because it is a paradise within the city that deserves to come back to life with architectural and cultural dignity.
