Nice place to sit down on bench .

An important memorial recently adorned for this important time of year with Remembrance Sunday coming up. Kept in good condition to remember the many fallen whose sacrifice ensured peace for later generations with specific reference to our Commonwealth comrades too. Too easily forgotten in this digital age of distraction but a fitting tribute in the centre of a picturesque part of town. Worth a visit and a moment of reflection.

A service takes place on Sunday closest to Rememberance day, the forces conduct a parade down Ruislip high street to the memorial, benches are available to take a break, lovely place to sit and relax in summer.

A recent addition is two small concrete plinths either side of the path leading directly to the memorial. Noticed today that steel outlines of Infantry soldiers have been affixed to the plinths, as shown in the uploaded photos. Odd that the other services are not also commemorated.

The ultimate sacrifices that these local folk made for us to be able to enjoy today should never be forgotten and this fine monument goes a long way to doing this. God bless 'em all.
