Hi There, I want to lodge a complaint in regards to Roehampton Huntercombe Mental Health hospital. My wife has been in their care since she was admitted 4th of November 2021. My experience as her carer in regards to dealing with the hospital has been really disappointing. There are few issues in regards to arranging leave, getting information and following due process. Since she was admitted to the Huntercombe Mental hospital I have felt that the hospital has not informed me enough to see what her care plan will be during her stay. There did not give her her the full medication she was on during the first 5 days that she was admitted. She had a blood test to check her Lithium levels in Epsom General Hospital before her transfer to Huntercombe. This will inevitably make her unwell as she needs her full medication to remain well. It also seems that the hospital are incredibly short staff for a private hospital. No one seems to have any uniformity in regards to dealing with wife's care plan. I haven't been provided any uniformed information on what medication she has taken or not taken, ward round times, and plan for leave. I have also been denied access to the ward round virtually which undermines my rights. I put a request through today and it has not been honoured.

Would recommend this hospital!! The help I received in Kingston Ward, helped me so much and the staff are so supportive from the second you arrive. Especially to Staff Lucian. He was always listening to me, hard worker and never refused me when I was asking for a cup of tea. He gave me always good advices to go over this bad situation. But I didn't like that the Nigerians staff are talking in their language to each other in the front of us. That's not respectful and make us feel uncomfortable. So one star minus because of that.

I was very briefly a patient here a little over a year ago, was at the lowest point of my life back then but I still think about the staff now and how much they all helped, they genuinely saved me from a very dark place and I am eternally grateful. My mental health is the best it’s been in years now so I can now look back and appreciate the help I received, such incredible people on the Osman ward, thank you.

Shared drive containing 2.5tb of confidential patient data from all hospitals in group accessible from patient account on patient computer. Refusal by ward manager Paul to resolve problem. Patient issues regularly discussed in front of others. Told by Jerry and Ashford about the HIV status of the r4pist in the next room. Told that I was at risk of exposure but denied testing. Documents often left in plain view in office and if I'm expected to wait ten minutes for a nurse to deign to leave their chair then of course I'm going to read about the Angolan who was kidnapped and abused by soldiers or the Afghani with a penchant for stabbing people. Patients regularly expected to talk about confidential medical problems in front of others. Marcus interrupted my shower to make me do this for his own sadistic amusement. Regular sleeping by staff on suicide watch. I had to wake staff up to go to sleep because their snoring was too loud. Staff would tell me not to talk to them because they needed to sleep. Endemic problem and i was punished for complaining. So endemic we called it 'second break' and I remember threatening to dress up as a ghost in a bed sheet to pull the alarm of the person involved. I was punished with sleep deprivation - they can't sleep then I won't be allowed to either. Managed to strangle myself with a drawstring chewed out of a pair of shorts whilst Tunde slept at the end of my bed. Also threatened by Tunde for waking him up whilst observing another patient. Refused prn by Belinda because I'd awoken her from being passed out in the office. Threatened with restraint by Belinda over this. The worse offenders for sleep were Ashford and Ebeneezer. Everyone was at it. Yumi, Emedio, Joseph, Tunde, EVERYONE. Organisation claims no evidence but later made staff sit in corridor. Suicide watch became a staff party. I dread any night more than one person would be on suicide watch because the staff would talk and laugh loudly at night. Foot stamping and door knocking were both common methods for sleep deprivation, as was flicking coins against doors. 11 weeks to remove excrement from bathroom walls. Lice observed in bathrooms. Sinks won't drain and toilets won't flush properly. Walls are filthy. Ward is filthy. Carpet and furniture stink of urine. Violently assaulted by Joseph and Terrence. Overindulgence in violent restraint by all employees. Regularly witnessed the agitation of patients in distress to justify violent restraint. Culture of deception to protect staff members. Regularly witnessed Joseph threaten patients. Witnessed two patients left lying face down in corridor after Acuphase injections. Had to step over one to get to my room. Was told not to wake the other because he was too much trouble. I was regularly agitated to self harm by staff. Sleep deprivation, rudeness, unfairness, degradation in bathrooms. I have autism and meltdowns were not only deliberately triggered but exacerbated with shouting, bright lights and noise. Violent restraint and regular head injuries made worse with unnecessary injections. Joanita spent once spent three hours shouting at me from the end of my bed purely to trigger a meltdown. Two weeks before tribunals the punishment would be off the scale. Sadists like Roger. Cups only sanitized weekly and towels not properly laundered. Bed sheets rarely changed, probably because Four Seasons is broke. Most of the nurses have less than one year of experience and are desperately chasing bonuses that will never materialise now that four seasons is up for sale. There is blood on their hands. They have sold their integrity for nothing. Billed up to 1000 per day for my care but where did the money go? Not on food, occupation or Chido's teeth. Sometimes dinner is just a soup or a sausage roll. Almost no occupation. No ventilation during this summer. I will upload a picture of one of my head injuries. This place is a torture centre with abuse so endemic that they can't even understand they are doing anything wrong. Punished for complaining. Shame on you

Terrible hospital. This hospital treat patients and their family really badly. Many of the nursing staff are very rude and in my view seen to not appreciate how to best deal with mentally ill patients. They for example did not seem to appreciate that they need to support a patient with the cleaning of their room when the patient is clearly too unwell to do it themselves without any support. I managed to see my relatives room by luck a few weeks into her stay at this hospital and it was in real mess and they seem to not appreciate that if a patient is very unwell they need support with cleaning and tidying up; I was happy to support and guide my relative with cleaning of her room but they would not allow that and the staff would also not support the patient themeselves unfortunately despite my relative being very unwell. Also nursing stag don’t like the families to visit a patient for more than an hour and try their best to restrict a family visiting a patient; This is unlike NHS hospitals who don’t mind relatives visiting for as much as they want (and not just one hour) as long as the visit is within visiting hours. Also they claim they have basketball court and gym but they never seem to let patient use these facilities. Certainly they never let my relative use it despite she being there for about 2 months and despite she being keen to use it. Also my relative was in the hospital for 2 months without her mental health improving at all despite her consultant claiming that most people entering their hospital improve within 4 weeks. During the time my relative was in the hospital about 90% of the patients remained the same and no one seemed to improve. My relative only got better when the nearest relative asked the consultant to please discharge our relative. 2 days after discharge my relative got admitted to a NHS run mental hospital and she got better within 2 weeks of admissions in this new facility as they seem to have more competent nursing staff and consultants and alternative medication was tried. Also Huntercombe hospital seem to not have a formal complaint process. Despite making several formal complaints to the manager of this hospital , we did not get any formal response back. My advice is if you have a relative in this hospital, please don’t leave them there, please try to move them to a NHS run facility. Also if you like to make a formal complaint about this hospital see if you can do it through NHS England or the local MP as complaining to the manager of this hospital seem to be ineffective.

Rude Jamaican Ward Nurse working on the Osman Ward. Don't bother calling to find out about your loved one, because the lady will just bark over the phone. No updates regarding our daughter from admission theough to discharge. Just met with abuse.
