The location is brilliant, just around the corner from the tube station, 2 minutes walk from Tower Bridge and really recommend walking to Maltby market for lunch or dinner- under-rated and far less crowded and touristy than Borough market. Really expected more from double tree though. The first room we were given clearly hadn't been hoovered, there was hair on the carpet and the chair and there was a fresh red wine stain on the carpet. The lady at reception was lovely and very apologetic and instantly offered us an upgraded room. Whilst clean, it smelt of damp and at 4am in the morning we woke up to water dripping through the ceiling. I appreciate that water leaks are outside the hotels control. However, the lady we dealt with this time at reception seemed very uninterested, said she'd log a request with maintenance and couldn't give us a new room whilst this was dealt with as they were fully booked. I returned to reception after half an hour to explain that it wasn't a small leak, the carpet was completely soaked. She rang maintenance and on arriving he was clearly quite surprised by the level of the leak and had to take the ceiling apart. He agreed we needed a new room and miraculously one was found despite the hotel being fully booked. This also smelt of damp but was thankfully hoovered and leak free. We were offered a free drink (limited to house wine and beer only) for the hassle of 2 room moves in just a 3 night stay. Lobby is nice but the 3 rooms I experienced were tired and in need of a revamp. Wouldn't stay again, wasn't worth the money.

This is our third room during a two night stay. First one had an insanely loud a/c so we requested a new one. Second was in an overall bad condition. Telefone was sticky, hairdryer didn't work, no bathrobes or slippers. It took the staff over 1h and me going down to reception twice to get us a new hairdryer as no one answered our calls. They told us someone would come soon to bring the missing robes. That someone never came and we stayed up until 1am waiting. Third one (pictures) was given to us as an excuse by the hotel management. It's a nice room and everything seems to be working. But it's not really worth it as we're here on a city trip so we won't use the TV/office room at all. Overall I'd expected more by a Double Tree as it's working under the Hilton brand and its price is not really cheap. Breakfast was also on the lower end of the quality scale. Location of the hotel is good though as it's very central and the nearest tube station is 1min away.

The most horrible check in process I have ever had at a hotel, and I stay at many. They made me sign things that implied charges without saying what the charges are. Tried to make my partner sign the same thing which we refused and had it escalated to the manager. The toilets in the room were almost unflushable. Kids would have no chance. We had to ask 3 times for extra towels and pillows. And then even though we hadn’t left the towels on the floor, they replaced them anyway. So much for caring about the environment. I won’t be staying here again.

Wow is this the hidden gem in the Hilton's plethora of hotels in London ? Ideally located near to Tower Hill tube, it was a welcoming sight after work. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday. A beautiful welcome from Noor on Reception, she was brilliant friendly and efficient. Great to be upgraded to a beautiful modern room. On the way to the room every member of staff made an effort to be welcoming and friendly please thank the housekeeping staff. We had a nice snack in the Executive lounge and the Rose wine was very acceptable, nice staff here too. The breakfast in the morning was great too, nice welcome friendly staff great selection and the omelette hot. We had a wonderful time including cake in the room to celebrate the birthday 🎂. Great location, brilliant service, a wonderful Hotel .....we will be back!! Thank you for the attention to detail you have a great team.

Positives: Great location in terms of walking to Tower Bridge and the Tube. Enjoyed the Rooftop bar. Staff was nice. Beds were comfy. Negatives: Bathroom was a little too small for my liking. Carpets were a bit dirty. Price was a bit too high for the room size / lack of view of the Tower of London

The location is ideal. We asked a room with a view and we got it! The room was clean but I m a bit disappointed in the bathroom. The shower gel holder and the bottle were, quite ironically, dirty. The bedding is very comfortable but the beds roll to easily. Overall it was a good experience and I recommend this place. The staff is nice. We didn't try the breakfast.

Would definitely not recommend this hotel! Booked this hotel for our anniversary and really regretted it. I had a better stay at other hotels and enjoyed everything. The service is poor, the communication between the reservation team and the hotel is poor! I wasted my money and time. Do not go to this hotel. As a Hilton member I would recommend other hotels compared to staying here. I was so disappointed and unhappy about the service provided and I mentioned this to the manager, they didn’t even try to rectify it they just asked for more money. Extremely disappointing!

My husband and I just checked out here at double tree Tower of London. First, we were upgraded to a suite which was a great surprise but the bed is a rock. It was the worst mattress I’ve ever laid on. I would have been better off sleeping on the floor. We are diamond members with over 100 stays a year. Then we order room service and was overcharged. Then upon check out we were overcharged 300 pounds for the room. We tried calling no one picks up. We missed our train and had a 20 pound taxi to take us back to fix the bill. The manger didn’t even have the decency to come out and address the issue. We are told to email him. What shotty and poor customer service. What a disgrace to the hospitality industry. 4 star rating is a joke!!!!! If I could give zero stars I would. Be sure to book a chiropractor if you plan to stay here!!!!

Location is great. Breakfast was really nice with a great selection. Service was very disappointing. We were booked in one night for business and one night extended for leisure however we had to go to reception after our first night to have our key refreshed. They asked for ID at that point, which we didn't have as we had just came down for breakfast. Then we were told we hadn't paid and therefore they couldn't refresh the key! What a fuss they made and they eventually found the payment. We received a wake up call at 12.30am that we did not request, both a knock on the door and a telephone call. The room was adequate and the bed was comfy however the bathroom is in need of upgrading with black mould on the silicon seals in the shower. The poor service spoiled the experience.

Booked this hotel for the location and the rooftop restaurant/bar. Amazing views from above with an outdoor patio which is hard to come by in London. Fun New Year’s Eve party! Rooms are standard and we needed to book 2 with our family of 4. They put a rollaway bed in one of our rooms which helped. The morning breakfast had many options. We also enjoyed the executive lounge for drinks and snacks. Also wine and beer in the evening. Very clean and updated hotel. Staff was excellent from the front desk up to the Savage rooftop bar! 3 min walk to the tube. 5 min to Tower of London. Priced well for the amenities and location. Highly recommend!

A good and comfortable place to stay at London. It's located in the heart of London near the Tower of London. So there are quite a few eateries around this place and it's located in a fascinating locale. The hotel is well equipped, modern and the buffet breakfast is just excellent in terms of both variety and quality. The room allocated to me this time was quite compact and too small to be comfortable. The service level of the staff is quite good though not exceptional.

Right across from the Tower of London and near the Tower Hill Tube Station. Very convenient. Lively staff. Simona remembered us from our last stay and made us feel like royalty! The rooms are spacious. Suites are the best but if you only have one or two people the standards are adequate.

Fantastic hotel, rooms have a high standard and the location is right by the Tower of London and Tower Hill tube station which makes getting into central very easy. Breakfast was top tier - full English buffet and good quality, makes such a good start to the day. Best thing by a mile was the staff, all so helpful and service with a smile doesn't even cut it! If you stay, ask to be on the top floor and you might get a view like ours!

Great Hotel, a little hidden away and took us a while to find it from London Bridge tube station. Very clean reception area, staff were friendly and courteous, the lifts were a bit of bind waiting for and covid nervous people in them meant waiting longer. The room was tidy and had a semi good view, the TV was on the wall wonky and the extractor in the bathroom was really noisy and whistled like something was trapped in it. Other than that the bed was comfy and wasn't too much noise from other rooms. Check out was easy and the baggage consierge was great touch as we weren't leaving London till later in the day. Enjoyed the stay, but not sure if I would stay again as the room was on a deal when booked.

Clean and spacey room. Good, comfort and cozy lobby area. Excellent location. Tasty food (room service). Poor supplies in the room, as a couple of water bottles, a refreshing drink, a chocolate bar and a pair of slippers would be great additions that could fit into the room pricing. Lack of mini bar with auto charge is also a minus, as well as this £5 tray charge.

We often stay in this kind of hotel and picked this one due to its location and brand. Hotel is easy to find and is very welcoming. Very spacious modern layout and a free cookie on check in. Check in was fairly quick although an issue with the booking did hold up the que a little. The issue was quickly sorted and key cards issued. Walking into the room was a pleasant experience although short lived due to a dirty used ice bucket being left. This was reported and quickly dealt with. However on leaving the room we were confronted by two police offices in the opposite room. Not a major issue as they were professional and keeping things quiet but further along the corridor a very strong smell of cannabis was evident. A change of room and floor was requested and facilitated promptly. Morning breakfast can be busy and you may have to wait to be seated but this happens in many hotels. The breakfast was the standard self service with a good selection of hot and cold food. The restaurant was clean and tidy even at a busy time. Overall the hotel and staff (especially on the front desk, sorry didn't get your names) was great as a London get away. The hotel has a small underground car park operating on a first come first served basis but caution is needed when parking with a low car as some of the bays have fold down bollards which can foul on the underside of the car(as I found to my peril. Would I stay again......yes I would if I was in that part of London

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. This web site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This place is one of my favorites in this area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't regret it. Staff was great. Got a couple drink vouchers when we checked in with some fresh cookies. The lady assigning us was very nice. We asked for a couple adapters since UK uses different outlets on a deposit so we returned them when we checked out. Breakfast was good. Reserve the rooftop restaurant when you check in. Super popular spot and the views are great.

Really amazing service Breakfast was great Staff were helpful Abdul the receptionist was really exceptional The staffs are well trained and were polite at all times. The front office teams are the best👌 The location is perfect and view from the executive rooms are beautiful I think the TV in the room should be allowed access for screen mirroring or smart phone connections. Would have appreciate YouTube on or Netflix. We were told the executive lounge serve food all day but apparently there are time schedules. The overall service was amazing anyways. Thank you to the entire staff and management. We will definitely come again

Fabulous hotel which is well located for business and tourism. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The staff in the Exec lounge are extra special. Always smiling and welcoming. The Hilton Honors app with the ability to have a digital key and avoid check in/ check out is brilliant. I have stayed here on multiple occasions and it is one of my favorites in London.

Did not have money worth experience. 1. Paid for King Suite but received 2 single beds combined as King. Each bed is set individually. Had to squeeze into one. Called the reception night and was told to come back morning to report. 2. Room change accepted as it is a mistake by the hotel. I left morning and was told the room will be ready by 3pm and my luggage will be moved. I came back after a long tiring day evening at 5/6pm and no room allocated. Was asked to wait and the room was done. 3. Waited in the room for an hour for the luggage but have not arrived. Had to call and ask then they details asked and brought in. 4. Kettle and drinks were kept in a drawer of a table. Very unlikely. This was not informed as cups and plain water kept visible. 5. The breakfast hot drink is self-service through the coffee machine. Only 2 machine and 1 not working. The other one takes literally 5-10 minutes for 1 cup of drinks.

I had an amazing stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Tower of London. The location is perfect, with iconic landmarks just a short walk away. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the views of the city were stunning. I also enjoyed the delicious dining options on-site. Fantastic APP customer experience to do the check in and get a digital key! I can’t wait to return to this fantastic hotel!

Really nice hotel, situated in a great location. Tower of London is a 5 minute walk away. We had a king room and the view was a side street, however the room was spacious, with comfy bed and small but modern bathroom. All the staff were very friendly and a special shout out to Pedro the night manager who helped us with a minor plumbing issue in the room at 11 at night! Check in and check out was smooth and I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting The City or The Tower of London

Absolutely love this hotel. I stay here every time I come to London for work. Great location. The staff is wonderful! When I stayed here last month my flight got in early and I asked if they hopefully had a room ready I could get into but wasn’t expecting they would. Thilan was wonderful and gave me a warm cookie and sorted it out. Fabulous service! The breakfast is also incredible. Highly recommend.

Position is great, but the rooms are lacking any imagination. Plus as a resident we still had to book for a table in the roof top bar unless we waited for a free table. Breakfast was good and overall the hotel is worth it for the potion alone.

We had a complication with another reservation and ended up at this hotel & I am so grateful! Service was excellent. Rooms were fabulous. The location was very close to Tower of London, underground and pubs. Very safe, clean. Can't say enough good things. Beautiful roof top bar. Have already recommended this location to friends.

Fabulous hotel, great location. Ten minute walk from Tower of London, Tower Bridge etc. We had a king size room which included a huge and very comfortable bed, the room overall was a very good size and included usual facilities (tea, coffee, iron) . The hotel has a roof top bar which we enjoyed in the very warm evenings! Have stayed here before and would definitely stay here again!

Upon arrival you can see the level of cleanliness and a ‘posh’ vibe of the Reception, bar/lounge area. Check in did not take long at all, was a smooth process, and we were handed a cookie each (free food is always a bonus!). Once we got out the lift to the floor our room was located on, we felt like we were in a different hotel. The two seats and table by the window on the floor by the lifts was covered in coffee, and wasn’t pleasant. However we didn’t need to exactly sit there, was just an observation! (Shame some guests think the sun shines out their backside enough to not clean up their mess themselves …). We eventually found our room, it was probably the longest journey from lift to room we’ve ever made. There was a large space near our room which looked like it may have been lifts before but had been sealed up with wall? I don’t know, but it was definitely a space that would be perfect for a lift ! The room was a Queen Room, so we assumed we would get a Queen bed. However it was just a small double. This was a little disappointing, but maybe I should’ve checked the features of the room before booking. The bathroom had no bath, just a shower which was a decent size. Shower pressure was lovely , not the best we’ve had but was nothing to complain about. The sink and shower took ages to drain, it almost flooded the bathroom before it decided to drain. And we made sure there was nothing blocking it such as the plug not being the wrong way round etc. Bed was firm but comfy, however the pillows definitely need to be slightly firmer as it felt like there was no pillow once your head was on it, and that’s as with 2! (although I know science says to sleep without a pillow so maybe this is there reasoning). View from the room wasn’t great, but could see the shard from our window. Carpet, furniture etc was very outdated compared to the modern, posh looking decor and flooring downstairs in the lobby. Staff are all friendly, wearing masks. You are told to tell reception if you need your room cleaned or anything like towels and bed made, otherwise no one enters your room - we felt this was refreshing and liked this idea! However, we were not told that you have to let reception know by midday. This is a good time for sure, but as we weren’t told we were 6 minutes too late on one of the days and so our room wasn’t cleaned. We felt 6 minutes was a little harsh but we didn’t complain at the time as it isn’t Receptions fault. The hotel is literally a 2 minute (if that!) walk to the Tower Bridge underground station, this was a plus! So easy for us to get around London, we went all the way to Kingston Upon Thames on one of the days, super easy to get around! Would stay again!

Nice, clean, modern hotel. Great location. Rooms are comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the breakfast. It's a buffet style with lots of choice but the eggs were cold. Hopefully this was a blip. I would stay here again.

I would return and recommend. Paramount location hotel with good rooms. Breakfast was good, with an acceptable variety but could improve a bit - more diversity within days. AC sound on rooms is slightly noticeable but not unpleasant, however, for persons with light sleep might be uncomfortable.

  • 5/5 M Y. 2 years ago on Google
Good price. Good location. Good hotel overall. The check-in queues can be rather long at times, however, we used the digital checking which negated standing in the queue (so worth getting the app., IMO) The executive lounge was open, which is great. It was not as good as pre-Covid, however, it was open at least. My only slight comment was that there was no soft drinks except from water, although they did get my son a Coca-Cola on request. (Ford / Alcohol from 18:00 -20:00 - but best to double check timings). The fridge in the room was not stocked (although was advertised as so when I booked) they said this was due to Covid. Not really a big issue, as I used the lounge; and you get the usual cookies and water on arrival. The room itself was clean and seemed well insulated, I didn’t hear much noise from the neighbours or the corridor. The bathroom was in very good condition. I would recommend this hotel, and stay again, based on this visit.

The staff deserve 5 stars. Everyone is really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, I didn’t really have warm water, making it a bit uncomfortable showering. The location is good you want to crash for a night after a long flight etc. the shuttle bus, running every 30 minutes to and from the airport is definitely a plus. Unfortunately, shops are a little far away, about 600m. Breakfast is tasty and offers sufficient choice a l carte. I think normally they’re serving buffet style breakfast but because of sanitary measures regarding Covid this isn’t possible right now. Price/ value for money doesn’t exactly match. I find it a tick too expensive for the overall package.

Nice hotel, restaurant was great for evening meal. Used the sky bar and lounge but the executive lounge was too packed. I think the only thing I would have picked up was Covid. So left and went to another lounge. Rooms are nice but basic. Close to city/tower bridge/tower of London obviously.

My husband and I stayed 8 nights for our daughter's graduation. Our executive king room and bedroom on the 10th floor was plenty spacious for a couple on a week long stay. I absolutely cannot fault the cleanliness of our room. The bathrooms were always immaculate. We were so happy to stay at a property that had daily cleaning during this pandemic. There was a bit of a wait at the front desk at all times of the day. A long wait to check in after an overseas flight is tough, but I am going to chalk this up to the busy holiday season. The breakfast area was also very busy for certain times of the morning but this was never a problem. We always got seated in short time. The breakfast buffet selection was also huge, varied and delicious! This location was absolutely perfect for us. It is close to both Tower Hill Underground and DLR stations and so convenient to travel to anywhere in the city. We were also able to walk to restaurants in both St. Katharine Docks and The Shard for dinner. We loved our stay.

Absolutely loved it, by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in, luxury at its finest, Every part of the room was clean and sanitised as expected and staff were very helpful and on hand for anything I needed, would definitely stay again

Lovely, warm hotel with helpful and friendly staff who are eager to make you feel special. Big thank you to Henry in reception, whom thought I looked lonely waiting for friends and appeared before me with a cookie! Give that man a raise for his observation skills and kind heart!

First class stay and location. We would definitely go again on our next London trip. Don't use the ATM at the lifts though. Was doing what every other ATM in the world does til it didn't. No cash from the machine but it was taken from my bank account. NOT the Hotels fault but the fault of the ATM company. Otherwise first class stay.

Stayed here for a small conference. Clean rooms, helpful staff. Rooms are small but efficient. Great TV setup. The rooftop garden is amazing. We got cookies on arrival - always a nice touch. Good value for the location.

Second time visiting London and appreciated how this hotel was centrally located. Staff was fantastic. Every time we had an issue, it was quickly addressed. The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was delicious, and I loved the access to the tube station. But what made this hotel a standout was how the staff prioritized our needs.

  • 3/5 Fahd Q. 2 years ago on Google
Great location. Poor service. We were looking forward to our stay. The hotel has a great location. Staff are polite, helpful when engaged. However I have had to exhaust a lot of energy to get my room cleaned and refreshed. And promises made by staff are not kept. For example, staff asked to clean our room at an inconvenient time, and reassured us they would return an hour later, only for our room to be in the same state we left it. I do not think this is intentional, but I think management need to reflect on how the service can be improved without customers needing to exhaust so much time or energy for the most basic service of any hotel. Also improved recall systems to ensure staff don't forget to refresh rooms. Otherwise its a good location, with friendly and helpful staff. They need to tighten up on some of their processes to ensure a smooth service I have stayed in numerous hotels, I would say my service experience has been poor in contrast to other hotel stays. Otherwise I would have given 4 stars in the absence of suboptimal service.

Location was great and some staff very attentive, room was comfortable. Disappointed with desk service - huge queues for check in and you cant call because they don't answer the phone. Huge queues to lifts and breakfast. Bathroom was not the cleanest- quite a lot of hairs when we arrived. Overall a comfortable stay but would not stay again and would not say 4 star quality.

Friendly and attentive staff. They really made the visit for us and we're really helpful and kind. Definitely get the breakfast included if you stay here, it's a continental breakfast and the number of options are amazing! The on-site restaurant (Natural Kitchen) is great too and the food was truly excellent. Nice selection of cocktails and they do happy hour! Don't forget your own toiletries, the standard hotel provided ones are not good but the bathroom was clean and the shower easy to use. We stayed in a standard queen room and the room was clean but nothing particularly exciting about it. The television channels were very limited and I couldn't connect my phone (I have a Google pixel). There was an iron, kettle and hairdryer in the room (hairdryer is not good, would recommend taking your own if you have space in your luggage). Beds are comfy but very firm so be mindful if you like a squishier mattress. There was a nice selection of tea and coffee available in the room on arrival and water bottles had been provided too. There aren't any stairs unless you use the fire exit so waiting for the lifts was sometimes a bit lengthy but lots of people shared lifts with face masks on so it wasn't a problem. Overall, a very nice hotel located really conveniently near Tower Hill underground station. Lots of food and drink options nearby and easy to grab a taxi from there to larger stations. Great view of the Tower of London too.

I spent three nights there and was delighted with the hotel views, the helpfulness and kindness of the staff - nothing was too much trouble, the amazing selection of breakfast and the stunning location. The hotel staff were really nice especially the check in desk for their excellent and agile service, even though they were quite busy when I arrived. I loved the flower arrangement in the common areas. The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. I'll definitely go back.

The staff!!!! Hospitality with a capital H. From check-in to check out and everything in between it was amazing. The people at the counter, the janitor, in the restaurant, bar, everyone was extreme friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is nice, good location, rooms are everything you need, continental breakfast is good and the staff!! Did i mention the staff? :) Another thing what i really liked is the option not to have cleaning for a day (with a refund). It makes you aware that daily cleaning is not always necessary. I found my future hotel whenever i come back to London!

Initially had an issue with checkout but then, I had the great luck of running into Lee Mills at the counter before I departed. In high tourist areas, some hotels tend to brush off guest issues because of high foot traffic but Mr. Mills was an attentive listener and he was able to resolve my issue in a mutually calm and respectful manner. I chose this location for its price and location. Great value and the breakfast was great. I would recommend it. Extremely close to major train lines that can take you inside and out of the city. I'm also a fan of the robes that are included in the room and the cookies upon entry. One of my favorite snacks. I've been around the world and I can recommend this hotel for any type of traveler. Hopefully you run into Lee Mills.

Awesome hotel and amazing staff! The hotel is very well situated( barely a two minutes walk from Tower Hill underground) and with lovely views over famous London landmarks such as the shard, gherkin and Tower bridge. The room was lovely and clean. Special mention to Anna, from Brazil, at reception for her great hospitality and welcoming attitude; thank you for making my stay so great! Definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely clean room and the hotel is really nice. The staff are really friendly and great drinks at the hotel bar. Only thing that stopped me giving this place five stars was one of the staff rudely coming in when I was getting dressed despite me telling her I was doing so after she knocked so please can she wait a minute. But for the most part it is a great hotel otherwise and I would definitely stay here again if I was in London.

I stayed here for a week and I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the fact that on 2 occasions they did not replenish the coffee and they only left decaf. The executive lounge is nice with a good selection of wine however there is only Budweiser on tap so a better selection would also be nice. But overall very nice. Breakfast is also good.

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. They compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be let down.
