I am updating my feedback. Despite the incredible first impression, our cat was prescribed wrong medicine and wrong dosage on multiple occasions (by accident??!!) leading us to numerous midnight emergency drives to the hospital with Abby unable to breathe. It took US, NOT THE DOCTORS some time to discover what the issue was. Mistakes happen, but they did cost us the life of our beloved cat… Needless to say that it is impossible to get hold of their cardiologist, who looks at the cat at your absence and then you have to chase him for weeks to find out what the diagnosis/conclusion was. Heartbreaking to even think about it, but unfortunately we lost our Abby at the hospital on the 7th!!! visit in 5 weeks..

Very long waiting time, disorganization in the management of appointments. I waited almost 2 hours for a doctor's assistant to come to me and ask to take my animal for a procedure that even the doctor had not evaluated and without my presence. Absurd and lack of love for animals. I don't recommend this place.

I decided to try this veterinary clinic after reading all these praising comments. In fact, the only concern of the clinic and of the personnel is to get as much money as possible. They are not interested in solving the problem. The amount of money they charged me for the useless service is exorbitant. They tried to persuade me to leave them my cat and refused to answer in advance how much their services cost and even refused to tell me if this condition curable or not.

Disappointed with the my most recent experience with this vet in Lisbon. After 4 visits, over a few months, they finally recommend to see a Dermatologist specialist. Tab (my cat) is 16 years of age and has being suffering terribly over the past 3 weeks, with spasm and loosing bladder control. I'm unsure what the other vets were doing! When I tried to get some help, prior to the dermatologists appointment, as the cat was so stressed, I was told both vets that had seen Tab were unavailable and I will need book in with another one of their vets. Watching your own cat suffering and the medical professional you have hired, not to be helping reduce this discomfort, is not really acceptable. I really hope this current treatment will work. Beautiful looking facility, with friendly staff. Waiting times can be long.

The best vets in Lisbon! I have 2 golden retrievers with hip dysplasia. I went to this hospital for a second opinion, twice regarding different things and they always nailed it, so I just changed to this vet. It's 45km from my house and I have to go every month, but honestly I rather come here than go to any other vet. My Puppy was operated 3 months ago, she was so well cared for she loves to go there and greet everyone. She walks, runs and swims like she is normal, you will never say she has been operated of hip displasia. Dr. Henrique operated her and he will be the one operating my older dog too. You can see how he is honest and care for the wellbeing of the dogs, I will be forever gratefull to him. My dog's vet is Dr. Rafael, he's always been right in my dogs diagnostics, and has always performed outstandingly, he answers my million questions every time I go and gives advice about anything I need to know. Hats off to him! My dog loves him even tho he gives him an injection every month. But really, all the team is amazing and friendly, thanks to all the other vets too like Dr. Miguel, Dra. Patricia, nurse Mariana the receptionist (sorry I don't know her name), etc We always feel welcome and my dogs are in the best hands they can be. Thank you!!

I was on vacation with my dog in Lisbon when he got a serious infection. After calling I was able to go immediate here where multiple vets took great care of him. After being hospitalized for one day he was able to return home and after just a few days he was completely recovered! Highly recommended this veterinário. Honest prices and they are open 24/7 for emergencies.

Dr Angelina is one of the most knowledgeable veterinarians we have ever encountered. Extremely knowledgeable and caring. Goes the extra mile to make sure your pet is well taken care of

This is my go-to place when I have to take my dog to the vet. Relatively inexpensive when you have local insurance and come in during working hours (it's open 24/7 but you may pay extra on weekends or late night appointments). The staff is always friendly and helpful. One thing that always slightly bothers me is their resolve in getting you to binge on additional exams, thus bringing your costs way up. I feel like it's not always warranted and a stretch on the principle of precaution. But outside of that, very happy with the service!

We always got great service, as did the dog. Henrique is a professional, very careful and thorough, and doesn't jump to conclusions. Worth the trip to Portugal if you live somewhere where veterinary surgeries would cost a paw and a leg.

great vets and great service. when our cat was sick and had to stay at the hospital, the doctors made sure to give me a call daily (or even twice a day) with updates. both the cat and I loved the experience at hospital de são bento 🙏🏼

The vets here are great, and the facility itself is super modern—looks like a day spa for pets :)

My dog is always very scared of going to the vet, doc. Ana Serafim was so nice and patient with her. We had to wait a long time but we went without an appointment, and we where very glad with how they treated our girl and the entire process.

Dr Henrique is the best veterinary orthopedic surgeon in Portugal (in my humble opinion). The staff were kind and caring, thr care my dog received was excellent. We won't take our baby anywhere else.

After going to their wonderful emergency service, we switched to them as our regular vet. Josie's vet specializes in orthopedics and got her on a program, including water therapy that they do, that got her out if pain. Cats and dogs are in separate floors, great for both species plus those of us allergic to cats Plus, the facility is absolutely gorgeous.

Ignorance is bliss This is the principle of this place. I came here on Saturday, my dog sharpey had a bite on his cheek. I told the doctor these things: 1. this breed has such a skin that it is difficult to find a wound on it, so I showed the doctor the bite site myself and asked him to remember where it is. 2. This breed has a separation anxiety and I am ready to help as much as possible with its treatment, being around all the time so that the wound treatment procedure is as safe and fast as possible. 3. When a dog bites another dog, the jaws close on both sides, so there are often two wounds, not just one. 4. The dog needs to be given water to make it calmer. The doctor assured me that in order to treat the wound and shave the bite site, she needs to take the dog to a specially prepared place where specially trained people with the right tools will do everything as professionally as possible. Unfortunately, I believed it. The whole procedure of bullying my dog lasted 15 minutes until I interrupted it. It took the doctor 5 minutes to put a plastic cap on the dog, which was already muzzled, which the doctor could not even fasten. The doctor lost the wound that I showed her on the dog 5 minutes ago, before the whole procedure. No one gave the dog water. The special equipment that was mentioned earlier is a razor for a dog and a cloth with antiseptic. The nurse could not find an outlet in a specially prepared room. An ordinary electrical outlet. In a special room! Just so you understand. She was running around the room looking for an outlet, as if she was there for the first time. Remember I wrote above that the doctor put a cap on the dog. Guess where. That's right — on the wound itself, which needs to be examined. For 15 minutes, I watched as 5 completely incompetent people tried to make ordinary work only a hundred times more difficult, ignoring all my requests and warnings. The clinic is very clean and has a very beautiful garden. Come here for a great atmosphere, but treat your pets elsewhere. Shame on you, Sao Bento Vet Hospital

As for the Portuguese standards, this hospital is good. Key advantages: - open 24/7 so that this is a solution for emergency (hope you never need it though) - has all diagnostics and machines in house, so that you don’t have to go elsewhere to pass the blood test or any other exam - it saves time - highly experienced leading surgeon - Dr.Henrique - facilitates and space However, as everywhere in Portugal, doctors think and act just following the prescribed protocol. So that, you barely can get individual approach or some extra effort in challenging the disease.

Very nice place. Helpful and caring stuff and doctors. Beautiful interior with dimmed light and calming music which helps to reduce stress for an animal. Been there for a check-up and passport change. All went smoothly. Thanks

It's not a serious place to go. Made an appointment in person to get my dog groomed, showed there 10 minutes earlier, and made me wait half an hour to tell me that they didn't have time to do the service..never had that kind of experience before.

Absolutely recommend! Wonderful, very competent people, english speaking staff, the hospital is well equipped with a beautiful architecture and much much more. We had an emergency with our old dog on a saturday morning and the hospital veterinario de sao bento was close to our appartment. Lucky us! Our dog had to be hospitalized and stay there for a week. Everyone was very supportive & the treatment & location was excellent. We got to take our dog back to germany but sadly the hospital veterinario sao bento did not fit in our car. Otherwhise we would have brought it as well for sure.

High prices and service not good

They definitely know what they do. Great premises, beautiful spaces and everything is very clean. Vets and rest of staff are super friendly and they really care for our furry family. A very good experience.

I brought my 12 year old little gal here last summer to get an EU passport. The office is lovely and very clean. The vet was kind and gentle with her. Would recommend!

Great place. I called for my dog having infection and it was treated super fast. They have all lab equipment there, the hospital is large. All necessary pills were given on spot.

We always take our Corgi Olivia there for everything she needs and we have had amazing experiences with Dr. Ana Serafim (and her colleagues), she is very caring and caring with Olivia, always does her best to help us, and checks everything on Olivia to make sure you are recommending the right treatments. We really love Dr. Ana and would recommend her to anyone that is looking for a good professional to take care of their puppies.

It was our visit taking our kitten 5 months old. We had to take him under the emergency care. The vets speak good English the hospital is well established and has all the facilities they also advise you how to care for your pet depending on their condition. You can also get done the passport services for your pet here.

I received an exceptional service from this hospital. After things turning out the exact opposite way I have wished after the surgery to get my dog spayed, I had the full support from the hospital medical team in assisting us. After visiting the place a few times they can consider me as a loyal customer. I trust the vets in this place very much and I believe their care and preparation is really a high standard one. Recommended if you want to leave your dog in reliable hands.

Best vet in Lisbon. We live in Sintra(30 min away) and come here just because of their great facilities, extremely polite and kind workers, knowledgeable staff and accessible location(just 2 minutes from the main highway).

Great service, we visited over for a health certification on our way back to USA and we really liked our Veterinary Miguel, he and his assistant were amazing, super helpful, they go above and beyond for our pets.

It is simply the nicest vet clinic I’ve ever been to. The care is personable and detailed, the vet staff followed up with emails, and the facilities are outrageously beautiful for a vet clinic.
