Looking for a coffee shop in aldgate, and this came highly recommended. The coffee was very good, and I had a tumeric latte, which was also very good. A huge selection of pastries and savory food too. The staff were friendly and chatty too

I would highly recommend this cafe to locals and tourists. The dishes were tasty and large portions, easily shareable between two people. The pastries and tea were also good. When we had questions about allergies regarding one of the teas, one of the owners, Eddie, came out to help us. He was so friendly and even offered us recommendations of other nearby places to check out during our visit. So appreciate his hospitality! Overall, an excellent business in Aldgate East that’s worth a try.

Cute cafe, with nice interior. They had a great selection of bakes and pastries which all looked amazing. I ordered the porridge, from a very extensive menu. We had to wait around 40 mins for this to come (although I think there may have been some confusion in the kitchen with our order as everybody else’s food seemed to be coming out). When it came it was good but nothing amazing, it seemed to be more like ready brek porridge rather than jumbo oats, and it was drenched in honey. My friends however, said there food was nice, however probably wasn’t worth the wait. That being said the coffee was very good and would return to try some of the pastries.

My friend and I visited a bakery nearby which was super popular so we made sure we got there early. We were initially planning to try Grounded after the bakery but the queue was extremely long and it was only 11 in the morning! So as a back-up plan we came here instead and wow, I must say the food didn't disappoint! Firstly, we didn't have to wait in line even though it was basically full - we managed to snatch the last available table next to the kitchen. We didn't realise there wasn't any table service and were getting frustrated why no waitresses approached us to take our order so it was our bad. But one of them nicely told us when we asked so it was all good. We were feeling something sweet so we ordered the French toast and buttermilk pancakes with fruits and crème fraiche on the side, as well as syrup. The French toast was so light, airy and fluffy, not heavy at all and was very tasty with the strawberry jam on top along side all the toppings we already had - I absolutely loved it! The pancakes on the other hand were fluffy and what I especially liked was the crusty sides, it's rare to find those in cafés so my friend and I both enjoyed the food very much. Overall, we had a lovely brunch here and would definitely love to come back to try their pastries and baked goods at the counter - they all looked amazing!

We have found the shop through maps, being the shop being among the best reviewed in the area for this category. Over 4 days we tried most of their sweet options and every time we were pleasantly surprised. All the food was incredibly tasty and balanced and never disappointed. The quality of the service was also excellent, although we only had the chance to interact with Manuel, a cheerful Italian guy. We suggest to give this place a try!

Absolutely amazing breakfast. Highly recommend the French toast. Great coffee too, enjoy sitting outside on a warm day. Quickly little cafe, always try and pop here on a day in London. 10/10

A hidden gem! The place doesn’t have any signage but the smell of the freshly baked items wafts through the air as you walk by. The food is outstanding and the coffee is meant to be even better. The chicken is halaal and the variety is immense! Their toasted baguettes are a must try. The staff are super friendly, particularly Olla who is very chatty. I would highly recommend.

Passed by this cafe along Whitechapel road and was attracted by the beautiful display of pastries in this Exmouth Cafe. Ordered English Breakfast set and found that the sausages are beef, which could be due to presence of large community of Muslim here. Food is great and coffee is good - service is friendly despite the busy environment .

Cosy breakfast shop with ample choice. Coffees were very good. Breakfast was freshly prepared and was tasty, also tasty lactose-free options available. Only drawback is the cramped entrance hall when crowded. Ordering has to be done at the counter, which caused huge crowds.

First time coming here was in 2015, and then several times when I lived in Mile End area. After six and a half years not coming back to London, I’m glad that this little cafe is still here with the same good vibes, and most importantly, the food is as good as what I tasted in 2015. 😋

Without exaggerating, the best french toast I have ever had. Unbelievably soft & flavorful. We came a second time just so we could each get our own instead of splitting! This cafe became a quick staple in our short London trip, and we miss it already -- so so many delicious options we would have loved to try!

We had originally planned to visit elsewhere on our visit to London, but with traffic coming into London - we were starving! Exmouth Coffee Co was only a stones throw away from our hotel so we thought we'd stumble in - can absolutely confirm the breakfast and pancakes were amazing! Plus point - the food is halal!

We were planning to have a breakfast in the other place nearby but there was a huge queue there. So we decided to go to Exmouth and we are happy we did! Our breakfast was amazing. Delicious food, great coffee, lovely staff, very pleasant atmosphere. What else is needed?

A decent restaurant with good flavors and reasonable prices. It's not overly crowded, and you don't have to wait long, but overall, everything is quite ordinary, lacking distinctive elements. Still, it's not bad.

I got in because the window display looked very appealing and rightly so. Brazilian lady behind the counter was very polite and helpful to choose a bag of coffee beans as a Christmas gift. Got a free coffee with that too. Definitely planning a breakfast there.

Best coffee shop I have found in my last two visits to London, try it and will never be disappointed - cool staff and great taste of food and of course coffee

A small but decent coffee place. Staff were polite and helpful, offering a wide variety of drinks and snacks such as cake, muffins and cookies that are prepared in house. Plenty of seating despite being quite a small space and bathrooms downstairs are nicely kept. Well worth stopping in for a break.

Quite a busy café, seating is cute and small, would recommend the breakfast bread is fresh. However I asked for croissant with chilli smashed avocado and they weren’t willing to take the order as it wasn’t on their menu. So I ordered sourdough and chilli smashed avocado. A little disappointed but food tasted good. The chilli had no heat so it was a little bland. Probably wouldn’t come again, but I would recommend it.

Weird energy but great pastries. This place has a weird energy but wonderful sandwiches and pastries. The music was all over the place and it was kind of cold inside leading half the people to keep their coats on, while the other half put their wet stuff over their laps or on the floor. Creating that chaotic energy you see in common rooms at universities. Our drinks (chai and a latte) were good but the pastry was a bit burned. Cute place but not somewhere to become a regular unless lawful chaos is your vibe.

Cute little coffee shop with local charm, apparently an Aldgate mainstay. Lots of variety and choice, everything looked pretty fresh. Service was average. Flat white delicious. The lemon and polenta loaf was a bit dry/crumbly and not very moist, but still decent.

Coffee was good but the lady at the front desk was extremely grumpy and pushy. Didn’t give us a second to check the menu when we walked in.

Very nice experience. This is in the middle of the city just by Aldgate East Station so not a pretty location but the inside of the cafe is really nice. Breakfast was excellent and well presented.

When I find good coffee, I keep going back. The coffee here is great. Fabulous selection of sandwiches and pastries on display. The staff are very friendly. Enjoyed my shakshuka this morning! It will set me up for the day.

Delicious coffee! I only have 1 cup of coffee in the morning sometimes, about 2-3 times a week. But now I have it every morning, ever since discovering this brand. Buy a pack of their ''Community Blend," coffee beans. You need a grinder! You'll definitely enjoy this coffee. Good quality and such a refreshing taste!

Ok, bit of a hidden gem this one. Great homemade items ranging from poached eggs on sourdough, to quiche, to cookies. Good coffee. Seats have a partial view of the busy kitchen. My only slight niggle was the seating, whilst visually on point for the aesthetic "rustic/industrial" were a touch uncomfortable. But the food was great, so it gets an easy 5 stars.

I’ve spent the entire coronavirus time trying to find the best coffee places across the city - I stumbled across this place and had to leave a review! The cappuccino foam was perfect (on both the dairy and non dairy options), it didn’t suddenly bubble or collapse, the density and the milk-coffee ratio was done to perfection. They were a good big size and looked beautiful too. Out of probably 50 coffee shops I’ve tried in London this one is in my top 5 for sure! Haven’t tried the food but it all looks great, I do think more vegan options could make for a great improvement to their menus. Some simple changes could accommodate this in the dishes they already have. But the quality of service and produce is top notch.
