Nice place to visit. Sadly no blooms when I visited today.

There are three main ponds in the Isabella Plantation, and two are heavily visited; the Still Pond is in a quiet area, away from the main paths. In late April and through May, the azaleas banked up around the pond are a profusion of mauves, reds and pinks, but even when this show is over this is a lovely area, and in summer the shade is really welcome.

Simply an incomparable paradise. If you happen to get a weekday evening in early May with decent weather you've hit the jackpot. Weekends it can get packed with people taking selfies in the same spot.

There is also a nice restaurant near the entrance with toilet facilities and for what I've seen, the food doesn't look...

👍 Small but nice area, the pond includes a fountain and is surrounded by a path with a foot bridge. Couple of benches are available, nice chance for a rest as the surrounding streets are quite busy. As you can see on the photos, there is no fence between the path and the water, so look after young chi...

👍 An irregularly shaped former 19th.Century gravel pit on the southeastern tip of Epping Forest and owned by the Corporation of London. Also the site of the long demolished Whipps Cross Lido, now the habitat of birds and ducks. The irregular shape and uneven grade makes for an interesting amble around...

👍 Nice scenery with ducks and swan. But not much parking space and the entrance is tricky
