Myself my husband and kids came from London for a weekend in Bristol and was told about a Moroccan restaurant and thought I'd come and support as a fellow Moroccan. Sadly the service from the owner was the worst I have ever encountered. She got my order wrong after waiting almost an hour for the food. Was told if I want the order I had made I would have to wait another 45mins which was fine by me. She didn't seem pleased when I said it was fine and was happy to wait. We proceeded to start to eat the dish she had gotten correct. Chicken Tagine. Sadly it was not what I was expecting being claimed to be authentic. It was watery, under seasoned and too lemon tangy. She then came over with bread we had ordered that was burnt to a crisp as in charcoal black. I sent my husband over to her to discreetly ask her for new bread as the bread she gave us was inedible. she proceeded to tell my husband it comes like that. At this point my husband had enough and asked to just pay and leave and not eat anything anymore. My husband then called me and the kids to leave the restaurant while he paid and the moment his contactless payment went through the owner proceeded to raise her voice argue with us and then said to us if we couldn't afford the food we shouldn't have come! Maybe this was due to my husband being black and her being a racist? My daughters left in tears! They are aged 2 and 8!! Additionally the restaurant smelt of damp and was dusty. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone who us a Muslim or to anyone who isn't white. Me and my husband have never experienced anything like this in our lives. Utterly shocked and disgusted. Keeps deleting my Facebook review!!

I attended this restaurant yesterday evening and enjoyed a lamb tagine (which I highly recommend) The host was extremely accommodating and polite as we had not booked, on a busy Saturday evening. We witnessed the disgusting behaviour of one customer towards the staff owner which had been totally uncalled, for seemed very intermediating and shocking as he proceeded to video her and quote allah at the top of his voice. I do hope she is ok. Me and my partner have been here a few times and have never had a bad experience the food and service has always been impeccable

So so good! Made up its back open after their holiday. Try calling if it says it’s booked online, they’re having trouble with the Google booking system. Food and service was amazing. Can’t recommend enough

I never write reviews but i must say it was the worst experience i had ever had. The costumer service was so poor. I also witness the owner arguing with other costumers, and the food was mediocre, not autentique at all. Never coming back thats for sure.

What a delight! Friendly, attentive service in a super relaxed, communal atmosphere. And the food was delicious, reminded us of our time in Morocco. Can't believe it's taken us so long to try Assilah as we only live round the corner - we will definitely go back to this local gem!

Definitely one of the best Moroccan food places in Bristol. The atmosphere here is incredible, the food literally melts in your mouth and the customer service was incredible. Very relaxed, chilled vibes and food was to die for. Would recommend for anyone wanting to try Moroccan food or looking for something different, be that experience or food wise. Definitely authentic, inspiring, genuine and welcoming.

It’s a β€žbring your own drinksβ€œ place, which was a new concept to us, so if you want beer or wine you should bring it yourself. We were happy with the offered mint tea though. The tajines looked fantastic and tasted great, though I could swear I tasted lamb in my chicken tajine. To me it did not matter, since it was still very good and beautiful to look at. Portions are more than okay and I would consider it cheap for the good quality of food. The dining room is lovely decorated and cosy. It was a relaxed environment. Friendly staff.
