The ambience of the store, with its nostalgic charm and warm service, enhances the enjoyment of these iconic Portuguese tarts. Brilliant like always. We've tried all the Manteigaria shops in town we've got across and it is just amazing. Pastel de Nata is no doubt my favorite pastry in Portugal. Of course it is hard as anywhere you and anything you choose be is sweet or normal food, it just doesn't stop to amaze. If I were to move here I would double my weight in a month :)

🌟 Tao's Google Restaurant Reviews 🌟 Highly highly recommend these Portuguese Tarts as being one of the best ones in Portugal. Definitely have them when they are warm and out of the oven. They are very rich in flavor and texture. Don't bother wasting your money with the other random Portuguese tarts in the city. The only ones worth mentioning would be Manteigaria and Pastéis de Belém. 🍲Food: 5 🧑‍🍳Service: 5 🍴Atmosphere: 5 FINAL SCORE 5

Delicious pastel de nata in Lisbon! Also an excellent espresso. We very much enjoyed the filling and temperature of the pastry. The setting of the bustling Time Out Market was a fun atmosphere and very much enjoyed eating at the bar. The staff was very friendly and efficient.

First stop and last stop on our Lisbon trip for our favorite Pasteis de Nata! What a delight to watch them being prepared. They were such a perfect combination of creamy custard in the flaky crust. Wonderful!!

Beautiful pastel de nata! Located just outside the front of the Time Out market. Had heard of this famous Portuguese custard tart chain and knew I wanted to try one during my visit to Lisbon and it was of my favourites I had in Portugal. This one was a bit sweeter and sugary than others I’ve tried, but crisp on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside.

This was suggested by some locals as one of the best in the city and I have to agree that the pasteis de nata are amazing. In Canada pasteis de Nata are widely available but unsurprisingly, these are at a different level altogether. The pastry is thin and delicate while the custard is so creamy.... Wow. Take these home - even if you have far to travel. Pro tip: warm them in the oven for a few minutes to bring them back to delicious life...

One of the best pastel de nata in Lisbon! The pastry is crispy without being overly crunchy and the custard is delicate and velvety. An absolute must when in Lisbon.

I've tried so many different pastel de natas in Lisbon and these are definitely the best - many locals agreed with me. Absolutely delicious and the staff are really friendly in the Time Out Market branch!

Couldn’t really leave Lisbon without trying their iconic “pastel de nata”. Custard was so creamy but not too sweet and the pastry was cooked perfectly. I seriously could devour a number of them! If you’re looking for an authentic pastel de nata, Manteigaria is the place to go.

Not the best not the worst Pastel de Nata we had although it is quite famous. Crunchy pastry filled with rather sweet cream. They do have fresh espresso as it all the pastry shops that serve this dessert. No place to sit. Only bar. No reservations needed within the TimeOut Market. There are paid parking options available also street side parking with meters.

Good pastel de nata and good coffee (decent coffee is somehow hard to come by around here!)

Very solid Pasteis de Nata located in the Time Out Market for dessert or a quick bite. Pastry and custard balanced each other well and came at a reasonable price (€1.20 each)

Manteigaria is a Lisbon based pastel de nata specialist. They have a few branches around the city including a prime spot within Mercado Riberia (Timeout Market Lisboa) with entry inside and outside the main market. Opening hours are 8am to 12pm daily. Expect to find a queue lined up to purchase their delicious Portuguese style egg tarts. We stopped by and enjoyed a couple of pasteis de nata along with a shot of ginjinha while recently at Mercado Riberia. Their prices are reasonable (Є1.20 per tart) and (Є1.60 per ginja shot), and in all honestly both tasted very good. The tart crust was many layers of crispy layers, the custard filling soft and sweet with a nice burn on the surface. This was a good showing for Manteigaria. We found them to compare well with peer Pastéis de Belém and would gladly pass by for more tarts during future visits to Lisbon.

Delicious egg tart. The texture is slightly different where the center is more chewy and sticky than the others you’ll eat. The top shell is very crispy. Highly recommend!!

This is one of the best place for to eat pastel. I heard this place on Netflix series ‘’Somebody feed Phil’’. Pastel is tasty but I can’t say that It was the best. I had better one in Nazare.

We visited the Time Out Market location of this store to try Portugal’s famous Pasteis and were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were served (this may have been due to it being early in the day). Served warm and with cinnamon sprinkled on top, we were glad we opted for extras as one was simply not enough! I have to say that these are the best Portuguese Custard Tarts I have ever had! A must visit!!

This is the first pastel de nata we had in Portugal. Because I've been to Macau many many times, I knew the Portuguese ones aren't as good already. Too sweet, not enough egg and cream in the egg custard. It's more a custard tart than egg tart. However, compared to the other famous pastel de nata in Lisbon, this is better. The custard still too sweet and can't compared to the Macau one. But the crust was well done! Just the crust I'd give a 5 stars. But it's a egg custard tart not just crust. The crust is very flaky and buttery. I think this one is the better one if not the best in Lisbon.

Another reviewer said it best, “not the best but not the worst”. They need to serve the pastry hot, it is sooo much better quente!! The cappuccino was good. Customer service could be better.

On our first day exploring Lisbon and seeing this, we thought it’s great to start out exploration with one of the foods that need to try when in Lisbon - Pastel de Nada. And we’re happy with the texture, taste, and creaminess of the tart. Amazing 🤩 Will surely visit again for dine in along with coffee.

tl;dr: these may actually be the best overall Pasteis de Nata in Lisbon, but don't take my word for it and try for yourselves! I am not from Lisbon, but I can imagine there is some controversy over what is the best Pastel de Nata in town. The most famous is definitely Pastel de Belém, but there is much more to pastel de nata than just pasteis de Belém. Having tried both (and the ones from Fábrica de Nata), I have to say I would prefer Manteigaria's version over Pasteis de Belém. It's very subtle, though. These are still crunchy, but not as crumbly. The filling has the slightest touch of cinnamon (the other one may have this too and I may just not be remembering it), while retaining all the characteristics that make a good pastel de nata. Served warm, it's just delightful. The best thing to do is, of course, to try them all. Ain't nobody ever regrettin' doing that, except when one weighs themselves at home after spending some time in Lisbon :D

Amazing pasteis de nata, they could b some of the best I've tried! I love them when they are fresh out of the oven. Warm with cinnamon sprinkled on top....

I know it is forbidden to compare with the originals pastel de Belém, but let me tell you, these pastéis de nata were really close to the ones from Belém! Price is also really ok if taken in consideration the location (def made for tourists) If you are in the time out market and don't grab one pastel de nata from manteigaria you are insane!

👍👍 I was very surprised to see that even though this is right in the middle of “tourist town” the Pastel De Nata is by far the best I have ever tried. 👍 Bakery that has been around since 1829, used to serve royalty directly (if I remember my guide correctly). The sweets, such as the God's Bread, were definitely good and worth a try. The egg tarts are also good, but there are other places with better tasting iterations of them. Overall, a good place...
