Had sustained an extreme fracture to my ankle. After having been discharged the day before I was asked to return to the hospital with no instructions as to where to go and no aid in terms of mobility. Upon finally being seen I had my cast opened and injury inspected, the staff proceeded to try and send me home despite me not having a reliable way of returning the following morning for my repair surgery. After 5 hours of conflicting statements from multiple staff members I was placed in a side room for 2 additional hours with no information as to what was happening, I was then removed from the room with no aid in mobility and made to sleep in the A&E waiting area with my cast having been opened and my ankle exposed thus causing further damage to my injury. Overall the staff were rude, undisciplined, lacked any communication between one another and completely ignored my statements regarding the pain they had caused to my ankle when forcing me into the waiting room. This hospital needs a complete restructuring with better and more qualified staff in place to help avoid having others in my position sustain further damage to their injuries as was the case with me.

Iโ€™ve been visiting the Maxillofacial unit in the Elective Care centre at Aintree hospital for over 6 months now for treatment for tongue cancer. My consultant is brilliant. The radiology teams are excellent. I had a sentinel node biopsy done here and follow up ultrasound checks post surgery. The nursing staff are very good, although I prefer the team in the Haematology unit at the Christie hospital probably because I know them very well. The hospital itself is modern in parts. The elective care centre is quite new. There is good provision of disabled parking near to the Elective care centre both outside and in the multi storey car park. There is a coffee shop on the ground floor of the elective care centre.

Today marks the third time this hospital has saved my mum's life. Everyone here has displayed only the utmost kindness, professionalism and patience and the place is so damn clean that touching even a door handle feels like a crime ๐Ÿ˜. Huge thanks and respect to Alex and Kate in Critical Care.

I am putting a 1 star as there is nothing lower to choose from. We arrived at A&E at 11pm after a returned call from 111 who advised they had booked an appointment between 11pm - 12am. We where called to triage after 12am, we then sat until 6:15am in the freezing cold waiting area with no update and no information from staff while numerous other patients were seen even arriving after us. When we where eventually seen by the nurse we where advised that โ€˜111 canโ€™t book an appointment so this was not something we should have been advised ofโ€™ (inverted commaโ€™s using her fingers where used) an assessment was carried out we where then advised there was no X-ray or scan required and sent away with some anti inflammatoryโ€™s and painkillers and told to contact our GP if the issue persists further then a week. Poor communication Poor facilities Nurses shouting names once and returning to their assessment room Receptionist rude and unempathetic to peoples personal circumstances Considering there was โ€˜covid back in the hospitalโ€™ no cleaning or sanitising was being carried out in the toilet or communal seating areas

Had an operation here last week. All the staff are amazing, I was really nervous and the surgical team were so good with me. The staff on ward 28 are all lovely and really looked after me so well. Big thank you to them all, couldnโ€™t fault them!

The physiotherapy department here is well below Parr. There is no continuity of care, which means there is conflicting advice. Repetition of sharing of information from patient to therapist. There are a number of fresh out of university, inexperienced therapists treating patients. I had follow up from an MRI scan and was told that not much had changed in my joint injury. On requesting the scan I noted a number of significant changes. When I requested the report there was an element of condensation as it was assumed I would not understand medical 'jargon'

I attended the Endoscopy unit on Sunday 9th October. From the moment i arrived I was treated with respect and kindness. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was explained to me. The staff put me at ease and spent time making sure i was comfortable. I cannot thank the staff enough, I only wish I could remember everyoneโ€™s name to say thank you individually, but please know you are all appreciated xx

My husband unfortunately had to go to A&E today. The treatment he got was second to none. From the efficient receptionist to the triage nurse then to ECG then to the doctor. From there he was taken to AEC where again we were looked after From receptionist to ECG to Dr Showkat who left no stone unturned explained fully what was wrong and made my husband feel at ease until he gets further investigations. Thank you to everyone involved today

So I arrived there at 5 pm in the afternoon, being referred by my gp ,I've been seen by the triage nurse and after they send me to another gp in the hospital and even him didn't know but he ordered some blood tests and after he send me back to the e&a majors to wait to be seen by a surgeon to check my symptoms,at 12 o clock in the night they told is another 7 and half hours wait to be seen by the doctor ,I waited until 5 o'clock in the morning until I asked a nurse if its any update on my case when she check she told me that nobody notified them that I'm back in major trauma unit, and is no surgeon available that can see me but my blood test are fine and it's not appendicitis and she told me to wait to be seen by a a&e doctor and that I'm next on the list ,I waited for another hour nobody called.I ended up leaving a&e ,I'm still in pain at home ,nobody called me ,no update,no response. The place has no communication between departments,I asked couple of nurse's about an update through the night ,they were telling me they will check and it will inform me ,nut nothing happened. I'm still waiting to be contacted by a surgeon over the phone .

Ignored by triage staff who just talked over my head about pay rises, was seen by a doctor about two hours in who half way through told me his shift was finishing that I needed bloods asap and was top of the list for them. Almost 3 hours later when I ask whats going on I'm informed that he actually just put me back in the a&e queue (10 hour wait) so my first two hours waiting didn't count.

I attended A&E on Friday 3rd December. I had injured my shoulder. Triage nurse was great with me and reassuring. I have to pay particular tribute to the nurse practitioner who saw me in minors. Cath is her name. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Her patient and clinical skills are second to non and we ended up laughing during the consultation. She really helped me to feel at ease. Great to be treated as a human being and not just another patient to get through the system. I can't thank her enough. I hope she sees this review.

Have just come from a appointment with Dr Nair in rheumatology what a amazing consultant made me feel so relaxed and was so considerate . Years of persistent symptons and feeling at a loss he is giving it all to see what's going on for me and I can not express my gratitude to him also the nursing staff were fabulous they are all a credit to the NHS.

The hospital staff are helpful and hardworking. They are under a great deal of pressure and I have the upmost respect for them. However the hospital feels very much understaffed. Waiting to be seen in A&E for 9 hours is unacceptable. The visit was for my 16 year old. How can the NHS get to such a state..? Where is all the national insurance and tax going..? Because clearly I do not feel the benefits after paying 30 + years into the system.

I am in ward 21 podiatry, at this present moment in time I am not in a good way but there is no other place I would rats her be .from the surgeons down through the doctors and the nursing staff to the podiatry staff, a great bunch of dedicated specialists, I WOULD g recommend them. An update to my review I wrote *there is no other place I would rather be * there are no rats there. I forgot to mention the one surgeon who did all my operations, he battled for many months to save my right foot and it was successful, I may possibly have my left foot off and I have every faith in the surgeons here now .Mr Butcher has gone to live in Scotland now so good luck to you and your lady.

The staff are hard workers , even with about same number of patients in A&E in there and in the Royal hospital the queue works better in Aintree , they use all the rooms they had. The fist triage consultation is really quick. After all I think all UK need more hospitals infrastructure cause disent matter how hard working and efficient the staff could be a waiting time of 15 hours is just unacceptable.

Elective Care Operation - 07/11/23 I can't begin to thank the entire team who were just fantastic. Their outstanding professionalism & care are absolutely second to none. The operation as a day patient to insert grommets was explained to me in detail & my treatment following the procedure was first class. I would like to give a special mention to Paula my discharge nurse who walked me to the car park in between heavy showers when my lift home had difficulty finding the Elective Care Centre. She would give Florence Nightingale a run for her money! Thank you once again to Mr Swift & all his brilliant team for restoring my hearing too! X

Went to fracture clinic today the staff were all so friendly and patient even though could see they had so many patients to get through today, my daughter was with me and the lady doing ct scan got her involved and made my five year old feel like she was treating mummy like a nurse - made a horrible day for my daughter memorable. Thank you so much, I have my surgery tomorrow and although I'm scared I can't thank the staff enough for making our long day and wait bare able. (The receptionist at x Ray slightly annoyed me by audibly passing comment on how another mother had to bring her young children with her) I hope the fact I pointed out tht not all of us have someone to come with us and help was enough to make her think in future

I had an operation in October 2021, my consultant said that it was a straight forward operation that should not take long and I would be out of hospital either the same day or at worst overnight. The operation took 4 and a half hours and I spent 5 days in hospital with no explanation as to why. My consultant did not see me from the day of the operation until the day of my discharge. Another doctor said that he had read my theatre notes and the operation had not gone according to plan. When I got to the ward I had a PCA attached and a nurse asked if she could get me a priest. When I got home I complained about my treatment and Aintree hospital have just brushed it under the carpet I wasn't even allowed a follow-up appointment. I wrote a previous review and they refused to publish it. I just want the truth as to what happened to me during my operation but it looks like I have little chance of getting it. I have on going problems now from what was one of the worst experiences of my life.

While there are lots of great staff here, it seems the whole hospital relies on them and there's also a lot of poor staff who completely get away with really bad practice. No processes or training to make sure it's safe and caring. Never had a good experience here, always really bad mixed in with the great staff. Dealt really badly with my elderly father, made no allowances for his health problems and constantly told him off because he's physically unable to do things, and complained about him in a really nasty way to me, really upset both of us. Poor care that's left him with life long issues. Written him off without even explaining what it means for him and refuse to see him again. Same for my mum, caused her an infection when they refused to let her have basic hygiene when she asked, lasted for months and she was really ill. Really lazy about getting both my parents out of hospital, in a bed for no reason for weeks. Noone EVER picks up the phone, they pretty much refuse to talk to family. I call dozens of times before getting through, can go days without getting to speak to a clinician about family, bearing in mind the patients can't hear or understand about their own care, it's just really concerning.

WORST HOSPITAL EVER, I had a stroke several years ago managed to drag myself to hospital as it was only down the road from me, spent over 5 hours in a+e without seeing anyone before i got someone to take me home. complete waste of real estate, the staff are surly and do not listen to patients nor do they check on the poor sods stuck in there you check in and your left to your own devices. it would be more use to the community if it were demolished and turned into a hole in the ground. the only reason i give it one star is because you cannot leave NO STAR

Triage Nurse was very rude & condescending after I had explained I was medically evacuated from Spain with a broken Tibia & Fibula. She said "We won't do anything for you here you should come back next week" After getting my x-rays I saw a doctor in room no6, he was like a fish out of water & didn't listen to me when I explained I was in a lot of pain and discomfort due to my injury. Every question I asked he didn't know the answer he had to keep leaving to ask someone else. I had to beg for my cast to be changed as it was digging into my ankle bone which is broken, doctor too high up to do this, no one junior enough on duty to do this, pathetic. I was offered painkillers you buy over the counter which are useless with such an injury. The doctor couldn't see the fractures on the X-rays because I still had my Spanish cast on. I was then sent home and told to wait for a call. All in all a very traumatic and degrading visit to your A&E

I recently had the pleasure of receiving medical care at this 5-star hospital in Liverpool, UK, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of my experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made me feel welcome and at ease. The facilities are modern, clean, and well-maintained, with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Throughout my stay, I was consistently impressed by the professionalism and expertise of the medical staff. They were attentive, responsive, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met. In addition to the exceptional medical care, the hospital also offers a wide range of amenities and services to make the patient experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The food was delicious and nutritious, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and there were plenty of activities and entertainment options to keep me occupied during my downtime. Overall, I would highly recommend this 5-star hospital to anyone in need of medical care in the Liverpool area. The staff, facilities, and amenities are all top-notch, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Fantastic A+E staff, I was patient throughout and received brilliant medical assistance. Only a desire to take the moral high ground, when questioning a 2 HR wait for a doctor without stating they are dealing with emergencies you have already been apologised to because of. Then to get told you have an aggressive tone toward the doctor you were told was dodging you. Bit childish, but I'm sure training will clear this up. Well done Fazak. My dad was taken by ambulance to Aintree hospital following a fall at home and from the minute we arrived at A&E we felt safe and very well cared for, all of the staff were amazing and so caring from the ambulance staff, catering staff, healthcare, nurses and doctors they were all brilliant. Aintree hospital frailty unit is the most special place too with the most caring staff Iโ€™ve ever encountered Iโ€™m amazed!! I personally can never thank the whole team enough - my dad has Altzeimers and it is so difficult for someone with this condition to be in a hospital setting but Aintreeโ€™s frailty units expertise and genuine care for him has made the experience for my dad a positive one. I hope with ALL my heart that the nhs makes more units like this because without their genuine care, support and kindness Iโ€™m not sure where my dad would be xox

Be aware that if you've been an impatient and they are supposed to refer you for an outpatient clinic make sure they do. My 92 year old nan was discharged in march and was supposed to be refered to the stroke clinic. When I chased it up after being passed between 3 different dept was told it hadn't been sent. Even have a letter from a scan to say it hasn't been done. Despite informing them via phone nothing has been done. Good job it wasn't a major stroke she had eh

Been a frequent flier with Ward 16 and Ward one! The staff are the most friendly and caring staff, who genuinely care for all of their patients. You are never made to feel like an inconvenience and they go above and beyond with the care that they offer. If you gave an orthopeadic emergency, then you couldn't ask for a better Ward or group of people! Well done Ward 16! Also have to mention the incredibly hard working staff in A&E. Was in the department from 12.30am and didn't get moved till around 11pm, and even though they were absolutely rushed off their feet with patients queued up in the corridor, they were attentive and supportive throughout, looking for ways to make you feel comfortable at each point. I was also very lucky with the patients who were in with me, as laughter is the best form of distraction when in pain. Will never be able to think of CSI in the same way ever again!

This hospital although still a pretty old building is actually very good compared to the Liverpool royal in the city center, there are facilities, cleaned regularly, there are appropriate waiting areas and a small shop in the main waiting area, compared to the Liverpool city center hospital it is 1000% better, the staff are friendly for the most part other than a few erratic femail staff, but when staff can't get disciplined, fired for bad behaviour that does not fall under devient behaviour, they will do as they please. I do not appreciate staff turning around as the receptionist did and speak of you in the third person, then expect you to sit and be nice to her after her inappropriate behaviour. I speak up but NHS staff do not like being told, no do not speak to me like that. They will have you removed, often treating you like a child. Nope, I will not be spoken to or treated in a manor I deem inappropriate People go to hospitals because they are in distress, staff have to realise this and learn distressed people can be erratic in their presentation.

Do not let anyone you know or love come here. The most degrading awful experience, which I wouldn't let my pet endure. Dr Corrigan was particularly awful and can only be described as abhorrent person with no empathy to the care of her patients or their families. To note but a few examples of such experience; someone given weeks to live, told this information alone and not allowed visitors, missed out on food rounds, not given pain relief as prescribed, being told the same information in a heartless way, cancer nurse provided the wrong information, the dietician arrived a week late. The list goes on. Discharge was a joke, no care in the community in place, no communication with gp, no medication or pain relief given on discharge either. This hospital is rotten to the core and needs a complete overhaul from the top. No wonder the nurses are all bank staff and no one wants to work here.

The medical staff clearly care, but the nursing team is short-staffed, and the strain shows. There is too much for anyone to do: if I hadn't reminded the staff of the drugs I needed, I suspect I might not have received them on time.

Excellent care by the staff and extremely knowledgeable but let down by lack of equipment which is most likely the reason for high wait times. Another likely issue caused from upper management cuts. Staff dont deserve anything less than 5 stars though

I hear of excessive waits and un organized chaos running through the nhs Well om monday my local walk in centre advised me to go to a+e so off i popped to aintree hospital with the dread ofhour upon hourof waiting esp when seeing how busy the place was a+e was booming. I was struggling to speak properly part of why i was there but the girl at reception was so patient and kind with me i wish i took her name she was fantastic. I was nt waiting long before i was called to triage, the dynamic team who where working i found brilliant i found they dealt with rhe pressure and they dealt with me so efficiently amazed me. They had me in and out of triage within a matter of minutes but whilst that time had asked probed open for me to ask it was a short time but i would like to sit in a room just to watch them work together it was brillianr I ve been moved to one ward then another over the day any minor problems and i do mean minor have been dealt with well in a pleasant manner I have nothing but praise for the people who have looked after me I m not here with an overly complicated condition but one that needs to be treated quickly and in hospital If i could of gone to gp for my treatment i would not expect to be treated as promptly as unlikely to be an A or an E clue is in the name

I just want to thank Mr Mukherjee and his secretary Amanda for all they've done for my dad... The help and care they've given is more than the 5 Stars... We're truly grateful ๐Ÿ’›

The waiting times at this hospital are abysmal in nearly every department, waiting times are all at least 35 weeks when the legal maximum is 18. The staff I saw there were friendly but management seems to be pretty poor. Waiting times in the A&E are also absolutely pathetic (at least 12 hours). Waiting times for physiotherapy are also 36 weeks... what's the point in even having physio if you've gotta wait over 6 months? The NHS needs a massive overhaul.

My daughter has severe health anxiety and had to have an endoscopy this morning.. she has been a nervous wreck waiting for this appointment and this morning was in tears as I escorted her to her appointment, mainly because of peoples personal reviews about this test. Me having had numerous endoscopies had tried to reassure her but to no avail. However due to the absolute star of a consultant doing her procedure today, she managed to go through with it. That consultant will never know just how much his care and consideration will stay with my daughter for the rest of her life and hopefully allay any fears of further procedures. Thank you very much to that man, you have helped my daughter to no end โค๏ธ

What a wonderful hospital. The staff go over and above. Cannot fault the care I've received here. All the other reviews moaning about everything really annoys me. It's a very busy hospital so people have to park somewhere, hence the wait for parking. It's other people just like you parks Ng, so get over it!! If u don't like it get the house s or a taxi then. The NHS is amazing in the UK. This hospital is amazing, never had any problems at all. Some people moan about everything, nothing is ever good enough. Pay private then!! FANTASTIC HOSPITAL.

๐Ÿ˜ Staff where all grat but the hospital itself was a really awkward to mavigate. If it's your first time there, get there in plenty of time for your appointment. Lots of walking and trying to figure out the way.
