If you’re looking for standard Italian food that will not disappoint, Pizza Express is the way to go. The St. David’s branch is nice and well located. The staff is friendly and overall the service is good. I had the vegetarian pasta and the Pizza with mushrooms, which were both good. There is a 30% student discount which was nice. Just a basic Italian chain, certainly not the worst I’ve had!

When i asked the waitress if this is how tthe calzone is supposed to look like she checked with the chef, the chef said yes. Ive never had a calzone burnt to a wafer thin black crisp. She offered a replacement but thats the way the chef cooks it so did not see the point. It was gross and burnt so left it. My wife's vegan jackfruit pizza tasted weird, we couldnt put our finger on it though tbh. It was a clean and tidy restaurant and the service was good but the food was terrible. Would not recommend.

Very good pizza and even better service. I have been in pizza express on Friday evening. Restaurant was a little busy with a lovely atmosphere. Me and my partner really enjoyed our pizzas and the service provided by Andrea was absolutely spot on. We’ll be back very soon Thank you

We really enjoyed date night here. Our server (I think his name was Vinnie) was really lovely and very helpful. He was supper chatty, really smiley and efficient. Our food was delicious, very hot and really tasty. We hadn't been to pizza express in a long while but we were so glad we came here. We highly recommend the Diavolo and Calzone 'Nduja. It was really clean and nice and cool indoors. The manager working front of house was very polite and smiley too and it was nice to see a manager buzzing about helping the other staff which you normally don't see. We'll be coming again.

My wife, daughter, and I each ordered a carbonara pizza, although mine had jalapenos. It is, by far my favorite pizza they sell and is the only thin I order from them when we go.

Had a good pizza here. Service was good and the place was quiet and comfortable. Enjoyed the evening.

Pizza Express without a doubt to make excellent pizza bases sauces and the ingredients they use tend to taste simply excellent so no overall complaints. Howwever, my preferred Pizza Company in Cardiff is called the Cardiff Pizza Company they have a very small Store no front of house and do delivery only but they are excellent have deep gluten free and vegan options and are cheap. Sorry PizzaExpress I would definitely recommend your restaurant if somebody is going out and looking to enjoy pizza but at all other times the Cardiff Pizza Company must be my recommendation

I usually do not do reviews unless i need to warn people of our experience. Unfortunately, rude staff - Were discriminating and judging my partner, making rude comments to us about being vegan and something as simple as asking if they have ketchup and making a big deal out of it by clapping back inappropriately with attitude saying this is an italian place they dont have ketchup. Lack of respect for customers - should go back to the basics of good customer service. Wont be coming again

Food was expensive, portions were small, but the service was good. Really the restaurant just feels so run down and outdated.

Longish wait for food, we ordered a thick pizza and they brought a thin one. To be fair it was tasty but we waited so long we didn't want to send it back.

I was given a giftcard because I got married recently and decided to use it at Pizza Express (I've never been but my husband said it's really good). The food was utterly delicious (we got starters and then the most fabulous calzones) but more importantly the service was impeccable. Kasia was so bubbly and lovely, but also so attentive and made sure we could handle the nduja heat :) It was a great first experience in Pizza Express for me, especially because of Kasia and her generosity. Really grateful to her for being absolutely brilliant, we will definitely be back! Thank you from 2 newlyweds :)

I normally like Pizza Express. The food is decent and there are lots of offers to offset the slightly inflated cost. However, I wasn't impressed with the St Davids Centre branch. We had a voucher for a free starter, spoke to the waiter at the start, showed him the voucher and he said it was fine. We ordered and ate. At bill time they asked for the voucher code but the Internet had dropped out. The waiter was super unhelpful, only then told us the Internet was rubbish (it's Cardiff City centre!) and that if we couldn't get online then there was nothing he could do. It's only £6.99 but he saw we had the voucher, could have taken the code in advance. Or, if this is a common problem, just take off the starter. It seems like basic customer service. Instead, I feel a little bit conned. It's a minor issue but customer service is important in restaurants. This branch has none!

Sloppy guiseppe pizza is normally quite nice but this one felt like the ingredients had been withheld. Very little beef. Very poor. We only popped in for a quick bite to eat whilst shopping. Very disappointing

Didn't pre book a table. Waited in a small queue and then was seated. The person who seated us was very polite. The person who served us was very polite and hard working. The food was lush thanks!

No reservation but got a table on a late Sunday afternoon. Good service and Fiorentina pizza was good, egg yolk was hard though. Great loyalty scheme so got my side salad for free

Amazing gluten free options the prawns in garlic butter with gluten free dough balls were delicious! My pasta was delicious, food came out very quickly as did the drinks! Waitress was helpful very personable! Will be back soon.

Food is generally good. Very rarely they go a little nuts on the 'rusticness'. (i.e. practially no cheese on the pizza)

Very friendly waiter and manager, clean with good food, and didn't take long for the food to come. The childrens colouring activities and colouring pencils were more than enough to keep my eight year old son occupied. Tasty pizza as usual, would go again.

Fabulous meal and fabulous service... Called in early for lunch and there were plenty of tables but it filled up fast! Might be worth booking ahead if you really want to eat here. Can definitely recommend the Funghi Di Bosco pizza, stunning! And the meal deal for the little ones is also a great hit. Will definitely go back.

Came here with my boyfriend the other day, excellent food and very filling dough balls!! Good value for money, £52 for the two of us including drinks, starters, mains and a side!! Will definitely be returning. Service was outstanding too, our waitress was lovely and deserves a shoutout, I think her name was Menna. See you soon!

Booked a table with ease and recieved a very warm welcome. The hostess and server were very polite and friendly. Food was freshly cooked and tasty. Kids meals are very expensive; they should include a drink I would return but only as a treat as it's quite pricey.

Unexpectedly able to get a table on Friday 24th March. Staff were fantastic from the moment we sat down. New menu items were great. Overall experience 10 out of 10

Went into the restaurant for a meal before work and it was fab, my order was taken within minutes of being sat down. My drinks arrived within 2 minutes and I had my food within 10. Service and atmosphere was very relaxing and kind. Plus food is fantastic as always.
