São Rafael Cellar

Restaurant Portuguese restaurant

😐 Pleasant restaurant but the terrace is sloping (sometimes people fall out of their chairs). The food has lost a lot of quality and the service is no longer Portuguese at all (the waiters hardly speak Portuguese and are not at all pleasant). The usher is very good and the music very nice. People often mention restaurant, good, great, service, nice, friendly,

✅ Staff, composed salad, cheese, chorizo and the location 🚫 Charcuterie Welcomed by a nice staff in the middle of Alfama, we enjoyed a cool lunch! The composed salad was original and fresh. The chorizo and the cheese, good! Also, the porto (ruby and tawney) were cool! However the charcuterie was "ok", and the fries definitely "industrial". Everything was served quickly and with smile, even of we feel that some staff were starting. Even if the other comments can be scary and it is not "the" restaurant, I assure you we had a good time and you can come without fear :)

Amazing sardines and a fantastic chocolate mousse within the cobbled alleyways and pastel houses of central Alfama. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area.

Applies to the two Lokdale Alfama Cellar and São Rafael Cellar, which are located next to each other. Anyone who can get a table on the forecourt or in front of the restaurant when the weather is nice can feel privileged. You have a great atmosphere and almost feel like you're in the theater because the people passing by (pedestrians/tourists) almost seem like artists on stage. The modern restaurant also has indoor seating and offers very fine food such as tapas, port sausages, squid etc. Grill with fine bread and much more. All fine, real Portuguese cuisine. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Food is ok ,worst service ever. We were waiting 50 minutes for the drinks and we ended up the food with no drinks after asking several times to waiters. Not recommended at all

Amazing. I don't know what more to ask for from a place like this. Fabulous sardines, mouth-watering bacalao burgers, good, cold draft beer, excellent gaspacho and arroz con camarao.

Very atypical and folkloric restaurant in the Alfama district of Lisbon. I find that the quality of the products is slightly declining. The musicians who sing Fado are always on top and create the perfect atmosphere in the restaurant. The owner is always so friendly with her customers which is pleasant. On the other hand, all the servers are Indian, it's like anything you would think is in New Delhi!!

Lovely restaurant but I question the authenticity of this place as it was full of tourists and lacked any locals. The service was good and friendly and the food was fine (nothing spectacular really). The interior was calm and relaxing, we definitely enjoyed the experience.

*** I can't understand every bad review here! I had the best meal of my life here and will definitely go again. The ambience is beautiful, quiet and cozy. The service is very quick and friendly and the food came quickly. This is exactly what you want when you visit a restaurant. I ate shrimp Algarve style.

Unfriendly service; Caipirinha was very bad. We were invited by the nice atmosphere as we passed by. But for us that was a mistake. We're never coming back.

Very lovely place. The food was excellent. We had the shrimp risotto and bacalao spaghetti as main course. Both tasted great and at a very good price.

Very disappointed, there is a real problem in this restaurant. Horrible food, for my part I had a broken veal with chestnuts which actually broke my stomach. Nothing is ready, my dentist has some worries as soon as I return to France I thought I lost a tooth on the chestnut. Fortunately the fado singer was incredibly kind and smiling. TO FLEE !

The ambiance is nice and the staff is really friendly. The mixed platter we had as starter was very tasty. However, the mains were a bit disappointing... We ordered a beef steak and a codfish stew. Instead of a beef steak we got a beef stew. The codfish stew was excessively salty

Great, tasty place. Nice and cultural service, but without exaggeration. I highly recommend this place.

It was the first restaurant we have been our first day in Lisboa and the restaurant where we have come back for our last lunch in the city. We have found a really good one at the first time! Food is amazing, very well prepared. The team is very kind and professional. We have been in Lisboa 4 days and we have tried several places, this one was the best. We really suggest to try this place!

This place has lovely fish food, really delicious! We had a really nice waitresses who helped us with making a choice. My little sister is allergic to milk which was no problem they made her a great garlic pasta on the fly. Prices are friendly too. Worth the trip!

Stopped by Sao Rafael Cellar while exploring the area & had the absolute best experience! Tanya was the best server and gave us great recommendations! Highly recommend the octopus. Great food at a good price. We loved the patio seating! If you are in the area check them out!

Delicious! Get a recommendation from a waitress for a meal. Meat balls, watermelon gazpacho, octopus feijoada de polvo and home made fries were amazing. Don't forget to get a shot of Ginja with a amazing waitress.

Great ambiance and great food! They have a vegetarian burger not on the menu that's delicious! Roasted sheep cheese also great!

Hello everyone, I recommend staying away from the restaurant, my beer was watered and my grilled sandines, see picture, were a mixed fish platter with mackerel. If you don't go there because of the food but because of the surprise factor, it's fine again 😜
