I booked pizza express for my partners birthday assuming that jazz was included. But stupidly I hadn’t booked tickets. Arrived to a packed night and the staff were incredible and found us a table right at the front! Nothing felt to much trouble even though they were clearly manic. Lovely service, great jazz and atmosphere. Thank you Pizza Express staff your effort to go above and beyond is greatly appreciated.

Launched the London Jazz festival at PizzaExpress Live (yes, a pizza shop with a jazz concert in the basement!). We enjoyed a delightful performance by Emma Smith and the Sam Every Big Band. Since it's part of the London Jazz Festival, their songs were all about London. Emma was an incredible entertainer, and Sam and the band showcased exceptional talent. One of the best jazz performances I've experienced. Plus, their pizza was amazing!

Saw Ian Shaw with Madeline Bell. A great night entertained by 2 great talents, and Pizza Express is a quality venue. We were a table of 9 and had first class, attentive and friendly service from our waitress (Aida?) and I cant speak highly enough of her. All in all, good food, great service and a fabulous entertaining evening in a quality venue

Went to see Brian Simpson & Co, a smooth jazz event with 2 friends of ours downstairs, music was excellent, if that's your bag tho!! Food was good service good, a little cramped for my liking, it's a cozy and personal sort of place, we're from Worcestershire so not used to London prices, but would definitely recommend a visit, this is the second time we've been, so can't be that bad 😉

Found this place by sheer chance whilst searching live venues in Soho. You enter the club via stairs leading to the basement behind the main Pizza Express restaurant. Inside is an intimate jazz club, almost from an old film. In fact I felt as though I was back in my favourite jazz clubs off NYC. There is a small stage, with intimate tables and cute red velvet booths in a dark and moody club. The menu is obviously all Pizza Express and very nice. The cocktails were delicious. The staff were very attentive and always available to take orders. The band were great! Will definitely be returning, and also planning to visit their piano bar in Covent Garden.

An amazing Saturday night watching Ian Shaw. Had dinner upstairs before but you can also eat whilst watching. Such a great atmosphere, really diverse crowd, highly recommend as a place to take visitors/a date/friends. And pretty sure they have entertainment every night of the week. Will be back!

Absolutely LOVED this jazz club and couldn’t believe it was under a pizza express in central london! We paid £15 for tickets each and got hours of amazing live jazz. Of course you also have access to the great pizza express menu as well. Olives come free with drinks, and then pizzas are great for sharing.

Soon as we were greeted we were asked if we are staying long even though the place was at less than 50% capacity and pretty quiet. We got a rushed impatient impression from this older male waiter who wanted to get the order as soon as possible without any polite greeting or even smile. The food was quick and tasted great, shame the place was incredibly hot and lacked air con on such a hot day though. The atmosphere was calm and didn't get busy in the time we stayed and we stayed for over an hour, it actually took us a while to get the bill and then pay considering how rushed we felt when we entered the place. Wouldn't come again due to service which is a shame. One young waitress seemed sweet who brought the food.

It was just a decent experience. Ordered a veg pizza I don’t exactly remember the name but it was like okish. Mushroom was decent too. Dough balls were really nice and spicy and served the purpose. We also ordered couple of juices and hot chocolate that too was decent. Overall: 6/10

Lovely little restaurant. Food was really tasty, cocktails were delicious. Service was a little slow, but the staff were very friendly. Would recommend — very nice in the summer with large double doors that open giving fresh air and lots of light.

Absolutely incredible. I think everything can be made gluten free. Comes on a separate colored tray to make sure. Perfect for #coeliac #celiac #glutenfree . Amazing!

Visited Pizza express yesterday. Loved the atmosphere and the food. Carran the waiter, was exceptional with his service and was super friendly to everyone. His attentiveness and accuracy really makes him stand out from other waiters I’ve encountered.

Our first time to this Jazz club underneath Pizza Express. Arek our waiter was perfect, looked after us well and got everything efficiently with a smile. I've always loved the classics on Pizza Express' menu but tried the more barbecue oriented burnt-ends grilled beef pizza. Went well with Picpoul wine. The music room is a perfect size and tables are sufficiently spaced. Nigel Price Organ Trio was on great form - "Oh God" - in a good way.

It's a Pizza Express, so expect that level of food, but downstairs they have a decent jazz club. It is great to get reasonably priced food and catch some good music. In our case we saw Pangaea, a great young band. Nice atmosphere to this place, decent sound, and service. Entry was free! It is with keeping an eye on this place as seeing some great music for the price of your food and drink is a fabulous way to have lunch.

Food was mediocre but the staff was nice and the place is cozy. Four of us ate for 60£ so the prices are reasonable

Great show and music from Ian Shaw and friends! Was it the best pizza I've ever had, no but the atmosphere and live entertainment is what you go for.

The food you know and love with live Jazz whislt you eat, Martin Taylor was fantastic. Really great atmosphere. The music played for just over an hour and a half, service was smooth whilst the music was playing and payment taken after the performance is over.

very good restaurant which serves good dishes. I tried the lasagna which was really delicious. the atmosphere was great, all the servers get along well with each other and it makes you want to eat in a good mood. I recommend 100% especially with the server Angel who gave us an incredible welcome 😇

Spag bol was average, on the bland side actually. Broccolis were burnt and tasted like charcoal. Service was poor. Old Asian lady had poor customer service skills, no smile or warm welcome, didn't offer me a table/seat so stood there awkwardly after she saw me, and the just went ahead and sat myself down, felt like I was intruding..! After the food came, there was a huge leak from the windows and ceiling! Water splashed into my food, dress, onto the floor, and behind me, it was raining on the table! Is this venue even safe?? To top it all off, I was charged a service charge. Lol. What a joke of a business.

We are regulars to pizza express customers and to be honest , I have to recognise this was the best experience we had. The atmosphere was brilliant , the restaurant looks great, the food was tasty ,the stuff was super and what about the service! Just amazing from a server called Angel, so caring and always keen to help with a smile on his face. Brilliant!

Overlooked this as a jazz venue and was blown away by the quality of the music being proper jazz that didn't panda to being safe in their song choices. Service was great and the food was decent. Only criticism were the drinks selection being a little limited and the cocktails were overly sweet and lacking strength. Will certainly return as the music was quality.

What an amazing experience. We booked a early so were lucky to sit right in front of the band, who were brilliant. Despite the music the staff did a great job of serving us and the food was very good. A really brilliant night

The Liane Carroll/ Ian Shaw gig was simply astonishing. Such rapport and artistry was an honour to witness. The ambience is great but unfortunately we didn't have a great experience with the food, however that didn't spoil the overall event. Perhaps we were unlucky, we'll definitely return.

I went for a special jazz related afternoon in the basement. My first visit. Absolutely excellent. Great service from waiting staff, from the beginning to end of our afternoon. Tables just about far enough for everyone to be socially distanced. Waiting staff had masks, not always fully pulled right up. Most diners not wearing masks. It is still a matter of personal choice, and I was comfortable with that. Food was Pizza Express menu which is pretty good. Plenty of salads, healthy eating choices, delicious pizzas, starters sides, and tempting desserts. The house red wine was pretty good with depth and flavour, once it had warmed up a bit. We changed from sparkling water to tap water without causing comment. The ladies toilets were clean and tidy and obviously checked on a rota. Very important to me when I'm out. A very pleasant, friendly atmosphere, great place to have some time out.

This is pizza express flagship restaurant offering live Jazz in the downstairs room. £25 per ticket to watch and there is table sevice while watching the band.

Perfect meal and company at Pizza Express Dean Street London. My sister has allergies which can be difficult but the waitress went through the menu and allergy folder with her without a second thought. She was so very kind and helpful. We met the manager when we wanted to pass on this compliment and he too was very appreciative of the great feedback. The meal was so tasty and delicious. I think people spend so much time complaining about this and that but very rarely do we spend time being grateful. We were certainly so very appreciative of the quality and values of this team of people at Pizza Express. Keep up the great work. Thank you

The pizzas were good. The waitress behaviour I felt was discriminatory. No greetings, no olives oils provided, no glasses and water on the table. (a few guests who arrived after us had been served all these). She didn’t seem to be pleased with our presence.

Food was good and always is. But very disappointed that the toilet bowls were brown due to non use of bleach. Would expect this in a public toilet on the high street, but not at at a restaurant. Also not happy with the positioning of our table. I was literally sitting next to a wall/pillar and it dug into my arm enough to leave an impression

The blonde waitress is a legend. She made us feel so welcome. Lovely ambience and lovely setting right in the heart of Soho with the gentle sound of jazz from the floor below adding to the mood. Will be going again if I'm in the area x

What a venue! Attended for Latin Jazz festival this weekend and worried that daytime would equal less atmosphere but worries were unfounded. The basement location meant time was suspended while listening to this amazing quartet, the wine flowed and my mother said it was a 'magical experience. Thank you to the waiting staff for their cheerful, personal approach and the food was great. A mis-order (our fault) was rectified with grace. Thank you- a wonderful experience.

This venue downstairs is super. We were very lucky to have great jazz performers. 🎺 @pizzajazzclub @LondonJazzFest, great #livemusic 🎶 Thank you #DarylSherman and #DigbyFairweather As always the pizza was so tasty and the staff were especially friendly. Highly recommended this as a music venue 🎶

The waiter and waitress just ignored us and honestly the service was terrible. The dish was not too bad but the way they ignore us feels like racism to me. They screwed my day up and getting service fee:(
